Level 163 Rank 275 Player's Opinion Of This Game

when your stuck at 176 and not bothering to level you just chat with your 30 + friends you made in game, but even that gets old thanks your feedback

If the game design is good, you will automatically interact with other player in the MMO, or even have fun by choose to be a solo player.

If interacting with actual human beings gets old for you, then the issue might be you getting bored with everything you do.

Also there are more social options than just chatting.

With a party you could try to find new places to grind where you could not do it solo.

You could duel to get some PvP insight.

You could talk about something else than just levels.

I agree that a good game design is a must, but I dont think that they should give you an explicit and direct way to do so.

Having some challenge and having to be a bit creative is also part of a game

They shouldn’t give an explicit way , but they should promote creativity, not “I must find my way to feel fun in this game because this game is not fun when I’m playing it”.

Which is what happened to most of the player between level 80 and level 127, and after level 175.

Sorry, I might haven’t explained myself properly.

The players shouldnt have the feel that they must find a way to have fun, if you get to that point it’s almost certain that the game doesn’t have enough content for you to enjoy.

But what I wanted to address is that the players that take their time and talk to others, spend time with other people even if that means going a bit slower, they end up enjoying and exploring more aspects of the game.

Im not saying that the game should be a party oriented game, but people shoulnt complain that much just because they didnt make the perfect grindfest speed run to level cap on their 1st character during CBT.

While I agree that any problem you encounter in the game should be posted as feedback, you need to see the game as a whole before saying the game is trash, just because it fails in some aspects doesnt mean that its totally unplayable, which a lot of people do, and that could lead the developers to focus on less important stuff rather than implementing solutions for actual game breaking issues.

TOS stat’s attribute so easy to read because using actual value, even someone who dont know math can see the value right away. i might said this is good for some who bad at math, i even learning math to figure out the output damage, they make our brain dont need to work :frowning:

Maybe u shouldn’t compare to RO, where each stats have its own benefit, where dex monk make faster ashura cast.
But see from TOS angle, only some stat u need to focus on, while other stat not mainly needed and wont give u benefit compare to other, i might said this make game simple, but not various build works. well if u compare to RO, we might said the stat was unbalance right away. but from my point of view they want to make it more simple, something like MAIN stat, and secondary stat benefits.

CONCLUSSION:
This game was made so newbie player can also enjoy the game for sure, everything was so simple to read, u dont even need to learn math or use ur big brain to works. (caution, this make u stupid)

You dont have to figure various stat’s attribute(STR,DEX,INT,CON,SPR) build, they already simplified it with main stat for each class, so u cant expand what possibility your brain told you(im preety sure limiting creativity as well)

But the good things, they make class RANK, but only several build can synergy well enough so they wont use other build with less synergy(again limiting your creativity)

WHAT NEED TO BALANCE/IMPROVE?

DEX gives too many benefits, if other stat also get such 0.1-0.9 crit rate, i hope it will balance it.

ARMOR, full DEX and FULL CON have same defense with same armor, say u get 0.5 def def if u fill some stat u might get various build to consider.

CLASS RANK, make less attractive class rank to gives class attribute to consider, the build will be spread again. such -magic damage 20% for swordman, i definitely will consider get that

MY opinion might be wrong, at least i want TOS filter what they can improve to balance the game.
they need game system architect to balance game. coz from what i know, restricted class before already balance, then they open whole class to pick, but they dont rebalance it again.

ofc it IS playable. Just that its not fun.

I agree with many thing said in this thread.

Quests are terrible. Lots of them and no variety. If people like them fine but give us grinders an alternative. Shorten CDs, make mobs hit harder, run faster, and make them easier to mob. Bump up the exp a bit and grinding will be far better.

I don’t know how to fix stats. I reset my archer to have nothing but INT and she kills decently. It’s like the skills and equips are such a big factor that stats don’t have a large impact.

Reached level 200 to have the rights to speak on forums, and sadly, i agree with 90% you have said. Years waiting just to find a better version of RO2. Not going too far since it’s already explained, i’ll rate the game as:

Disappointment

Also, no reason to bring 50 ppl from another game, guilds are useless here. And no GvG.

This game has its flaws. But honestly it’s not as bad as you guys make it sound.

Graphics + BGM is still awesome.

Combat mechanics are decent.

Class system is interesting - imo

Economy seems ok (hard to conclusively tell in cbt)

Stats are ok - Not perfect but I don’t see glaring problem either.

Most problems are thanks to:
Shitty quest translation / presentation. Nothing wrong with the storyline, but the way its told / presented… is worse than a 9 year old writing stories. I blame GitHub.

Limited non linear play - Part of the lousy quest system that hold hands too much, preventing exploration. Quest / dungeons often do not have gaps that encourage you to explore other places. e.g. a long gap in main quest from lvl 35 --> lvl 50, forcing you to explore other places. Side quest are not isolated enough, they are often part of the main quest chain. Tenet farm quest, owl burial quest are examples of good isolated side quest, IF they just don’t link it from the main quest, and let players explore it. HECK DITCH THE MAIN QUEST AND MAKE EVERYTHING SIDEQUEST WOULD YOU.

Monster AI that works too slow. They never catch you, reach you in time, or apply damage effectively (including bosses). IMO if they doubled the speed of the mob AI it’d be fine. On the plus side, mobs walk faster / hit harder post lvl 100, but it hasn’t forced me to party up regularly yet.

Shitty mob spawns - monsters have a magical leash that pulls them back to spawn if they wander off too far - wtf is this crap, we need RO style free roam / random spawn / mob. Also mob spawns are not strategic, like anubis / minorus / pasana combo in RO sphinx 4. No irritating mobs - like familiar, mimic & the likes. No mobs that counter specific classes, like mimic > mage, Geographer > melee.

iCoins resurrection in CBT - bye priest/cleric who needs support.

