Well I hope for the people that abused the s**t out of this exploit they get a long ban, because I think doing this is grounds for a permaban. It really shouldn’t be tolerated.
Honestly, IMC didn’t respond or take action until this bug was posted outside of the bug subform. IE: When it was reposted yesterday in General.

Good riddance. I warned you people in the thread ‘reporting’ this exploit and telling everyone that IMC never bans people for anything but botting that he was full of ■■■■ and anyone abusing the attribute overleveling would almost certainly be punished, because they’ve had a pretty much zero tolerance policy even since beta on bug abuse. Next time don’t listen to the guy doomsaying and fearmongering about how IMC doesn’t care about exploits and think you’re free to do whatever you want.
I spam leveled all of my attributes since the patch (IMC can we please get rid of the confirmation for leveling an attribute? It’s seriously so unnecessary), never once did I accidentally go over the max level. I’m sure it’s possible for it to happen once or twice without your noticing, but there is a point where you’re obviously noticing what’s going on and then continuing to do it intentionally. I sincerely doubt a single innocent person will have all of their attributes overleveled, or even a few overleveled on multiple characters.
Time to order more popcorn when the time comes. Forum gonna get filled with drama and salts soon.

I think it happened to me for one skill.
Was happy about being able to learn attributes nice and fast and suddenly lvl 6. Made me wonder how many people got some broken stuff without even noticing it. I already smell the storm that is coming…
Doesn’t really seem ban worthy, if someone overly abused the bug then reset all their attributes to 0. It’d be a fitting punishment.
Actually they are talking about restrictions. Not directly bans. I also think setting the attributes to lvl 0 seems good because it serves as silver punishment.
For really strong attributes this could easily mean a good number of silver.
People only learn once their wallets are hit, I’m pretty sure if IMC start punishing people that doesn’t follow the rules, bug abusers, anything thats out of the rules but not a perma bannable offense by doing a silver or TP related punishment, people will start to actually behaving like a decent person. Or even a prison system, like 100 hours logged in a instanced prison map doing exausting useless quests… I’m pretty there would not be that many abusers running around this game.
I mean c’mon, a lot of people in real life don’t steal or do “illegal” stuff 'cause they know there’d be consequences for their actions, the most effective one is the fine system, people that got fined by something, they hardly going to repeat the offense.
But on a MMO, they “break the laws” cause they know there will not be any decent punishment, they get banned and then just create another account and keep that abusing atittude going on

What a joke.
There is absolutely no way you can tell the difference between players who did it on purpose vs those who did it accidentally.
There is zero information in game about the max level of attributes. Some have 1. Some have 5. Some have 3. Some have 4. some have 100.
If you ban anyone, all it will do is bring negative press. Even temp bans. Those players won’t care. They just won’t play ToS anymore and will discourage even more players from playing.

what if its not ban but full reset of overleveled attribute without compensation? They didnt say anything about bans in OP anyway. And “restrictions” can have many shapes and forms including but not limited to bans.
