KToS General Thread v4.0

Can we use Smugis and then switch to Kraujas? Assuming we’re filthy rich and have quick hand.

i think so too, those burst builds will surely benefit from the old smugis. savinose korup sounds much a better plan now.

What is the point of the new MAX HP for 10s buff? LOL

nop. they share cd, unfortunally.

Smugis new skill effect is “Additional attack damage”

not Increase damage like Kraujas or Korup.

0.5s like the ice wall fragment damage CD

KTOS Live Patch Notes (5/30)

Many changes were already outlined in a previous preview post of the upcoming changes made in a pre-maintenance notice. This post will only contain the new changes that were not already covered. You can read those previous changes here:

https://forum.treeofsavior.com/t/ktos-general-thread-v4-0/381396/7469

Damage Increase Cap

There is now a damage increase cap of +400% applied for the following categories. This means your bonus damage from these sources cannot exceed +400%.

Applies to:

-Skill Effects
-Modifications to skills from items
-Buff Effects
-Debuff Effects

Does not apply to:

-Legend Cards
-Bonus damage from card effects
-Armor bonuses
-Enchant Jewels
-Critical damage modifiers
-Attribute damage modifiers
-Increased damage based on weapon type
-Increased damage based on your attack type
-Any increases to “final damage”

Items

The amount of materials needed to make Skiaclipse (Varnas) items has been changed.

Before:
Weapon: Skiaclipse Feather x32, Planium x5
Armor: Skiaclipse Feather x7, Planium x2

After:
Weapon: Skiaclipse Feather x19, Planium x3
Armor: Skiaclipse Feather x7, Planium x1

Item Set Bonuses

The 5 set skill bonuses of Skiaclipse (Varnas) have been changed.

Goduma

image
Passive Bonus: Decreases damage received by 1/5 (%) of your missing HP (up to 10%).

Crevox Note: This means the maximum bonus will be achieved when you are missing half your HP (50% * 0.2 = 10% reduction). This effect is active at all times while having the 5 set bonus.

Goduma’s Barrier
Decreases damage received by you and nearby allies based on your max HP. The reduction is equal to [MaxHP / (MaxCharLevel * 2000) * 100%], maximum 50% reduction. This damage reduction is reduced by 1% every 0.5 sec, but will immediately hit 0% when the buff’s duration is over.

Duration: 20 sec
Cooldown: 100 sec

Dragon Strength Lvl 1
Increases the maximum damage reduction to 60%.

Crevox Note: At 100,000 max HP this provides a damage reduction of 11.9%. To hit the maximum damage reduction of 50%, you would need max HP equal to the current maximum character level * 1000, so in the current game, 420,000 max HP. With Dragon Strength, you would need 504,000 max HP for a 60% reduction.

Gymas

image
Now provides two buffs.

Gymas’ Faith
Increases Healing by 40% and reduces SP consumption of all skills by 25%.
Duration: 40 seconds

Gymas’ Favor
Reduces damage received by you and your party by 10%.
Duration: 20 seconds

Cooldown: 80 seconds

Dragon Strength Lvl 1
Reduces SP consumption by an additional 25%.

Smugis

image
Smugis’ Counterattack
Deals damage equal to 1% of the enemy’s max HP every time you hit them with an attack (max 10,000 damage, cooldown of 0.5 sec). Damage is also increased based on the current HP of the enemy (up to 180% damage, scaling down to 0% minimum as the enemy loses HP).

Duration: 20 seconds
Cooldown: 100 seconds

Dragon Strength Lvl 1
Duration is increased by 5 seconds.

EDIT: After testing by KR players, Smugis provides a +% damage increase effect to your own skills/attacks in addition to the 10,000 Smugis hits. The damage increase does not apply to the Smugis hits. This makes it better than Kraujas if the enemy has over 55% HP, but progressively worse as they get lower than that, without having any defensive penalties and an added extra damage per hit every 0.5 sec.

UI Changes

Added ping time beneath the FPS display (packet round trip time from client to server).

Bug Fixes

Many bugs were fixed in the game.

There we go, thanks for clearing it up

Aww that’s too bad. I was actually hoping to see some action if they don’t share cooldown.

Does the skill scale with Zaura card?

Whichever way the translation and effect of Smugis’ Counterattack will be, the effect just feels more and more lacking compared to Korup and Kraujas? Feelsbadman

Who wants to bet that the Smugis debuff also gets overwritten if someone else casts it. Just saying this based on IMC track record at not implementing simple things.

Also nice new set effect 500k damage WoW on a 100 second cd. At least before with the new changes to cap damage on skill effects it had a chance at dealing a lot of damage and it was a contender against Kraujas.

If they stayed with the old set effect at least then it would have had the ability to do 28m damage.

So smugis isn’t worth it anymore?

judging from the translation smugis isnt worth it anymore. its better to stick with korup tbh. but hey imc can buff it up anytime just like savinose set effect. so lets see.

question. when did they buff warlock’s spirit aoe? just curious of when the patch will hit itos. single target spirit alway ALWAYS misses my target and ended up hitting the air…

so Smugis is no longer a counter-attack thematically

Ninja will disappear, no worries.

Seems like smugis is like kraujas but with added effect of 10k damage per sec

(Edit: ninja’d)

The proc would cap out at 400k damage if you’re hitting something for the entire 20s due to the internal cooldown and makes it pretty garbage.

Damage modifier is also deceptive to determine because Bong is a dipshit and is using things like latent venom in the video.

edit: And this actually just makes me annoyed in general because IMC continues to do this thing where they put all this effort into content that no one needs to/will want to do, because at best it’s just a sidegrade to things people already have. Rewards from harder content should be obvious upgrades.

I edited my post about Smugis confirming my initial thoughts on Smugis functionality.

After testing by KR players, Smugis provides a +% damage increase effect to your own skills/attacks in addition to the 10,000 Smugis hits. The damage increase does not apply to the Smugis hits. This makes it better than Kraujas if the enemy has over 55% HP, but progressively worse as they get lower than that, without having any defensive penalties and an added extra damage per hit every 0.5 sec.

My Opinion
Overall, it’s mostly a sidegrade to Kraujas. Most raid bosses in the game will use their deadly skills at lower HP, and at that point, Smugis has become a weak bonus, making it a poor choice for finishing them off. It is excellent for getting them to lower HP, but once they do get lower, its usefulness is greatly diminished. The fact it has no defensive penalty makes it a much safer choice, and the 10,000 damage hits aren’t amazing because as previously stated, this can only truly amount to 400,000 damage in the best scenario (enemy must have at least 1 million max HP and you must be triggering the CD exactly every 0.5 sec).

If you don’t want the damage penalty of Kraujas, but like Kraujas, go with Smugis. On average it’s about the same damage bonus with the slight quirk of being worse on low HP enemies. Overall Smugis is much better if you hate the extra damage you take because of Kraujas, but if that aspect of Kraujas doesn’t bother you, then they’re very similar. It’s also fine if you just want to use Varnas (crow) equipment and want a viable alternative to Kraujas (since Kraujas won’t be available).

If you are a class that can reliably put and keep 8 debuffs on an enemy, Korup is better than both Kraujas and Smugis and is the best, so long as you’re not going past your +400% damage increase limit.

Great! All I wanted to personally know is that Kraujas is still reasonably viable. Thanks Crevox

is there any clip from ktos for dual ichor extraction?
im hoping both equipped ichor could be extracted from legend gear.
