Plans for Combat System Changes

Actually you’re wrong.
The Assassins are the best ones for full criti builds, but they aren’t the only ones.
Swordsman evolutions like Knight had a lot of full crit builds. Crit + Frenesi skill for great ASPD = looooot of damage.
Even Monks and Taekwons had a few full crit builds in RO, they just aren’t that popular.
Snipers had some full critl builds too.

Anyway, I don’t like Corsairs/Fencers, and I don’t like to use bows. I probably will use a Rogue if I can use Daggers as main weappons with it someday.

Agreed. If they Exchange SPR to AGI. Then it will be WAY better!

I know that. But depending on the skills the stat they scale off is different.
For example Heal uses INT for bonus healing, Mass Heal uses both INT and SPR. I was asking with those changes if the influence of stats will change as well, for example if Mass Heal will stop needing SPR and only depend on INT. Or the opposite. Or if it’ll depend on something else. Or on nothing.
I’m more talking about buffs, heals, or other special skills, not regular attack skills. Obviously they’ll still partly depend on our stats and our attack.

@chibi_manga_king

It feels like a “all pros no cons” idea… The Summoner will be super difficult to kill being full/mostly CON, AND their summon will be really strong too… ? What’s the downside of it ? Less INT so less damages for the wizard ? But anyway your summon will be pretty OP already, and we have several ways to upgrade our own MATK/damages.
Actually I feel it could be kind of funny and interesting to have the summons’ defense and attack depend on different stats.
For example if CON affects their attack, you could have a tanky Summoner, and a strong yet squishy summon. If INT affects their defense, you have a Summoner that could have good DPS, but a not so strong yet annoyingly tanky summon. (For my example I chose opposites because it seems funnier).
^ That’s just random fun, my point is that making CON the stat to be tanky AND to improve your summon doesn’t seem really fair or balanced.
But I do agree that SPR being the stat to improve summon (knowing they drain your mana and SPR lost all its perks) is pretty bad.

There are more summons In this game than just devil cards, expand your perspective.
SPR affecting summon damage isn’t a problem.
The only question is if Necro,Bokor, sorcerer and any other potential summon class (extend it to pets?) Will get more overall damage from Int or from SPR.
There is still this shackling to RO. We have enough stats, forget about AGI.

I like the idea of int giving crit but unfortunately the way things are balanced I don’t see this working healthily unless crit rate was nerfed directly and the people clamoring for stat based crit would just moan some more. Probably best to rip off the bandage completely by removing crit from main stats.

On the subject of Crit. They really may just be going the FFXIV route of having crit rate as a low quantity secondary stat.

The Video shows updated gear including Solmiki leather. Unless they just haven’t reached bonus stats yet… Nothing changed there for Solmiki cloth, leather or skull smasher except their main stats.

Skull smash is around 1000 attack. Stage 10 trans would be 2000 or so.
If stage 10 trans contributes about 70% of damage and Str/Int 20% then…
Str/INT should provide around 570ish damage maybe more maybe less since Solmiki is ilvl 415 and we are 330.

The real question here is… Will DEX affect Sadhu Out of Body attack speed? If not, it really, really should. Stronger damage alone wont help Sadhus compete with all these other classes that are getting buffs from this update. A faster attack speed could really help this nearly dead class become viable again.

Sadhu getting buffs too. :joy:

Hahahaha! XD
I love it.

Just in case you didn’t see the SPR CC resist is back  It was just missing from the translation.

Does SPR also have an effect on Paladin converted monsters? Maybe it can make them move faster or not bug out.

Oh well, game can’t be for everyone. These changes will make a lot more people interested in the game, as a small tradeoff of losing some people that want gimmick builds.

Nice! But i would love to test it now ;-; can’t we have a Beta Test Server for international players??

Wait, I thought we are already playing the beta test server.

