Yeah, Musketeer with running shot is truly cool. However you can use it just as well with 1Hbow+Cannon/2HBow, so he means that Cannoneer has more synergy. And he is probably right, if talking about solo play. But for optimized party it’s very debatable.
Derael is right, I just forgot to tell that I was thinking of solo play, since I’m mostly a lone wolf.
IMC buffed archers so much that you can’t go wrong with either.
why does nobody take SR into their build? are they that bad?
I’d rather say they are unpopular. People just don’t know what to expect. And they don’t have Trot like Cata.
If it was possible to make mounted linker, I’d definitely make a party of catas/SRs and linker to share trot.
But now it won’t fit in most parties I think. Still pretty usable for fun.
i mean the idea of holding crossbow and handgun at the same time. now that’s what i call baddass. yet nobody included SR (-д-;)
I feel like SR doesn’t have enough synergy with other archer classes, that’s all. Back in the first CBTs you had to dismount to use any non-SR skill, and that was terrible. I don’t know if they changed it, but I’m sure that detail drove many people away from the class.
wtf dismount every single time? that’s absurd.
it’s like taking the only good reason for becoming SR
Yes, it used to be like that in the first kCBT. That was long ago though. It most likely has changed (I sure hope it has), but I can see how that would make people lose interest in the class and not look into it again, even it that got fixed.
Take me for example, as soon as I saw that in video the SR class was dead and buried for me. I don’t even know if they changed that, haha!
but if they do change it imagine how it works with running shot.
As of right now, you have to dismount to use running shot. The buff remains while you’re mounted.
but… why… (-д-;)
Not bad.
Just not as likeable as an really really large chunk of damage on one hit. xD
SR is actually a really good class… we archer players keep silent.
To hog all of it’s glory. And the cute outfit to ourself.
I don’t plan on makeing one (at the start). As my build creatly profits from Archer>sapper>cannoner combo… together with falconer or rouge or both of them. As applicator for mechanics or snyergies.
xD

Dismount is really weird.
But you only can use certain skills while riding, the same as Cataphract.
They probably should open up all skills that don’t require jumping or somethign crazy to rider jobs … as logn as animation fits.
BUT here’s the point.
You need to animate ALL these skills for the rider jobs… which takes time and money ^^.

Not gonna happen anytime soon.

I would play that. After considering it … IF i had a good ping xD…
It has enough synergy with QS3 though.
It was fixed already, SR is a pretty good class now. You need to dismount only for some skills like Pavise and Stone picking.
You don’t have to dismount for Running shot as I know. This reddit post is so old.
Well, I’m sad to see that things still remain bad for SR then.
Even if the skill works while mounted, having to dismount to use them just feels very unintuitive and honestly a pain to do everytime you want to activate it. I can’t see myself dismounting every 30 seconds or so while grinding for hours on end. Urgh.
Ohh that’s nice to hear.
But these skills are the most important ones xD…
IMC …
Actually it’s normal that you have to dismount in order to place trap/pick stone from the ground. You don’t need to dismount for shooting skills though.
here it is.
Actually, I know how I’ll use my Hoglan
SR is able to use running shoot while mounted.
Thought of a build to utilise the higher manoeuvrability of SR with running shot and sneak hit. You should be able to get behind the monsters quite reliably while performing AA.
Archer > QS 3 > Rogue 1 > SR 2
Is there a video of someone using the musket with running shot and possibly kneeling shot? Everyone says musket is faster, yet every video I have seen shows them using a crossbow with running and kneeling shot.
Musket isn’t faster, speed is the same. Musket may look faster, but it’s just an illusion.
