Gnarf. Thanks, and sorry for being an idiot about this That kinda sucks.
Wonder where the point is. Mostly for supporting a full magic party? Gohei seems to be magic, perhaps one can somehow make it work as a magic damage supporter? Really screams Diev then. Not sure what other classes even make sense, other than Priest, Paladin or Kabbalist for healing, and that’s unfortunate.
Cleric Smite got a little nerf. Iron skin stays the same. Double Punch probably stays the same. Palm Strike damage got a decent increase but Hand Knife damage got decreased. One Inch Punch got a tiny buff. God Finger Flick got a decent buff, but yeah Single Target, only great on Inquisitor builds. Golden Bell Shield got no change.
But the worst one, is how Energy Blast got a little damage boost in exchange for now being Physical only, and not Holy Physical like with iToS or Holy Physical Strike when ToS 2.0 first came out. Also still retains its infinite knockback.
Basically the buffs and nerfs equal out each other AKA Nothing changed on Monk, still hanging on life support.
“Overall, skills received a 15% increase on average”
EDIT: I think IMC balanced Monk’s damage thinking only Monks can auto-attack, and thinks hit delay doesn’t exist with Double Punch to keep getting this dumb treatment with the damage balancing compared to other damage classes as if other classes cannot auto-attack. Only game-changer is if Double Punch actually does more than 50% x 2 damage now or procs 2 auto-attack buffs now.
taoist seems strong
edit : at 0.50 of the first video, you can see his attacks missing on the insect mobs, maybe flat accuracy (purple stat) is needed as someone who has been playing on the test server told me.
With all the dumb things IMC did to Monks, I wish IMC make Iron Skin’s blue-ish aura persist on the character so Monks have blue auras and Iron Skin is worth at least one point.
@thepurpleknightmare sorry for the late reply. you can hide dragoon/murmillo/beakmask helmets by hiding your ‘hair wig’. in the inventory screen you press the little icon on the hair/wig slot to hide it and it will also hide the helmet buffs. edit: this has been a feature for almost a year - it’s weird that literally nobody knows about it.
Can we get a list of all Taoist changes? I’m using Google Translate but i’m not sure if these are right…
It seems like Tri-disaster gives +50% Fire, Ice and Lightning damage, Eradication and Creeping Death deal [Lightning] damage now instead of just [Magic] and the new Lightning Charm buff says something about a chance of dealing +50% damage.
In my opinion, all classes should have one, no more nor less, class attribute, one without restrictions that would define its gameplay style and have synergy with other classes.
E.g.: Pyromancer fire mastery (increases all fire damage), Dragoon boss mastery (% armor penetration against bosses), Mergen aoe mastery (increases aoe ratio of skills by %), Paladin aura mastery (increases buff duration for party) etc.
This way class synergy and build path would become so much clear and satisfying.
Day999: still no new news for musketeers
FeelsGarboMan
edit:
i just realized something
they removed musket OH
we still have prime n load
prime n load=refresh cd=extra 1 OH with extra step n extra cooldown
just remove prime n load and give bek OH
but what if prime n load also refresh skills from musket v2?
but once again, dont hope too much cuz its TOS

@4lkruzeth
It would be good for them to review the maximum skill level of Monk’s skills, too.
If Energy blast and Iron skin went up to level 5, it would be very good
I have a well-geared DPS diev in iTOS and can say for a fact that owls currently in iTOS are one of the strongest skills in the whole cleric tree if not across all classes. I am confused why so many people are suddenly “interested” in Diev dps build with Re:build as currently in iTOS dps dievs are rare despite owls being already so powerful. Go ahead and try diev right now in iTOS and if you don’t like it right now, I can bet you won’t like it when Re:build comes because it still faces the glaring issue of being an immobile source of damage that only shines in CM.
Needless to say, I am very disappointed at the recent news of the triple nerfing of diev owls (seems to be based on the rationale that diev is a green class so it must be support and can’t have any damage). I hope the devs change their mind.
Quite incorrect, the nerf absolutely gutted Diev relative to before. Before, maxed owl’s SFR is 140%x3 hits without attribute which is significantly stronger than what you’re saying with 100%x1 hit. Also, owls used to have unlimited AoE, but after the nerf they can only hit a handful of enemies (not to mention there is no reliable way to increase the number of enemies hit by owl after nerf as they have their own AoE attack ratio stat).
Owls tick every 3 seconds in Re:build, so that is incredibly weak.
Chortasmata does not heal owls. In fact, owls are actually hard to keep alive in endgame content in iTOS even with 150 hp, so the fact that they fixed it to 15 hp means that in most content it won’t even be worth it to waste your time casting owl since it will just die before it can get up more than 1-2 hits.
With the most recent changes to diev in kTest, don’t bet on Diev doing damage.
Yes, 15 HP is absolutely worthless in endgame content. Try playing with a level 1 laima and you will see how annoying it is to have your statues dying at the slightest touch.
True, Monks in ToS 2.0 IMO is kinda stretched out points-wise if one wants to maximize on Monk skills. In its current state, one needs to allocate points on Monk according to their build and playstyle to ignore certain skills and focus on other skills, instead of following a cookie-cutter build, which to be honest, sounds nice since its not braindead. The lack of points though makes it hard to utilize Iron Skin with its low scaling, kind of a waste.
In an ideal situation, I prefer IMC to:
Move God Finger Flick down to Level 15 (since it only needs 1 point for most builds)
Move either One Inch Punch or Energy Blast up to Level 5
Move Iron Skin up to Level 10 or just Level 1 Mastery
Move Golden Bell Shield to Level 1 Mastery
With that said, IMC doesn’t give things without a bad twist (just look at what was sacrificed to get Auto-Attack Bound Double Punch) so eh …
