<Re:build> Falconer-Mergen

hum, thought that the Magical arrow and DMA buffs would hav emore impact
specially MA since it looks way batter than it was before hahah

but thinking better those chances places it as alternative to mergen in a ranger falco build

MAā€™s new true aoe is a great buff to the skill, but still you need aiming to maximize it even in outer15 where the usual spot is still not too narrow enough for MA to hit everything

Since it is more common to spam cm5 take falconer, it is still superior and makes farming a whole lot better

I can see instances where rang-falc-fletch might be better than merg.

My cm6s have revolved a lot around waiting on circling and triple arrowing and homing.

Fletch seems to have a bit more leeway with MA, DMA, and CF for aoes. In addition, I think the single target of fletch is better than merg. Havenā€™t done enough testing though.

yeah, iā€™m not strong enough to make cm6 yet even with falco, mobs almost one shot me hahahah
iā€™m at a slowpoke pace, i thought that farming silver them buying the gear would be faster but it was a mistake hahah

so do you think zenith is worth maxing?
Structurally speaking, it is mergenā€™s Ougi, it supposed to be the strongest skill.
But in reality it is worse, the damage is too spread out and doesnt have invicibility like bloody overdrive

It gets better with aar, but not having at least a knockdown immunity is really bad

Hm like he said^ā€¦ So I use Zenith as much as possible under both circling aiming (i still believe both are the most OP support skills mechanics wise)

I only have it at lv4 though, would max it if I can. In as much, I lack points because I got Homing Arrow maxed. Again, HA is only weak when you got low AAR. Vice versa

But I feel Mergen lacks dps / utility today if compared to other buildsā€¦ Needs high investment before seeing real resultsā€¦

I hope they rework Mergen in the future, add some utility into the mix. Say, an attribute for Homing Arrow to spawn further homing arrows when target is killed in a hit perhaps?

wow, how do you get that many?

Centaus, drac frieno, camp food, enchant jewel, circling attrib, aar hc 123

You need that dionys cub @adrian.agulto.rn

Tbh I think having too high AAR is overkillā€¦ We can only have as much mobs in screen even in lv6/7 CMā€¦ So under circling, if your AAR is more than mobs then where does the dmg from the extra AAR go?

To oblivion :joy:

having too much AAR can be useful when circling is down too, see doppel with 30+ AAR cyclone

Yeah that was also what I was thinking, hence my Circling now is left at lv2ā€¦

Bump

Minor addits for recent patch

hey guys im a new player in ToS and im still trying to decide what class to play
ive tried some classes (wiz pyro & scout ench bm) but i guess i didnā€™t really like it.

i have a question a few newbie question for archer

  1. is Cannoneer build not good? i rarely see people use it.
  2. what is the role of ranger and falconer? does people use ranger because of Steady Aim? and Falconer for Aiming?
  3. im kind of interested in fletcher and mergen, but can they used in the same build? like fletcher falconer mergen?
  4. i always see archer with ranger-falconer-mergen build, is this the most optimal build to use mergen?

Skill animation is pretty slow so you canā€™t really burst with it. But cannoneer + matross builds are pretty good right now.

Ranger also has crit shot buff that increases your crit dmg by up to 50%.
Falconer is mostly for aiming so your skills will have increased hit boxes.

You can but the common build is ranger-fletcher-mergen. The damage boost from ranger is hard to give up.

Itā€™s one of the easiest to wrap your head around to. And itā€™s just overall good for a lot of content.

i see, if iā€™m going to do ranger-fletcher-mergen, that mean iā€™m giving up the falconer, which decrease my skills AoE, and make my skill hit less target, right?

another question, when i looked at musketeer skill, it seems like it doesnt hit a lot of enemy, (or like what mergen is) does that make them not that good at CM and stuff? is musketeer more pvp oriented?

musketeer is excels at bossing, and rifle has more base dmg than bow. People usually use musket(boss)-sapper(AOE)-piper(buff)
bow right now is weaker DPS compared to another weapon

+30 T10 savinose bow
Hopefully the dev boost it in the future

There is no perfect build, dont hesitate to reset your build to find yours truly

We have a class change event going on, so feel free to test builds soon you can change around a lot right now.

@st.alexander76 welcme to the chat!
Well i had the same noob questions and even noobier ones when i first come here hahaha

@WhiteDwarf resumed it perfectly

For Falconer is popular cause is the easyest and cheapiest circle in the archers tree, itā€™s usefull has nice back up damage, do not have weapon restricion, also Circling buff is as op as aimig for certain skills like homing arrow and triple arrow, or any other skill that uses aoe attack ratio
but be aware, falco tend to make players dependant on it (cause itā€™s too easy and good), but builds can work without it just require more gear investiment (read aar stats)

Piper is another usefull class, but was a bit underhelming for me, as i read the skills i thought: ā€œwow this is awesome so opā€ and then i played with it and it just feels like ā€œis that all?ā€ itā€™s good for pvp tho

As for musketeer build is as @myself said, the calss is pretty strong on its on for what it meant to do, so you need another class as good as it is for aoe, and another one to support both, piper is good since it buffs damage and is a cc master skill, it can hold a group of mobs in place for ages, so the sapper skill will always hit all of then, and musketeer skills deals more damage on stuned/sleep and slowed targets, another option for this would use wugushi insted of sapper