Broken friend list - wtf MMO without friends

Broken whisper - wtf can’t talk to people I want to again

Broken Party chat - what’s the difference from soloing

Broken market - How to sell my junk / my 1,000,000 silver item just got eaten WTF!!

Except for the quest system / mob ai / mob spawn, all the other problems should be fixed by OBT. Which will make it at least an average game (better than RO2)

Unless imc ditch GitHub (I doubt it) and hire a proper full time English quest team (even lower likelihood), I expect ToS to see limited success at OBT/early launch, but will still have a following of diehard anime style fans. If it gets enough funding to last 2 years, we might see something closer to the success of RO1.

TLDR:
The game assets are meticulously crafted (art, music, skill, mechanic), but the game is hastily assembled, shitty quest, shitty AI, shitty spawn. It’s a shame really.

In simple words…i find this game is too easy. So Easy yet so long almost never ending of repetitive easy tasks. The monsters…the bosses…the quests; all too easy making party play unnecessary . Like No sense of challenge and reward. As if this game is made for the lazy and stupid. Plus anti social.

yeah i feel that way to about anti social, because solo much appeal than party in here
my point is make everything scaling and balance, make various stat/class build synergy and works, push party more so player interact with more humans, they will depend on each other, they will communicate, because this is MMORPG
Aside from bugs which is understanbable there are things i am disapointed.

 1. Lack of towns
 2. Linear progression
 3. 80 classes but only few weapons and armors???

but still tos is far better than most mmo today…only few skill bu all have purpose, Music is epic, Art is cool, the gamplay is awesome, and that 80 classes is insane just the thought of choosing your class path is enjoyable.

But there is this one thing that makes me excited “guild system” IDK how they implement it but I still have my hopes in this game…not that much hype as before tho.

That’s the thing about this game, i know many people ( who didnt have work or school) who have already capped in this game, i would say 80% + thats already being nice its probably higher than that, 80%+ people that have reached cap have have a bad review of this game, people who haven’t felt the whole thing from scratch to end seem to still have hope. Dont get me wrong in the earlier levels i had hope to but honestly, around 180 you just get fed up and know theres nothing more coming. Every MMO review site says Ooooo so many bosses, honestly… if you pasted a picture of every boss in this game from level 1-200 on a piece of paper. You’d probably would that most of them look just like each other. If you put a flash picture of each boss, you’d probably know they have almost identical skills. Classes? 80? honestly the devs should have put more time into 1 class than just waste time thinking how i can bring the numbers of classes higher. every map you go, how many different classes do you see? people dont realize that we shouldnt even be counting the first 2-3 rank classes. They’re just prequels. they just slapped a high number to make it sound nice same concept on the boss count. corsair double weapon assault is by far the best example of failed ideas. almost 50 seconds buff, then you spam z and c for auto attack LOL,… what GOOD mmo game do you see people spamming 2 keys for AUTO attacks. They really ran outta ideas so they just thought throwing it in there for fun might be worth it. You can really tell which ideas were thought out carefully and which weren’t. Honestly i give A+ for creativity, but a F for presentation. Just waiting for the korean OBT now, my korean friends will keep me updated on how it goes for them. I pray it’ll be better, if not then then game will just be another failed attempt to succeed RO, yes comparing it to RO… why? why do people get offended from comparing this game to RO i really dont get it? It’s not people just deny the similarities or things that they’ve TRIED to take from RO. People dont even realize the game creator SPECIFICALLY requested RO PLAYERS to the FGT. why not ask WoW players why ONLY RO players specifically, Think on it and you’ll get why not only players but the devs are comparing this to RO too thanks

As i’ve said earlier i dont mind the bugs, those aren’t even close to the main problems for this game, its beta bugs are normal, Its everything else that isn’t. Having a fun beginning in a game is not that impressive, every game has the “freshness” to keep ppl curious and interested. well MOST games. its what happens after the freshness fades that make the game important, when you start repeating things… you ask(example: endless quest, endless grinding, endless boring bosses) is it worth it to keep repeating? is it rewarding? (quests: exp cards)(monsters; exp (barely any gears worth mentioning))(boss: exp? maybe even nothing? gears? yeah right) and so on. Well, i dont like beating around the bush, a good game is a good game, no point in lying or denying it. Why do we play a game? cause we hope its fun or because we’re bored? etc. Why do i play this game? i hope it could be the next good modern RO (look ALIKE) game not next RO game. sadly this is literally just the next RO look a like. You’ll see my friend, unless OBT korea changes that. So far kCBT and iCBT are both a bust for most people

actual value? have you really researched about this game? 200 crit rate doesnt mean you have 200% crit rate, thats just 1 of the MANY examples that you haven’t understood about the stat values. Focusing on 1 stat defeats the purpose of a STAT BUILDER CONCEPT. Why let players build when really you limit the build to 1-2 things. Stat building concept IMO is by no means suppose to just be simple, if its simple you might as well make it auto level up stats. Stats build is to let the player have control over what type of unique play style they can mix and match up with their skills. not just blindly say dam this stat useless this one useless kk i’ll just put it in this 2. should i go 2:1? 1;1? 3:1? etc

I couldnt have said it better myself, honestly i just find myself TRYING to find fun after level 160+ still looking havent found it yet

And how is RO any different (especially beta phase RO)? From lvl 1-90 its all grind. RO equips are even less interesting (pretty much all common item equivalent, stats are generally in cards).

I do agree that the game is poorly assembled. Quest, drop structure, EXP, monster spawn, monster AI, map structure, npc, are poorly done. Most of it feels cheap and quickly slapped on together.

I think Devs spent too much time building the assets and neglected to work out the details for game play…
