I already quitted before these things got released so I really have no clue which card is best for this build. Werewolf is stackable right? It seems best given the inconsistencies of doing back hits w/o a proper tank. Given that there’s a proper tank, then I think glassmole would be best? It boosts attack right? So it really depends on the needs. I can’t speak much because I don’t know which is more needed above Lv250 content which is where I stopped.
One thing I know for sure, if you see yourself solo-ing alot, Werewolf seems best.
Hello Dream, thanks for this nice and complete guide. I have a question hope u can answer me anytime. Don’t you think that letting Split arrow at lvl 1 is good enough? just to not waste too many SP, or what do you think? is lvl 5 a big difference compared to lvl 1 Split arrow? thanks in advance and my best wishes
I think I already answered this question before. Indeed Split Arrow Lv5 burns mana too fast but time is also money, the faster you kill, the more silvers you earn. IIRC, at around 1800 ATK, Lv1 vs Lv5 still has 18% damage improvement.
Whoa that’s really awesome. This way the build can just purely invest on STR or any patk boosting gears w/o using something like Sissel or those high level green gems.
Anyways, I’m not sure how Backstab competes with other Rank 8 skills at the moment. With some tests I didn’t bother revealing in the forums, Backstab’s sustained DPS is actually pretty good. The problem is that the Rank 8 skills have this massive fixed skill damage attached to them making them powerful by default.
You see 2x Backstab is like Musketeer’s Snipe in terms of damage but only 10s cooldown. The problem IS that Rogue C2 only offers that alone unlike Mergen or Hackapell where even if they have quite longer skill cooldowns, at least they offer more.
If Mergen was really that disappointing and you prefer the playstyle of having some kind of melee attack, Hackapell seems to be a good choice.
I saw the vids of Hackapell and wow, it actually seems better than Mergen. The first skill Skarphuggning seems to have a really good range and it’s a true multi-hit since judging from the vid, each hit has a seperate chance to crit, that is a characteristic of a true multi-hit skill. Not sure about Storm Bolt though but it seems to be a single hit skill?
Cavalry Charge seems really good as well as we have some bosses with extremely high crit resist like Dullahan etc. Leg Shot seems good too, just not sure if it’s a true multi-hit skill but the problem is that you’ll need both Pistol and a Sword. 2H-Bow is staple since it’s extremely good against flying. So all in all, you’d need 4 weapons, 2H-Bow, Crossbow, Pistol and Sword.
I’ll probably take this chance to apologize if others went for Mergen on Rank 8 just to end up being disappointed. I didn’t expect the class to be that underwhelming. Hackapell seems to be the better choice and no, just because Cloaking doesn’t work while mounted doesn’t mean Hackapell cannot work anymore with Scout. Scout has no way to have very fast movespeed while farming using Split Arrow, only with mount it is possible. The stat boosts given by mounting is also a very welcome boost.
I actually have nothing to play lately and I’m taking a look at what’s new on ToS. I don’t know if I would make a comeback but yesterday, I tried logging in and saw that I cannot access Team Storage anymore w/o premium and the thing is, I always keep my weapons there. It was really a bummer even though I still had 3 spare tokens kept on my inventory. That’s really such a bad move again by IMC, and here I was thinking whether to play again yet they just keep doing things that drives players away.
Pretty sure Hackapell skills can only be used while mounted like Cataphract. Unless IMC actually decides to make it possible to cast w/o being mounted.
I go for Mergen because the skill, power and remember dreaming I am a full STR so I have low evasion and low def and HP I can’t go near the mobs for hit them it better Attack from a place far
I just want to say I followed this guide and it was a blast! Thanks @Dream for this guide. Though my stat allocation was dex heavy I can still do my 145 dungeon runs in 20-25 mins each. Plus feint barrage combo is godly. Although I’m not sure how it will fare on 280+ content (im sure it is weaker) and which rank 8 should I get so I’m still here waiting for reviews lol and I’m just keeping it as a farmer for now. Hope you’ll come back!
@Dream This is a fantastic build that I think a lot of people sleep on or think is weak because of a lack of knowledge about skill combos. If I’m not mistaken, mergen’s arrow rain skill can be captured. Combine double rain and double flare, plus the aoe burst filler for split arrow, and a supposed single-target dps 0cd move in mergen’s future cycles… does this make mergen the optimal choice for r8?
Feint+Barrage does not fall off due to the reason that it’s mainly composed of modifiers. Like I keep mentioning, at Lv100 Attribute, Feint+Barrage does a total of 6000% of your PATK, yes we talk in “percentage”, not “fixed”. As long as this combo retains it’s extremely high modifier, it will never fall off and would just keep scaling, stronger and stronger as your PATK goes even higher.
No worries if you didn’t follow the guide fully. My guide should be taken with a pinch of salt. Even my own character which I haven’t resetted yet has high DEX investment, I think it’s still 3 STR : 1 DEX.
That’s a very good decision to wait and see first how Mergen and Hackapell fares. So far though, I’m on Hackapell’s side.
Capture is indeed amazing yet underrated. My only issue with Mergen is it seems the skills are mostly lacklustre and comes with really long cooldowns. At the moment, I’m convinced that Hackapell seems better than Mergen, we will see though. I’m just lurking around the forums for now.

[/quote]True, but from what I see, KR players are still able to get this absurd amount of defense where they can just facetank mobs. I only saw on Lv290 dungeon though where they take 1 damage, not sure about other high level content.
BTW
Almost all new skill of every archer class in rank8 right now except Mergen/SR3 = Fake multi hit.
AS far I know only Cannoner’s Cannonade has been fix in kr already. (Maybe Musketeer got fix too but idk because I never know about Musketeer C2 has fake multi hit skill).
So right now best multi hit in rank8 = Mergen’s Koochaksal, Tripple Arrow, Arrow Sprinkle (idk how many hit after use with capture).
For Hakka IDK they got fix yet. as far I know. They just fix about back stab can use by sword weapon too, A skill like barrage can stack arrow.
So there are actually some KR players who did the exact same build as mine? Then again, I shouldn’t be surprised cause KR players min-max alot too. Thanks for the video~
btw Dreamy, tokens are tradable now ,(alternatively soloing the 145dung will give you about 330k per run) u might find someone willing to sport you a token, then access yours in the storage and trade them back
