not quite sure if you were being sarcastic or not, however i cant say much in terms of better HOWEVER, successful wise RO was and probably will still remain more successful than most MMO’s out there, If this game wants to scratch that surface then its gonna take a lot more than what it has to offer right now in the beta, the fact that they are releasing open beta already is like saying HEY we’re ready this is the game in 100%. Which to me and many others is not that impressive putting aside any other comparisons to any other MMO’s.

Truth be told I’m not as worried about this game dying prematurely like RO2 did. I do think it has a lot of room for improvements though, and the improvements we call for are not impossible to implement.

ToS stands on a pretty good foundation in terms of art design, music, and game mechanics. It’s only problem right now is playability - that damned quest system is so half-baked it really takes away from the game. Doing the quest the 3rd time in the coming OBT might just snap me.

Monster seems to be weak-ish but I just got to mage tower (lvl 113), and things seems to be getting a bit harder.

I don’t see a fundamental problem with the game that cannot be fixed (unlike the numerous problems in RO2).

Monsters get damn scary once you reach 180+ 2-3 archer mobs can one shot me tt

ToS have no future without massPvP (not like 5x5 bg). I hope devs understand it.

GvG will not be implemented in the short term. I’d say 2-3 years before we see it.

Unfortunately this game will not be 2-3 years for development. А year after the release we will see an empty server, if imc dont entered massPvP.

The experience of overall is somewhat not fun enough.

  1. Leveling
  • It is a Tree of Solo, I see pure Tanker/Full Support are trashes, while all DPSer able to solo well.
  • As a result, who play this category will end up stuck and disappointed. Tanker who can’t have awesome tank, and support can’t have awesome support, because attacker don’t really need them.
  • And Boss is very slow, no normal attack, predictable and easy to avoid damage. (No use for pure tanker)
  • High level map have too many slow and passive mobs, and tanker have no way to pull a mobs train to have awesome tank. Mobs also buggy and leave their spot after a really short range, can’t we just remove the range? Also, there is limit of aggro number? It is very easy for low level to roaming around high level map because they move too slow and passive.
  • At the same time, caster cooldown is too high to synchronize a effective party leveling.
  • The level gap is basically 5, I think it is too small to have a high level friend to carry you when exp become significant less for them. Especially for those support/tank who need carry the most.
  1. Boss
  • I agree the Boss design is way too common, no story behind, no characteristic and not awesome, not even have dialogue or voice. I never remember correctly any of them.
  • No fast normal attack that can KO you, too slow to chase you, this is why bossing doesn’t need a tanker and supporter.
  • Can’t we have a small/medium size boss? why only XL
  • No spawn in random spot and suddenly chase you and would KO you, which make it less exciting.
  • Death with using iCoin to resurrect on current point, yes this is definitely a terrible idea. I hope it will not be in OBT

I hear that mobs get a lot harder at higher levels.

I agree on the story presentation though. There’s nothing in ToS that is memorable. I want to blame it on GitHub translations, but I’m not sure the story written in Korean is any better either.

This is a forum with the purpose of making TOS better from other players point of view. Everyone is free to give their opinion whether good or bad. U dont like what others say, its your problem. Its not like u own the forum.

the GVG will indeed be a very big obstacle for TOS to tackle, every successful MMO had some sort of nice PVP if not GVG. not 100% people have to like it but atleast 50% must

The not memorable hits the spot right on the dot, every game has to be remembered for something so far. This game to me is 1. looks like RO upgraded to modern time in terms of visuals 2. Music is by far one of the best out of all mmos 3… cant think of anymore

Some of the quests are pretty good if you read them. For example the one that put a memorial on Zachariel cross road.

Well overall the game could use some story improvements though

I believe IMC shot their own feet wen the removed Agility and Luck, there is not a single RPG out there thats is not balanced around those 7 quintessential stats, namely, Strenght, Constitution, Intelect, Spirit, Dexterity, Agility and Luck, besides, by removing agility, they handicapped their build paths and overall character customisation, not to mention, that stats are treated as equals among classes, Ex: Strenght is as useful for a warrior as it is for an archer, whereas a archer needs not to be strong, but dextrous, and they way ToS handles stats, you cannot have dex giving more dmg to archers as its already giving crit rate, but if we just had Agi and Luck implemented, archers would be better throughout the game, by simply having stats meant for his class.
What i mean is, if we moved the crit rate to a diferent stat, and let different classes handle stats in a unique way, there will be more ways to build your character than just full STR early, full DEX late.
Also, no thief class, simply because there is no stat variety to set then apart from swordsman.
Oh, almost forgot, if everyone is special, no one is special. Lame main story, you and everyone else is the special revelator that will save the world, at least you are not the choosen “one” eh!

yeah… as i said before seems like they just “TRIED” to copy things that worked from other mmos without properly thinking how it worked for the other mmos. I really am hoping this game succeeds, but with everything shown, the fact is the structure of this game is flawed, its very unlikely they’ll do any big changes to this game therefore chances of this game being one of the next biggest hits is slim to none sadly, just my honest opinion, dont get me wrong i really hope i am wrong in the end and this game draws in millions of ppl as i have waited for this to come out for awhile now, sadly its just a disappointment

Active population of all servers just went down so much, this game is turning out to be another flop sadly, the hype train died… guess we can only wait for another game

Most people complaining here just sound like they never try the social aspect of an MMO and actually have a party or interact with other players.
