The problem is, why should they stay if they felt that the game is boring? Players shouldnât make effort to feel fun in a game, thatâs developerâs job.
Most of my friends quit too at lv 75 to lv 140, and they are a mix of working peoples to super free university students. Mind you, some of them are grindy player, but they just claimed that this game doesnât worth their time to grind as of the CBT state.
Players leaving because of different game taste is fine, but when there are too many players leaving, itâs usually the game design thatâs having problem.
I stayed because I want to try out features which can give me an upfront if this game ever became good during official release, but if the game remains unwelcoming to casual players, I will probably quit the game because there isnât any point to play a game where itâs more like a chore than fun.
Maybe the game will improve after CBT.
I played RO since 2003, and the grind doesnât felt as boring as the current ToS even at the beginning of the game. I can always find a new map to explore and try if I can grind faster at a different monsters, even though it may end up failing.
I think the real problem for grinding is there is too little choice to explore in ToS (considering the map numbers, thatâs usual).
