Well this thread is hilarious. And that is more due to how tragic it is that aside from broken ass English, it consists of petty bickering.
Lots of games have been ruined by BR, but the same goes for GR as well. Not to mention RUS and Frenchies.
The problem isn’t the nationality of the person, it’s how they conduct themselves in a public space. I’ve got more issues with Americans than any of the other mentioned nationalities due to attitude.
The problem that arises specifically in the BR, RUS and GR case is that they knowingly go on games that quite clearly state that English has to be used in global chats and choose to ignore it. Irrespective of their ability to speak English this shows a level of ignorance that is understandably going to annoy the ■■■■ out of people. While ToS does not implicitly state this, it’s not a leap to realise that the vast majority of people speak English to varying degrees.
I know enough BR and GR people that pretend not to be of that nationality so they can avoid the inherent stupidity of their country folk. Similar to the Americans who pretend to be Canadian when they holiday abroad so they avoid the stigma of being from a backwards ass nation.
Shame that more people can’t tell the difference between racism and xenophobia. The ones who instantly call ‘racism’ tend to be the ones most blinded by skin colour. Quite tragic.

Never experienced a “i hate BR” like on this game - prob cause BRs dont play european server
But ya us european guys got the same attitude like NA guys - french players are black sheeps - in any instance “oh no i got french premades time to quit” “oh no my whole pvp team is french” etc etc wich was really heavy in TERA
in german forums its like: “hey why not open a baguette server for those guys”
or during actual dungeons its the french to be blamed if anything went wrong going with stuff like “come suck on my baguette filthy french dude…l2p” goes as far as french being used as an insult

I really don’t know if it will bring good news to NA servers or not…

I had a BR friend who told me straight up that BR’s culture is messed up. People are generally mean and just don’t care. It’s like when I moved to America from Jamaica and I notice how differently people treated each other. In Jamaica we greet EVERYONE we make eye contact with, even if it’s a Stranger.
You cannot claim it’s racist to point out cultural differences.
Hell, you can’t even say it’s racist because Brazilian is a Nationality; not a race.
The words you’re looking for is discrimination or prejudice. I just hate people loosely using the word “racism” or “racist” whenever a person has a dislike towards a specific group or community.

Several years of online gaming, even been helping out some private servers finding/banning hackers (Hello RF online) And most players i banned were from a few different countries, i wont say most, but alot of them were infact BR’s.
Ive played other types of games, not only MMO’s where BR have been giving me a tough time. Few scenarios have been me getting teamed up with 4 BR’s guess who they blamed when something bad happened.
Doesnt stop me from saying ive met good people that are BR’s too, i dont hate BR’s but i judge them, until they prove me im wrong about themselves.
Right now ive met and i’m partying with some people from another country that i dont really favor much, but hey, they were cool people, and im having a blast playing ToS with them 
Ok… I’ve tried to understand some points but theres just… Too Much…
First of all…
I’ve saw someone saying “It’s a international server and they don’t speak english”
So… WHAT? I’ve saw many messages in russian, malaysian, french, spanish and god knows what else…And no one complains about it.
The server is INTERNATIONAL, that means EVERYONE can play it.
Thats the beauty of it, just think about it…
We can learn other languages and meet someone from another culture.
Some people just don’t care about learning, they’re just too comfortable thinking that they speak some language and the others should do the same 'cause its a international server using an english client…
Oh… And by the way… I learned my poor english just by playing games, it was hard, but at least most of you can understand what i’m saying.
I’m trying and everyone should, instead of being so negative and hateful.
BR’s cheat? Ok… I don’t know in what reality some of you are living, but they’re not the only ones…
Some may be using hacks, but they’re not the ones who created or first used it.
Saying that Brazilians are the ones to blame, it’s just point a finger at a scapegoat.
And of course: “They are ruining OUR game”
I agree with that is OUR game…
It’s MEANT do be played for EVERYONE

People are not supposed to talk in english just because it’s an international game, i mean, here in Brazil many people dont speak english, BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW, and people want to play the games they like, so no, nobody is obliged to do an english course just to be able to play their favorite games, and where the hell did you get it that brazillians cheat more than other countries players?? Really, where there’s cheaters, there’s cheaters, i see as many cheaters from other countries as from brazil.

I got called a “trashbag br” the one time in the game I acted like an ■■■■■■■ even though I’m asian-american and live in california of all places. it’s wild.
If people have been whining for their entire population to be shoved off a game you paid for, for the few, you’d be pissed too. People don’t owe you politeness nor patience if you’re intent on putting them down, you know. Is it “unwise”? yeah, but like any gaming community on this earth has anything that resembles grace. And of course you take their reaction as “lol classic br behavior”.
idk, pointless argument. it’s nearly impossible to change the minds of people who hate a large cetegory of people. every bad thing becomes a justification, and to make it worse, some brs will put other brs down to look like a “good br”. which, actually, is more or less the only way to get the seal of Your Grand Approval from americans.

Let me ask you, why is it okay for Brazilians to be super racist against what they call “gringos?” I have seen JUST as many racist and hateful messages written by Brazilians directed at “gringos” as I have seen directed at Brazilians by other nationalities. This is a two-way street, don’t act like it isn’t. There is no single victim in these vicious, petty, racist arguments.
The only major difference is, many of them do so in languages other than English, making it where a lot of people don’t even realize they are being insulted because it is being said in a language they don’t understand.
Then when it is reported, the Brazilians get away with it because the staff don’t want to spend their time trying to run things through translators to determine if what was said is a bannable offense or not, meanwhile those who attack others in English DO get banned because the staff can easily check a comment written in English and tell it includes offensive material instantly.
I see some people already up in arms over that issue - that not speaking English is like a ‘get out of a ban free’ card and that itself creates a rift between the two communities.
Even so, I would say it isn’t “okay” for ANYONE to be super racist about anyone else.
Do people on both sides do it? Absolutely.
Is it okay? No, not at all.
Will they continue to do it anyways? Of course.

Very much false. . This just goes back to that stereotypes thing. I am a white American and I don’t care what your religion is or nationality. While it can be cool to learn about a person’s homeland or a little about their religion it’s not a huge deal other than maybe the courtesy of learning a few things not to try to avoid insulting people.
Jerk bags (yes I am saying jerk bags because I don’t feel like being censored) come from all walks of life from all over the world. Just as I have seen a lot of hate flung back and forth in ToS from all sides as well.
Just keep this in mind. One culture may find another a little more rude but it is something to keep in mind that the cultural norms for that person may find that behavior acceptable. While at the same time something you or I or someone else might do something we find acceptable that someone else finds rude or disrespectful.
In my line of work I’ve dealt with people that were originally from all over the place. Quite a few of them spoke English only decently, some barely at all. That didn’t stop us from communicating as best we could and getting along. Quite a few times with the people I dealt with on a regular basis, it became a habit of playing practical jokes on each other now and then.
It’s all a matter of an open mind and a willingness to try to work together. A language barrier can make it difficult, but not impossible if both sides try to make it work.
We are all here to play a game and enjoy ourselves. We just have to try to work together and get along as best we can.

That is what I see in shouts:
Some br type anything portuguese, and next shout you see a Gringo blamming brs because they don’t understand what was said.
Next shouts some brs will troll all gringos who loves to blames brs.
What a gringo have to do when see some portuguese senteces on shout:
Get your fat a’ss out of that conversation.
Many times some brs got issues and ask on shout in portuguese because they know there are many brs playing and can help them in they native language.
I think it has to do with BRs being a closely knit group that doesn’t succumb to Americanization and globalization. They are unwilling to be assimilated by other groups / cultures and will not participate in understanding other communities besides BR.
When they get into an in game environment. They just go about spamming everywhere BR? BR? BR? BR? When you do not identify as a BR they just ignore you and place no effort to socialize.
As opposed to many other nationality that does not do this, and socialize with people all around the world normally.
Hence being easily identified and targeted.

Wow looks like mostly people here think that it’s actually fine to have a racist opinion because of some “bad historic”… “Two wrongs don’t make a right”.
Almost all “country” have done something stupid on the internet and some even worse, in life… and it’s fine to offend people of these country? because of some historic?
I have at least 15 year’s playing mmo’s now, i have played games from beta to it’s end, and must say: Tos shows to be the one with the worst STARTING comunity by far.
2 Examples:
I never heard a single issue with Br’s in Wakfu (Beta) for exemple, and there you HAD to play in party’s! and Lots of Br’s played the beta.
Luna online had a dugeon system called “Date Dungeons” where you random invite someone whith similar level and likes/dislikes for a “hunting date” and you could even put a flag of you country! never had a single issue with the brasilian flag!
The Br hue will be in every mmo, why? it’s a meme already! And it’s fine! you can make fun of a meme! but here in Tos it’s not in a joke level anymore.
I’m not saying that the bad reputation don’t have a reason, some REALLY make they reputation valid and it’s not a small number, no wonder some real hardcore gamers from brasil don’t play on Br servers… It’s easy to be a douch in you native language, and these trolls only want to be douches no matter where they are.
IMC really need to start doing something about this kind of behavior, especially about the ones in shout… and i’m talking about every racist shout’s.
I don’t know if i have more bots on block list or ppl who shout racist comments (From both sides, after all we also see lots of Brasilians racists shouts)
And about the language problem, i find it very disrespectful to not talk in the server language, if you want to use the shout then it’s to everybody and you should use the server language in it! but that works to all not only br’s! lot’s of games you have a RULE for this, think it’s time for us to make that rule.
But it’s not because Br’s don’t want to socialize, it’s because the education system is very bad and mosty ppl have to self-learn any language they want (i’m one of them).
Also i’m pretty sure Brasil is one of the mosty open immigration country in the world, we also have one of the mosty diverse culture.
Sorry the wall text and all these gramma error, english learned through games /ashamed.
