i have the same sentiments as well regarding hunters. They should just rework the skills if they plan to push through it like this

I’d like to see a rework to the whole kit that takes the theme and differentiate the skills. also, I’d like them to get rid of pet AI and script skill execution to disregard travel time and pet’s location, only show an animation of the doge doing something instead of having the pet travel which causes a lot of problems.

Coursing / retrieve are too similar, sure there’s the crit thingy, but, other than retrieve bringing the enemy close to you they’re the same thing, with these reduced times and the priority given to damage instead of utility I feel that a complete overhaul is needed. They need to choose a role for hunter and keep it around, they’re destroying its role right now in favor of balanced damage.

It’s just me or Falconer looks really strong?

With one rank hovering lvl 5 have around 600% per hit and the bird attack 6-7 times with the atributes so 3600% against a boss for a fire and forget skill.

And with 3 ranks get the Preempetive Strike making the bird use sonic strike that have 1500% every 5 seconds in the max lvl. Looks like it deserve the red icon now.

And the class still have a lot of utility, with Linker nerfed the circling with expand will always be superior, and have aiming too for more good utility.

DEX gonna be useless.

crit att is an ADD so skill % isn’t affected by crit dmg.If you go Full DEX, you will be doing less damage if your using any skill.

But i guess AA build should be fine with it.

Are you sure? There’s a completely different version going on the KTOS general thread. The data a guy there provided reagrding his rogue 3 using backstab against low level mobs seemed to suggest crit attack also gets multiplied by Skill Factor.

I think its only because backstab. Backstab has been away a weird skill, remember when we have the gem update, 400 crit attack increase backstab attack be like 20k?

maybe it has a hidden factor that includes crit attack, my friend tested on AA and normal archer skills and full dex indeed did less dmg when crit.

so for real I dont know is it only backstab or other skills too

Now that you mention it I remember a topic about BackStab damage right after gem revamp being way too high when using yellow gems really.

I just hope crit attack somehow get inside the damage formula so it’s multiplied by skill factor as well, otherwise, it’s a dead stat, period.

yeah remember that? I’m asking the guy to do some more test to make sure. but backstab indeed has some hidden stuff we dont know about which scale really well with crit att.

That is backstab’s back attack and Karacha set bonus giving big bonuses. The damage in Ktos general thread also provided values of front attack, which gives backstab no bonuses in attack, which still gives consistent results.

Sadly autos don’t help out much since there’s no skill factor involved so we can’t exactly test if crit attack si also being multiplied.

The small amount of data collected in the KTOS General thread really seems to suggest skill factor affects both physical/secondary attack and critical attack, by changing ATK in the damage formula provided by IMC for ATK = 1,5* Physical/seconday atk + Crit ATK, whenever you land a critical hit.

I do hope it works in that sort of way so we actually have a choice.

it doesnt have anything to do with backstab, i gave the 2 different crit values backstab can have and also just gave a str vs dex comparisson wich ended up resulting in 20% more crit damage for going full dex with LOW-MID WEAPON DAMAGE, at higher levels of trans and weapon refine the str vs dex becomes more of a preference of stable dps and if you benefit or not from blockpen/aspd

i still haven’t seen a confirmation regarding split shot being affected by DEX aspd… can anyone confirm? Thanks!

Maybe my brain is still asleep, but I still can’t understand this part. Does STR give some % scaling with atk? I’m pretty sure STR still gives flat values. Any increases in damage are due to the weapon and have nothing to do with STR right? Even on a crit, the 50% more damage you get from STR is the same no matter how much atk your weapon has, right?

Help me understand as it might be something so simple that flew over my head. I tend to over think these things.

Let’s say 10 vs 1000 weapon atk and 300 total STR/DEX
300 STR ~= 600 atk (I’m looking at 2 atk per STR)
300 DEX ~= 1500 c.atk (I’m looking at 5 c.atk per DEX)

10 w.atk + 600 atk = 610 dmg = 915 c.dmg = 15 + 900
1000 w.atk + 600 atk = 1600 dmg = 2400 c.dmg = 1500 + 900

10 w.atk + 1500 c.atk = 10 dmg = 1515 c.dmg = 15 + 1500
1000 w.atk + 1500 c.atk = 1000 dmg = 3000 c.dmg = 1500 + 1500

Even at 100000 w.atk
100000 w.atk + 600 atk = 100600 dmg = 150900 c.dmg = 150000 + 900
100000 w.atk + 1500 c.atk = 100000 dmg = 151500 c.dmg = 150000 + 1500
The contribution of STR is still the same.

Did you mean to say that as w.atk becomes higher and higher, stat based atk becomes less and less relevant?

this, str could end up giving like 1000 attack, but if your weapon attack is … 4k or something, it becomes only 20% of your total damage, similar goes to crit attack
