Do you think a Swordsman with six circles can beat a Swordsman with Seven circles, and at the same level?
That’s what we are talking about,

There are a lot of people (myself included) that play strictly support based classes. I am fully aware that we are the first ones to take the blame, and usually the last ones to get the glory. Nevertheless, there is something that is truly rewarding about knowing that your contribution is vital.
Sadly, I was not able to enter in cBT1 or 2. However, if I make it into the next cBT, I will happily assist in any support role you require. (If you’ll accept a noob like myself - of course)
Well, I think it is not the time to say that templar is useless at the moment. We don’t know how’s GvG going to look like and we still don’t know about c2 and c3 skills yet.
There are possibilities that’s going to make Templar worth taking are many. For example, what if GvG requires you to defend a large area and being able to teleport to your scout and call most of your guild member to defend enemy team is going to be very important.
Moreover, what if they make templar c2 and c3 have a really nice buffs for guild members (eg damage buffs, shield, speed etc.). If you consider there are many classes that are quite useless at rank 1 and gets better at rank 2 and 3 (cata for example) then Templar is not in such a bad spot.
Thats why my Templar is sitting on my labtop. So if I need to teleport people in I can do it.
Support is really good in this game. Our guild is heavily on the PvP side though so you may not want to join us. Anyone is free to join us for kOBT though, I don’t intend to try and PvP with 150-300 ping.
Since there are 2 posts about the same thing, I’ll repost what I wrote in the other one. I’m talking about the whole idea behind Templars.
This is why you don’t bitch about ■■■■ in a beta before things are finalized. Fool.
YEAH! How dare they express their current opinion on the way things are currently in the hopes that it will change!
/s.
Double fool.
I don’t get the whole “Templar being a class is forcing me to waste a rank for making a guild”-thing some people keep going on about.
Even if all the Templar class was, is 15 class levels of NOTHING, except for the option of creating a guild, it would still not be a wasted rank, but a choice you have to think through carefully. Ala Do you really want to be a guild leader? In the case of these people, apparently not even that badly that they’d be willing to invest a single of your 10 class-choices into that goal.
But then, it turns out that actually, the case is not even remotely that extreme, as the Templar class is not just a proper class with its own skill-set, its skills are even made around guild-related activities. Oh no, how awful?
I don’t even…
Cry more about bugs in a closed beta.
I don’t understand.
The game revolves around having more than one character on the same account to be efficient.
As a guild leader as well, I’ll be rolling Templar, and it’s been confirmed that once the guild is created, all your characters get guild leader status.
Why not roll a build with Templar c3, and then a build that you’d like to play.
The benefit is you get 2x dungeon runs (assuming you only have 2 characters, it can be more), so 2x the chance of loot, or talt which is necessary for guilds, and 2x the chance to make more money off of loot.
Personally I’ll be rolling 2 characters in the beginning, running a static party with my Templar and an alt when not everyone is online.
The other benefit is it’s easier to play with other members of your guild when you have other characters as I’m certain not everyone will always be on par in terms of level.
Our guild is a heavily PvP focused guild with inter-guild tournaments, daily arena and as much GvG as the game will allow. Were also mostly Min/Maxers. Having a circle of nothing is unacceptable for any of us.
Im not really a fan of having to run a client on my labtop a leach a Templar up with my main but I guess thats whats going to happen. I have had other members offer to leach the Templar too but noone in our guild is going to main something that crappy in PvP.
Unless that guild leader status also gives your other characters access to warp in/out then your going to want your Templar on another account, preferably on a labtop sitting next to your pc so you can use those skills when you need them.
Even if having a Templar on your account did give those skills to your other characters I would probably still have to leach Templar on another account or find myself 520 (by Templar circle 3) levels behind, a rank 9 alt is no joke.
The warp is 1 hour long CD, with 5 people at level 5 (for whoever, for whatever reason, gets it to level 5).
Personally I found the skill extremely useless. It’s so easy to travel around in this game, that it really does not make sense to use such a skill.
The Templar buff is a guild buff that lasts for an hour. At worst you’d have to hop around on to your templar every hour to give a buff that gives every 15 physical attack (no it does not scale).
Really, the only benefit of having templar, is to drop a guild tower in places atm.
As far as a rank 8 alt, it took me a weekish to get to 200 in the iCBT rates in the beginning. Assuming that it’s the same (or the scalings formula changes since they mentioned it was for iCBT), it’ll take me like 2-3 weeks to hit 280, and then 2-3 weeks to hit 280 on a non-Templar character.
I doubt there will be much of a loss if you plan on playing this game for quite awhile.
Revelators’ Path
Excited to play as an archer I am!
To explore this unknown land
Let’s work together to purify our soil
So the life can be spread again!
Let’s chant our hymn to the Goddess
So we can surpass any pain!
Guide us, divine light!
We are the holy warriors,
We are the Revelators,
We will stand up and fight!

Edit: Let’s keep the tree alive. It’s giant and might have a big shade for us to sit down after we purify it.
Stuff gets way beefier past 200, and the death penelty does too.
I’ve played past 200 on the kTest server and have 2 level 280’s.
Stuff’s a joke so long as your in a party still. On your own though, 3 star maps are very difficult and just not worth it.
I dunno if you played RO/L2 but the goal of GvG in ToS is to kill the enemy guild tower. I dunno about my opponents but i’ll be putting mine in the most inconvenient location possible. The ability to warp in +16 people to a fight is huge.
But yah my point is same as yours. No matter how you use Templar its not worth being your main character.
But what makes you think TOS is going to be about some kind of end-game GvG in the first place though?
I took TOS as meant to be about the journey of your character through its world more than anything else. Heck even the devs seemed uncertain in interviews and Q&As about what TOS might offer some day in regards to end-game and GvG things.
As far as the guild towers go… the info we have so far, doesn’t make it seem like “kill the enemy guild tower” is going to be an actual objective and rather just a thing guilds might do to each other to fight voer popular spots and cause drama xD
But its 5 people, the tooltip was incorrect.
That and by the time you open your menu and check all the 5 people out of the list and start casting the spell, you’ll probably get interrupted in any gvg situation.
Just put the tower next to a goddess statue. It’s so inconvenient to put it in an odd place, because then you and every guildie has to always walk to that obscure location. Even if you wanted to defend it with the teleport skill, assuming your in the obscure location and an enemy guild decides to wage war and attack your tower, you’ll only be able to call 5 people while the rest of your guild will have to walk to that obscure location.
I just can’t see how that can be any good, and any reason at all to play templar other than to put down towers and the 30% crafting buff which is somewhat useless too.
PvP guilds are always about the GvG in any game that has it. If your guild is PvE or whatever and doesnt care about min/maxing thier roster then thats fine. The main use of Templars active skills suggest GvG use but the class is terrible in PvP which is the main complaint.
