Hi guys! This is Nicola or better known as Mergen (Team Name). I’ve been playing Tree of Savior for a very long time now. Approx: 2300 hrs on my Steam. I have to admit I’m a Fletcher Fanatic with 3 Fletchers under my belt. I just love Fletcher way too much and I know I would have to make a guide for Mergen! The reason I’m creating this guide is to help all the new/old players understand how versatile this build really is. Great Single Target with high AoE burst hence the title ‘Best of Both Worlds’. I really do hope you like this build and my apology in advance since it’s a work-in-progress guide. I will work hard on this guide but since I have a full-time job and as a gamer this guide might take awhile to finish. Please feel free to leave a comment, like/dislike and what I should/could improve upon.

    Increases critical hit chance by 1.
    Increases evasion by 1.

CONS = Minimum of 31 basically enough not to get 1 shot.

Crit Rate

330 Crit Rate Calculation:
Formula:
Actual Critical Rate = (Critical Rate - Critical Resist) * (42 / Character Level)

100% Crit Chance against 0 Crit Resist:

100*330/42 + 0 = 785 Crit Rate

100% Crit Chance against 150 Crit Resist: (150 crit resist seems to be the new average)

100*330/42 + 150 = 935 Crit Rate

80% Crit Chance against 150 Crit Resist:

80*330/42 + 150 = 778 Crit Rate

Base crit rate before Swift Step (25%):

623*.25 = 155 -> 623 + 155 = 778 Crit Rate

= 623 Base Crit Rate

Crit Rate with Swift Step + Chrono’s Quicken: (25% + 25%):

623*.50 = 311 -> 623 + 311 = 934 Crit Rate

(934 - 150) * (42 / 330) = 99.78%

With this you can Crit 100% against 150 crit resist using Swift Step and Quicken.

Switching Sissels to Glad Band /w Swift Step:
623 - 74 = 549 Crit Rate with 2x Glad Bands
549 * .25 = 137 -> 549 + 137 = 686 Crit Rate
(686 - 150) * (42 / 330) = 68% crit chance with glad bands against 150 crit resist.

Switching Sissels to Glad Band /w Swift Step + Quicken:
623 - 74 = 549 Crit Rate with 2x Glad Bands
549 * .5 = 274 -> 549 + 274 = 823 Crit Rate
(823 - 150) * (42 / 330) = 85% crit chance with glad bands against 150 crit resist.

TL;DR
My Magic number for Crit Rate at 330 will be 778 (base crit rate of 623)
0 crit resist = 100% crit rate / 150 crit resist = 80% (leaving room for Monstrance or Quickens).

Conclusion:
Yellow Gems > Red Gems (unless EX. Scout 3’s Split Arrow)

Yellow:

  • Less RNG dependent with high dex/crit meta
  • Better overall average damage
  • Consistence ticking damage
  • Doesn’t scale very well with Glass Moles
  • Need high Crit Rate

Red:

  • Scale really well with Glass Moles
  • higher max. damage
  • Inconsistence DPS (too much rng trying to max. attack)
  • Overall lower average damage comparing to yellow
  • Not very good with current high dex/crit meta

Nice guide and build, what u can say about solo leveling and grind? have enough AoE for early 100’s ? i’m actualy following your build and i’m on A2 atm

Barrage from R1 is a strong enough AoE skill until late game. You also have access to lv 10 multishot. Once you get to Scout 1 everything will be super easy with cloaking.

If its a guide from Nicola or Greyheim its legit, I approve this message.

Expect for first chars, any alt with any build can easily get to rank 5

What changes is how much you can level without questing.Ex:
My first Archer(A3,Sc1,Rog1 when reached R5) took awhile and i’ve wasted lots of cards to get to 120ish
My 4th archer (A1,Rangewr 3,A2) barely used cards till 85(used all 1,2,3 cards only there and the xp barely moved)

This build looks like the latter,easy time even if you avoid questing

Spreadshot vs homing arrow which is better for single target?

Homing arrow is better because the damage can stack on single target. Also mobile while charging which is really good for kiting. Right now Barrage is better than Spread shot because it just hit 1 time only per mob unlike barrage shot gun.

Hey I’m rather new but been following quite a few archer threads. Your build looks pretty neat to me but I don’t think I want to follow the fletcher aspect because I don’t really like to follow a main class… anyways you seem more than capable do you think a1>r1>a2>sc1>ro1>falc1&2>mergen is any good? I’ll be following this guide however as it resembles my original plan a lot in the most parts :slight_smile:

imo so many circle 1 classes isn’t good, pick a class and specialize in it because you’ll have a bunch of mediocre/average skills but nothing really good
you can do a scout 3 falc mergen, fletcher mergen, wugushi mergen, rogue mergen, just don’t go rainbow build imo.

since musketeer fix snipe already you can use snipe+circling again. And dmg of musketeer C1 is pretty good if you compare to other C1 Archer.

Just wanna say having 1 rank in scout is probably gonna be meta for archer cos of those crazy hitting mobs. Sadly I don’t have one. :joy:

I wouldn’t suggest full support/buff build then Mergen. Mergen as of now has too high of a cool-down to be a stand-alone class or be any use without fillers. You need a filler such as Fletcher/QS3 etc. to be effective. Unless they reduce the cooldown on Mergen’s skill you will need filler dps class with low cool down.

Yeah you gonna wish you have scout 1 in Inner district 8, those magic mobs there destroy you.

It’s a IMC feature, the thrill of first time going district. :joy:
