Does it bother anyone how racist our community is?

That less about racism and more about him being an ■■■■■■■. I bet you that he treats everyone in all races with the same douchebaggery.

We should all stop arguing about racism, and just get on to killing each other over it. PhoenixDown and Infinity have the right idea.

Im from Poland but i speak English in ToS, i don’t use Polish becouse i am playing on INTERNATIONAL server. I respect that but some players just can’t… BR & FR almost never use english…

Good example of this:
Why most people hate Germans, it was already over 60 years after WW2 and there still many who hate them, like veterans of WW2, their family and friends, and also family and friends of all who lost their lives during that period . There many veterans of other games where brazilians just enjoyed to mess with about everyone who did not know portugese.

Isn’t it racist to only speak your own shitty language, being fully aware that not everyone might understand you?

I mean, I could do that kind of stuff too but I don’t because that’s what subhumans do.

It’s rude and makes the people who don’t speak my language feel excluded.
So everytime I see someone from my country who does this kind of ■■■■ I get just as angry as when BRs do it.

But then again, this isn’t exclusive to ToS, you are going to find these kind of subhumans everywhere.

I’m used to it by now because I play a lot of CS:GO and Dota2, but I still really wish there were rules against such rude behaviour in every game

Love you so much

I left Crossfire because of the SWARM of BRs that ruined it (and refused to play on the BR server that was opened just for them, simply because they didn’t want to…which ended up in the server being abandoned and closed).

I also remember when they IP banned Brazil from accessing Combat Arms for the same reason.

its not rude as long as nothing rude is being said - sure its an “international version” and english as in the client is english - doesn mean youre forced to speak english only - people who played ktos been speaking english as well

people do exist who cant speak a word in english…i mean what else should they do? the game is open for their region so nothing wrong with it - they dont have any other way of communicating

even some may be using google translate to communicate - and theyre being laughed at for trying hard “haha noob learn english noob haha” <-

I think it’s kind of funny for the most part. I’ve been online gaming quite a while, and went through my phase of hating on the BR’s. It’s futile, and each side is no better than the other. I find the arguments in chat comical lately, because I’m old enough to not care.

So, you hear that you BR punks!? I LOVE YOU.

I’ve actually had quite a few good Dungeon/Mission runs with them, and they’ll speak English easily if they want to communicate with you. They’re not bad people by any account, but as been said, every culture has their bad apples.

Yes, and that makes them as much of a subhuman as the BRs are, at least if they did it in public chat. I don’t mind if you do it in private, but I and many other people perceive it as really rude when people speak something you can’t understand. I mean, they might be saying rude things, they might make fun of you. You’d never know

As a SEA mmo player, we have our own issues with pinoys… Yes we do trash talk one another… but not as brutal as NA x BR. The way I see NA treat BR is literally… inhuman. As if BR aren’t human.

It doesn’t bother me all that much. All that I’ve seen here is play fighting. People enjoy yelling at eachother, ganging up on others. This sort of behavioral impulse is incredibly destructive in real life, but in games it just means entertaining PVP wars.

A more interesting question is, how close to impossible would it be to actually enforce good behavior policies strict enough to curb the ■■■■ talk between the various gaming communities?

I personally don’t believe any group is the victim, here, for the record. Both get off on it. They get to play fight without actually being hurt.

in EU server things seem chill, haven’t seen much racism
I guess since there are so many diff nationalities

Regardless, people should not use foreign languages on the shout chat. This applies to all languages, including Portuguese. It is common courtesy.

so why people who played in korean ToS used to shout in english? why they did not speak in korean? … common courtesy

Because they didn’t have common courtesy - it was stated at the top of the kTOS thread not to mega in non-Korean languages.

I guess this is not considered a ress right ?
As a BR myself, I got to agree, actually, everyone has a point here to some extent, the good AND the bad, just my cents:

Are we rude ?
Well, I REALLY used to think we were, but I`ve been living for more than a couple months now in NA and for my surprise I have seen the same rudeness\trolling behavior in most games that match by ping/proximity. Now, unless I’m being matched with Brazilians living abroad every single time, I guess we are the same as far as trolling goes.

Are we cheaters?
Well I’ve experienced quite some of that, God back in CS 1.6 days, me and my friends used to have the wall hack, just so we could judge people we suspected to be using it on our own server. Gunbound used to be a hack fest as well, not sure if in general, or just around here. I’m sure the same follows for a lot of games. The fact we speak a different language makes us stand out I guess, but here you might have a point, not sure though, check the number of stores selling “power lvls/gold/gear” in PT, it might surprise you that for some quite bot-swarmed games, you can hardly find one in PT.

Are we non-cooperative ?
Well man, some of us can’t speak english I’ll give you that, but I got tired of how many times I tried to speak in, portuguese, english and spanish and got no answers from players. I’ve been in russian, polish, spanish and asian ( these last I think the most ) that will simply refuse to speak english, even when they can, like they answer you, when they need to, but for all social part of it, just rubbish I can’t read. That’s something hard to happen with BR, if we can communicate, we will, at least that is my experience, quite some times, people are actually disappointed I’m BR and they can’t practice a new language. I just keep quiet as if I’m NA and speak english until someone brings it up “where u from”, most of the times I find BR speaking PT in a partly EN speaking party, they know each other and are talking things that don’t make sense even for me, or someone is translating what you wrote or communicating your concerns to someone who can’t read/write EN

But you are on an International Server,
you are expected to speak english ! Its commonsense !!

Well, that did not seem to stop people from playing kToS, srsly, so what if someone shouts in PT ? you feel alienated ? Well good chances are the guy who shouted can’t understand jack sht of what people are saying the whole day right there, don’t hate the poor bastrd. Other than that, good chances are that others players that can’t speak EN will reach out, and who knows, maybe you end up with less random people who can only speak PT in the queue, I really don’t see what’s the problem right there.

They know not their roles, its a nightmare !

Well then you’re really not complaining about BR, you’re complaining about plain noobs. Well just that his one has the quirk it can’t understand what you say. But if I may, I’ve tutored people in dungeons before, frenchs I think, who could not understand a thing I said, and man, “Use [Input skill name]” goes a long way, it is far suboptimal, I know, but fighting it won’t get you anywhere in the dun, that I guarantee. Also, I remember playing warcraft online and 7 out of 10 matches play with teammates that could not communicate, not in pt, en or spanish

Someone here said BR’s are a strong community, someone laughed at him. Dude don’t, it is the truth, in part, I think is the reason why exploits seem to trace more back to us than to others. One guy finds it, he shares it with the whole f*cking country guild, we are like the online version of orthodox jews religious people. Most are reasonable and understanding, until you start bashing some BR, then all goes huehuebrbr south, someone posted a video of how BR behave in a game, dude, we did it to mock ourselves we laugh at everything, it is no wonder our mindless keystrokes laugh is what gives us away in most cases, I guess trolling is just a bit more white mockery for us than it is for most people, to post it as some showcase of how toxic we are is plain lack of sense of humor (from at least our perspective).

Judging people in general, be it race or beliefs, possibly even political view points, is a reflection of ourselves and our own insecurities.

Thank you so much for such constructive commentary.

oh???
so the americans who since the CS kicked us from the servers for not communicating in english is justified? grand part of the BR comunity is only
returning what the american people have done to us !

Its easy tell all the blame to the brazillians , but i played few games e never have see this BR destroing that everybody tell, simple because the americans ,europeans do to but no one say nothing , i have to say, with some europeans people is very pleasant to play they even knowing that i am BR do not tell nothing , but americans pufff …
if is americans > good
if is Br > Bad

… For us the american people only know how to blame but do not know how to look to yourselfs, i have see good part of then using bot, goldseller and anothers cheats , no one said nothing now brazilian usei few time : “Brazilian destroys my games!!!”

i have played since beta , its not pleasant to see people ridiculing us for not speaking in english … i can tell with certain … the american people destroy games with their rascist way of thinking : White > COP , Black > thief, latin > prisoner.if we are in the international server , is “INTERNATIONAL” not english server so the idiom that we say its not obligated to be english … i have see this occurring many time, in various games

i will not tell that brazilian people are saints, but the americans and europeans are not either
