It seems that IMC is planning on changing the components in creating a humon. New skill management for the creature. And lastly they will be removing the 1 week lifespan of it.

Homun might actually end up being a stable part of the alchemistā€™s playstyle. And then having trashy damage abilities might make some sense.

I mean it is important for them as well but you are absolutely wrong about Beak Mask. Is it one of the strongest skills in the entire game.

The ability to completely nullify Rank 2 debuffs is game changing in PvP, and as someone who has played PD seflishly for almost a year, I am constantly being told to use Bloodletting by my party members. I donā€™t even know why they want it vs Blut but they made a big deal out of it if I forget.

Beak Mask is all the greatness of Bloodletting but with Rank 3 at 80% chance and an ugly mask on top of it.

Bloodletting the biggest reason to take PD just got moved onto the kill yourself skill and now has 10 second duration and 30 second CD. That means if you donā€™t want to be CCā€™d Beak Mask is the only option.

Idk what all it doesnā€™t block but even being equal to Bloodletting makes it amazing since bloodletting is now removed. I currently play a BM in PvP. If you asked me my two highest damage skills Iā€™d tell you Bloodletting and Tase. OH those are both level 3 debuffs ā€œWell TPK surely nobody is dumb enough to die to those skills only right?ā€ Thatā€™s right, which is why to guarantee it I use Stone Shot to follow up on them after a Smash Bullet, and thatā€™s a rank 1 debuffā€¦ so Beak Mask basically protects you from all my current most functioning character can do. (Assuming thatā€™s not on the list of debuffs that are not counting atm, I actually donā€™t know but I doubt it at least for Smash Bullet)

Honestly the level 3 arenā€™t even the problem here Slows, Sleep, Freeze, Shrink Body, Stun, ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  JOUST SILENCE! As if that was ever needed. I only want Beak Mask because bloodletting was ā– ā– ā– ā–  on but itā€™s pretty important and one of the best skills in the game.

I feel itā€™s hard to justify using beak mask when youā€™re going to have bloodletting on you at all times anyway. Blocking lv 3 at 80% is cool but itā€™s really not needed when bloodletting keeps you mostly safe from status, and the other benefits of the mask arenā€™t thta great.

Also, Bloodletting is still in the game. It was merged into Methodone (yes, itā€™s not a buff that not only prevents casting interruption and knockdown, but gives you status immunity as well) and its duration WAS increased it seems, at least the last time I checked it.

This skill probably is good in PVP like you say, but in PVE it is really ignorable. You canā€™t say the same about Dragoon and Murmilloā€™s helmets though. Theyā€™re pivotal to the way the entire class works.

If the new data on tos.guru is right, the nerf on Diev wasnā€™t that bad.

15 hits durability and only hits once per tick, but the skill factor was increased to 100% (so max 160% per hit with maxed enhancement attribute). The duration still exceeds 40 seconds (max 50 seconds at lvl 15) so you can have up to 3 owls dealing up to 160% per tick.

Imo they need to boost the durability quite a bit (maybe to 30 hits like Merkabah) so you can use them more efficiently without employing a healing skill like Mass Heal or Chortasmata or Tree of Sephiroth every time you set up the owls in endgame dungeons or CM.

Btw, they boosted a lot of skill factors, Inquisitor and Exorcist are really powerful now, Iā€™m getting happier by the hour xD

Hmm. I actually am considering to return to thsi wacky game for rebuild, it sounds like a pretty neat update. I wonder if a Diev/Miko/X or a Priest/Miko/X build would be sensible.

The former sounds like itā€™d do at least some damage as well, the latter would probably be much heavier in support. What if one added exorcist to them? Would that be a sensible approach, from the way they are balancing it?

Iā€™m also sort of interested in diev/miko/x even after the nerfs. But what would be the final class? Something that can heal the owls I guess. But you also still have to prioritise SPR damage for the owls right?

I was also considering Kabbalist for that, it looks really good to heal dem owls.

How would you heal owls with kabba? Tree of sephiroth? Owls have 15 hp right?

I donā€™t think so, given that potions were boosted.
There is a video from ktest Velcoffer, he doesnā€™t hit as nearly as hard as currently (about 3-5k on ktest gears).

With the current boost on Alchemist potion recovery values, Iā€™d say itā€™s better to go for damage rather than recovery, people can pot instead and survive the same.

Also, judging by the video (a full support Cleric>Kabba>Miko>Priest + some Swordie,Archer, and 2xWizard )you need every bit of damage you can get now, so itā€™s better to exchange e.g. a non-Cleric in the party for a damage Cleric (the difference between Cleric & non-Cleric in terms of damage on endgame is small except for a few Classes like Cannoneer) is so he can sustain the run if he canā€™t survive without heals on another Class.

Iā€™d sacrifice any Cannoneer for a Krivis to boost party damage without batting an eye.

Yeah, the owls would have to survive that long (i.e. 21 seconds downtime) or die.
Edit: The only viable option seems to be Priest.

What about Paladin? Would the owls be healed by Restorationā€™s aura?

I noticed they actually nerfed QSā€™s caltrop significantly. Since 2 weeks ago I was really hoping that they would continue to leave it alone, because itā€™s QS only really good damage skill, but alasā€¦

Not entirely related, but how good is Cartar now? Used to be one of my favorite skills back when it wasā€¦ very visibly powerful, but itā€™s spent the longest time in the shadows since then.

the nerfed all installments damage, not only owls but caltrops and Inquis Pears of Anguish as well.
No idea why.

Oh gosh, I realized even Zaibas is nerfed. Wish someone can compile the changes, or that we can somehow access a 1 week ago version of tos.guru/ktest/simulator

Ktest just got a new client patch (not content but client patch).

Maybe the performance will increase?

Is no one going to talk about how they nerfed the s-hit out Thaumaturge again. Literally went from 16% flat dmg bonus to about 700 dmg with 800 dex.

Live they can double the dmg of your group and on ktest they are only there for farming. No point to bring thaumaturge now for anything

This was tested prior to sundays patch though, so thereā€™s a small chance that it changed already.
Heal also worked during the targeting glitch.

Priest is obviously the better candidate due to having both revive and mass heal to keep owls alive, but no idea if even that is enough tbh.

Hm, when I played, owls didnā€™t die that fast - are they THAT much more fragile now? If so, no wonder the idea I had didnā€™t work. I really would want to make a miko though :frowning:

Perhaps one should go more offensive? Like X-Miko-Inquisitor? back when I played, you could self-buff inquidamage with kagura dance, butā€¦ :confused:

Miko really seems to be a nobrainer together with diev, though.

Miko now only buffs magic damage with Kagura
