In ToS physical classes still need STR/DEX for damage, DEX/CON for survival, that’s 3 stats out of 5. Mages need INT/CON/SPR 3/5 stats.
In RO melee needed STR/DEX/CON, AGI for flee builds and LUK for crit builds 3/6 stats. Archers needed AGI/DEX/CON 3/6 stats. Mages needed INT/DEX/CON.
I don’t see whats so different.
Grind in this game suck because there’s too little variety in grinding. It feels limiting to grind only 1 map in each level range all the time.
So true. I’m in the position that imc can’t use free translations for main quest. The outcome is just a soup with too many cooks. The story has no character at all, nothing is memorable at all.

Not really, no good skill can be crafted into a scroll and being pardoner sucks

My favourite thing about pardoner at the moment is Indulgentia. But you’re right, at the moment it seems as though it’s been nerfed into the ground which makes me sad

In ToS, the most you would invest is 3 options, while RO stands at anywhere from 3-5, your variations would be a lot more from RO(The game they pretty much took the idea from) that’s why i’m using RO as the comparison. Dont get me wrong u can put stats in all of these in TOS, however it would pretty much be meaningless, in RO you would see ppl raising AGI to a certain number just to get the whole number ASPD, or luk for the whole % and so on, even with knights str dex and vit agi as well but if some point were left it would be better to leave in luk or int, SOME rare cases.

No point in being against people comparing features from this game to features they got ideas from ANOTHER game, If the comparison was irreleveant i’d understand, however as i have stated any comparisons made to RO is because of that FEATURE alone and why or how it worked for RO, In no way do i expect this game to be RO, I like many others who post here with feedback hope this game can succeed as i have said i have waited and hoped for many years on this game only to end in disappointment, however i still wish they would improve in the future. If i have said I WISH THIS GAME WAS LIKE RO, then i would understand, my only concern here is I WISH THEY WOULD MAKE features they took from other games as effective as it was for other games. Theres no denying the success of other games like WoW, RO, Lineage, Runescape, Everquest, GW, and so forth, so the big question is WHY DID they succeed, if youre gonna take features from any of these games at least study on HOW it worked for them, not just the fact that o hey this worked lets take it without copying it completely 100%. (the not copying it 100% already ruined it because its not the same therefore wont have the same effectiveness in this game.

among 3 money making class alche, pardon and squire only alchemist can get a good amount from their skills. Two other classes sucks so bad.
Interesting but I think nothing will change much. before KR announce OBT I thought everything can change but after that announce I see the time is not enough for change much. When OBT ToS will go Viral for around 1-2 month if no big update this game will slowly die after that like RO2 was.

After playing 200+ hours of the game I think the reason grinding gets boring is because the combat feels slow. By “feels slow” I’m talking about cooldowns, attack/skill damage scaling, sp/hp regen and sp costs of skills. I didn’t play RO much but from what I remember every class had at least 1 skill that they could use with little to no cooldown while grinding early game, even if it had a heavy sp cost.
In ToS the closest thing to spammable skills are swordsman’s thrust and archers oblique shot. While swordsman can compensate the low starting sp/sp regen with auto attacks, archer (due to how their auto attack damage works against different sized monsters) don’t have that luxury until later in the game. Wizards and clerics suffer from the long cooldowns, high sp regen and terrible early game damage scaling. Clerics do have the option to go full str and head for monk/paladin and wizards have the option to go for pyro but everything else seems lackluster and slow.
The way the game is currently everyone is playing a variation of 1 or 2 builds for each class successfully and the other less popular builds people struggle leveling or get carried by a friend until they can make their build work somehow. I’m not saying that every build in the game should farm as fast as barbarians do now, but for the vast majority of people who will play this game in open beta/launch a lot will be turned off after theory crafting a build and then finding out that they should have just made a barb/pyro if they wanted to have fun leveling.
tldr:
#1 game needs more item and build diversity
#2 quests are of low quality (srs, i have played mmos for 5 years+, quests do “suck” in all them, aka boring as hell)
#3 boss fights need more diversity
i agree with 1 and 3. Just look at the arde dagger meta, its like the ONLY item build there is for off hand, until you reach 170 to get the next dagger. Just no alternatives.
Totally agree with you, if this were still in the CBT phases of plans, then a lot of changes could be expected, but probably due to company deadlines to bring in some revenues or budget issues, they are planning to release it soon. IMO it seems way too early for the release in any of the countries but hey, i guess thats not their main concern right now. I just hope they can keep up with the changes before all the players decide to jump ship. Im pretty sure i say this for everyone when i say, “we dont wanna play this game before nothing else better is out at the moment, we want to play this game because its actually really good”
I love how people are comparing a closed beta game to other games which had years of updates in it. The reason why you are on closed beta is to provide feedback. ToS is not yet on Open beta in KR.
And please, ToS is not RO. They’re completely 2 different games. If you feel that RO is a better game, then stay in it. Nobody is forcing you to be here. ToS will never be RO because of the difference in progression.
Some people prefer questing over grinding.
Some prefer new experiences over nostalgia.
Get over it.

Obviously you haven’t read why people compare this game to RO at the same time you haven’t read much about this game either. Have you ever even thought about why IMC invite veteran RO players, yes RO players to their focus testing group? didn’t read it? go over to the korean forums when you have time. Only one who seems to be complaining seems to be you. People who’ve written here have all put their constructive feedback. Why cant we compare a game in beta to other games? were you there in RO vanilla? I was it was bugged, but the content was sure satisfying still. Just because a game is in beta doesn’t mean anything, The fact is they’re already preparing for open beta meaning they dont care much for the problems of this game. Have you read the other 100+ feedback posts on this forum? pretty much everyones talking about what this topic has been talking about. If you dont like people’s feedback then move on to the next thread. thanks

But if ToS compare to RO. ToS survival rating are higher then RO, actually.
Can jump. Can smash those monsters up to the sky(actually quite fun when smash them up, felt like playing PS1 Jacky Chan(China Town). Even can throw monster! It much more better then RO already. (Mage class can solo boss now, if want me use my lvl99 wizard to hunt that Golden Bug, Baphomet and other). Ohhh…hell no

Calm now, this game is much more better then RO already if really need to compare to RO.