I’m sorry for this joke, don’t flag me. ; A;

Hi! Thanks for your answer! Well, the purpose of these changes is to make INT more valuable in the damage calculation, so is expected that the damage of buids with no INT be much lower. So the natural way to maintain the high DPS is to put INT. Sorcerer’s players will have two ways: Go SPR/CON and mitigate the damage of other classes in the build but survive on PVP or go INT/SPR and have damage but be killed fast enough to probably do not cause a considerable damage. Besides, go SPR enlarge your SP pool, so the summon will drain a lot more SP per time making harder to pot. (you’re right when says that we do not know how much INT will affect the damage but these are my concerns about the changes).

to GMs == my concerns and suggestions about rebalance soon:

  • will the SKILL levels, attributes and attack percentage of skills be useless since it doesnt belong in total damage formula? and that formula applies to both outside and inside TBL plus GvG right?
  • will the MAGIC SKILLS/ATTACK be dodgable with evasion? because in Ragnarok mage could miss against high agi/evasion enemies, and if crit chance and crit rate will be erase from DEX, Crit dependent classes like FENCER, DOPPEL, ARCHERS and some MONK/SADHU will be greatly affected…
  • how about the Falcon’s slot and hunter pet planned improvement stat and controlability?
  • and also if you could tweak, fix and improve the sub-weapon’s autoswap and fake multi hits while using skills from different subclass like cannoner, musketeer & corsair and more
  • and also consider changing the weight of some items like stone pellet and wheel (70 weight for a stone is insane if you will remove max weight from STR)
  • do skill, stat, and clas.s reset be available everyday for certain days during rebalance’s first week?
  • and if you will release RANK 9 consider adding skill slots and improve the MOUSE control… please consider adding SERVER to SERVER GvG/TBL or inter-SERVER guild invitations, different TBL areas where theres stairs, elevation and objects for cover, marriage and housing system, and bubble chat that’s clickable on top of head like in RO

(this is my first and will be the last comment here, im gonna hibernate for now until i see the rebalance and rank 9)

== goodluck and more power & patience to all GMs / Devs == (^__^)

No, that is not true.
Magic in RO never “missed”, it only showed up as a “miss” if it got completely negated if the target had 100% protection against that element or if the target was wearing magic-nullifying equipment (like GTB card), but you were never able to “dodge” magic attacks by the agi/evasion stat.

Or are you talking about RO2? That game i never played.

You’ll be able to use more equipment that gives you crit rate.
My guess is more armor pieces and more weapons will get higher crit rate bonuses so if you want to have high crit rate you’ll have to use these equipments.

Hello, Staffs, I have some question.
" 1.Log Scale Down Formula
damage = (% factor) x attack x log10 ((attack / defense + 1)^0.x + 1) + additional damage “
In that formula, attack and defense are belong same one character, or attack of attacker and defense of be-attacked ?
If both of they are belong same character, I can understand “but amp up your defense over a certain level and your character’s attack would drop dramatically”. And formular damege when a character A with attackA and defenseA attack a characterB with defense B ? If not, pls, explain “but amp up your defense over a certain level and your character’s attack would drop dramatically”.
I see " 0.X”. What is that specification ? And how to calculate that specification ?
2-2. Stat Changes
After critical chance get removed from DEX,damage of a critical hit has change ?And please provide formula of crit dame.
I’m sorry for my English not well.
Thank you.

Now, given the immeasurable amount of effort and funds already invested in the current transcendence system by so many players, we can’t simply apply the changes without compensation. Our plan is to, after resetting all transcended equipment, convert all the materials invested into the new unified Goddess’ Blessed Gems and distribute them back to the players. Any recipes and Blessed Gems you may have saved will also be exchanged for the new versions.

I saw this and would you confirm something for me? Would it give back 100% or would it give back only 90% regardless of potential?

Do you consider the possibility of removing the gem-extraction penalties from the equipment at least during the event? I think some of my equipment may become obsolete with changes in stats and the exit of the critical rate!

Got similar questions about others regarding stat changes:

  1. Crit chance/resistance. Since they are no longer affected by DEX/CON respectively, what do they depend on now?
  2. STR increases accuracy while DEX increases critical damage? can you explain why this is the decision? Typically DEX increases accuracy while STR increases anything damage related.
  3. SPR now affects both Summons ATK/DEF as opposed to originally having INT affecting attack and SPR affecting DEF? so what does INT have to do with summons now?
