Well, none of Templar’s skills besides Build Guild Tower and obviously other Guild management related comands actually ask you to be the leader of the Guild, they just require Guild members.
That’s nice and all, but if the only provisions are crops and companions, I’ll probably pass. I’m not very interested in the guild vs guild aspect of the thing.
it would be funny if there was a guild entirely comprised of Templars running around summoning and warping to each other.
If everyone can be guild leaders then having a templar is completely useless. Guild Leaders should actually be GUILD LEADERS. Too many in mmos are a guild leader is just basically a founder who does nothing at all. Now as Templar you can actually feel like you are empowering your members if they do it right. A good Templar with leadership, management and good social skills should define the role of this class uniqueness. If everyone can create guilds then it kinda makes this class pointless.
That’s an awesome idea
an “Outside sub-guild” group would make templars less limited to guild only content.
and the idea of organizing the guild members using something like Squad/Positions/groups
would make things faster to use using the Guild calling/warping skills during siege/war/raid events
(Since some of the members don’t want to participate at the moment , and you don’t need to select each member individualy in the middle of battle).

Actually, I do like this idea alot! The idea of Guild Leaders that ToS is trying to implement is alot different than most MMOs and we’re not used to it. In ToS, apparently, Guild Leaders are not supposed to be the guys goofing around in PvP arenas. They’re in for Guild vs Guild, and they’re comitted to it. Having to lose 1 rank(maybe even more) to become a Guild Leader may be a set back, but, the way I see it, Guild Leaders are the ones that will be focusing on Supportive builds rather than Dps, I feel like Templar/Centurions are going to be a very common Class Build as the Guild Leaders are actually going to be leading their guilds into the battlefield as Centurion c3(maybe?xD), as going for a supportive build will be more rewarding for your guild as a whole and, losing 1 circle won’t hurt so much because that won’t affect how well you’ll support your guild in a GvG.
Maybe it was mentionned at some point, but could non-templars make smaller guilds, and templars could be the only ones to make the really big ones? That way a small group of starting players could play in gang anyway, and the big Guild Vs Guild would be managed by competent people that are focused on it.
why not just merge templar and centurion together and make formations guild members only they’re pretty much the same thing now
Hum, it means that players can use the skills to troll other guild members.
Impossible. Since they get a prompt when you summon them, just like any other warp.
Maybe every branch should have a class at rank 7/8 that allows them to create squads? Then they’d need to semi-sacrifice a rank for making squads, which will still limit the segregation of players. Yeah it does mean that everyone can create a guild-like entity then, but not everyone would want to take that class, so it will not be open to everyone. Also make squads more limited than Guilds so that people would be incentivised to join a guild for more benefits.
I think you’re over thinking it. A simple minor enhancement to parties is really all that’s needed to bring much of what the squad mechanic is asking for.
You know what, I’m going to have a bunch of friends that want to play with and we’re going to party together, regardless of whether or not we’re going to get a guild. We have parties and friend lists. I like the idea of squads though, like how they had link pearls in FFXI. If something like that doesn’t get implemented, you can still make a Skype chat or a Discord channel for your circle of friends.
The definition of a guild is an association that trains and hires members to work in a craft or trade. I like how they want you to work put forth a lot of effort to get a guild. It’s not just a group of people in a shared chat.
I think people are exaggerating over this a little. You only need 1 circle of Templar to make a guild. So when the game comes out, that leaves you with +9 circles to create a pvp build. I say +9 circles because since there will be 10 circles with 80 jobs total, I’m assuming that they will make at least 12 circles to accompany the last class set. Thus I don’t really think you will loose much even if you pick templar.
I personally think that having a certain class be a guild leader is amazing.
If people choose to create alts to make a guild, they are free to do so. I know I wouldn’t bother doing that if I didn’t want to play a swordsman, who wants to be a leader so much to waste time just to level a character to 250. If you’re not willing to main a swordie you really don’t need to be the one leading the guild. Maybe let someone else do it 8)
I don’t mind taking one circle of Templar to be able to create a guild. There are already so many circles and there will also be circles after C1 Templar. And who knows, maybe C2 and C3 skills will have something interesting.
I can already imagine my friends breathing down my neck for being a slow leveler.
This is going to be so much fun.
Instead of Templar being the only guild leader class, why not make so that each of the 4 main classes(I haven’t played the game yet so I don’t know if it’s only 4) have different ways to manage a guild. Like a guild managed by a templar have shops highly focused on armor/weapon creation, but still having low quality pots/etc, while a wizard master have high quality pots/etc with low equips. Also each class could get a set of exclusive skills to share with the guild.
Also if the game have/get a “Guild vs Guild” with castles to invade and stuff, the defenses available would be different depending on the guild master class.
awesome ?
at c1 templar only have guild related skills and 1 buff
so just make an templar for guild and roll out for another char ?
this is so damn nice
Templar being the only class that can create a guild is soooo refreshing.
More times than not, when anyone can make a guild its just 1-5 people IF that.
a certain game i played previously had something like 7500 guilds, 98% of those guilds were dead, id much rather have few but dedicated guilds than having thousands of glorified parties.
huh, I thought parties dont dissolve when you log out in the first place? Thats how me and my friends bypassed the broken friends list. We just stayed in the same party.
I like the idea, it make “Guild” need proper management and precious
Unlike players simply join and simply leave, they know once they joined they have to contribute to it seriously.
