Wow, honestly I am not about to meddle in any of this heated arguments. I respect every player, every decision that each one has for their own character and play style. I have decided to play both the dream scout and the jchsc32 build.
I am not going to compare who is better and who is not. Absolutely no comment on anyone or anything. I once again stress that every individual has their own choice which they think best work for themselves. I hereby thank Dream, jchsc32 and all players who contributed their comments in this thread. I read from post 1 up until the latest one. I appreciate every comment and will definitely find one that is best suited for me and of course based on the information and knowledge that I gained by reading this thread. All of you gave insights to me. Thank you ALL once again.
LOL Bro, I definitely get you. I was a guide writer for RAN online before too. I went through what you are going through. Other players framed me for my build and how bad it was. Itâs a pain in the ass. No matter how good you are, there are always two sides to everything. Good and bad. I am not supporting anyone or anything.
I am just saying everyone has their own thoughts and I sincerely respect you for what you put up for every point that you fought for. Your passion definitely shows by proofs that you put up. Proofs always says stronger and better. Thatâs why also I read every reply, noting what is good and what is worthy to take into consideration, and of course coming up with a build that suits my own play style. Anyway, keep it up jchsc32. LOL thanks, Iâm breaking my own rules though, if you follow this thread youll notice I left it for a good month or two when it started going downhill. I try to limit my forum drama to a certain amount, as to not get pulled in to these week long drama matches but ive been failing bad lately.
I was 1 of the 1st solo players to complete every sq inch of rank 8 on around day4, had my purple 315 bow by day 5, have multiple scout variants from 100-to 280-to 330. I donât NEED the forums for anything tbh, there is no new information here for me, I just try to post stuff to help others avoid mistakes ive made in trial and error.
You can waste so much silver and time in this game on poor builds and attributes etc. So I do want people interested in scout 3 to have solid info. With that being said though MAN its rough atm, its only 3 or 4 people but wow, the amount of effort they put into their constant assaults is pretty brutal.

Dude, leave him alone. Despite he is telling people they should go this way and that way on their build ( I can tell he truly believes he is advising people the most efficient build to go), but all he wanted was to be helpful.
Although he is a bit annoying spamming those photo proofs at some time, but hey, I get tons of valuable information from him! I appreciate his help and effort.
Please, you do not have to go against him on every comment (Same goes to you @jchsc32, you donât have to go against Seifer everytime). There is no better scout. My better and your better might not be the same at all. Please donât discourage a helpful and experienced scout 3 players to give advise in forum.

As a reader that enjoys reading the forum, I must say, I am enough of the dramas these days. It is annoying, and tiring to go through all the heats, just trying to get the information I want. Reading forums should be casual and relaxing. All these dramas are making me sick. Again, I am speaking for myself, but I think a lot of people would agree with me.

If you click on my âhow to setup infinite sp for the 145 dngnâ thread though you will see my current stat setup and gear, theres a few updated pics there and a video clip of the cards functioning in-game, along with our bread and butter circling/homing arrow combo.
I didnât take my idreamy scout past 280 b/c ive been so busy with my other, it just handles content better imo since it can large scale aoe, the idreamy scout is still viable donât panic, it just has no real aoe outside of split arrowâs limited bounce capability, you can stack Aoe Attk + ratio to your hearts content but it still wont make much of a difference.

Free info for people who may not know what you can and cant get your hands on atm for our next weapon. In the above picture you will see 12 mourningbird undamaged wings, you will need 18 of these for the Astra Bow, and they can be farmed in Yudejan Forest. When farming make sure you do not accidently attack the mage type moths, they will jail rape you before you know what hit you.
We also need 54 Yellow caro Antennas which are supposed to drop in Pystis Forest, however I have concerns that these are bugged atm b/c they are supposed to be the more common material to aqquire, hence the 54 needed opposed to the 18, but all I have seen so far drop is yellow caro leather.
(took me roughly 1,100 kills for my 12 undamaged wings, they are pure rng, no dpk, some of you will glide to 18, others will die inside)

Ive been talking to some older players I know from founderâs access that also dabble in ktos and they have confirmed the yellow caro antennas are an ultra rare drop, well over 500dpk each and we need 54, furthermore the mobs are the lowest count on the map, only 1 or 2 inbetween 7 to 8 leafnuts in small pockets so it would literally take atleast an entire month of having the channel to yourself to get 54. With this news Iâm going to put some more $ into my purple bow, they all said the same thing, theres barely any astra bows on ktos for this reason.

I just test in duel cloth leather and plate type with about same amount of def stat, and ask someone to test spiral arrow with crossbow without off hand. The damage is between 4800-5000 range regardless of the armor.
I expect this result, because spiral arrow and most archer skill is missile-type.
So, is mob spiral arrow considered different than ranger c3 one? Could you tell us how much reduction you get to that spiral arrow after changing to cloth set?
Just asking out of curiosity, because I consider to change to cloth too if it is as good as my expectation

Ya I was afraid of that, manâŚim already at like 1,200 mourningbird kills for 12 wings, idk how were going to get the antennas, it wouldnât be bad if 1 side of the map had just caros but with them only sprinkled inbetween 5-6 leafnuts its so fkng slow to farm them.
No dramatic exit speech, just ungodly bored with the game atm, going to back to FXIV for awhile but before I depart id like to leave a quick summary of my experience for people looking to make scouts;
- IMO the top 2 scout builds atm are the archer3-scout3-falc-mergen and the idreamy scout, I have personally taken the falc/mergen to lv330 and the idreamy to lv280
- Falconer/Mergen builds excel in aoe situations due to circling synergizing with homing arrow and triple arrow, they are a bit lackluster in single target dps, and its an overall safer playstyle b/c you will very rarely be close to the target you are fighting
- The idreamy builds excel in burst damage due to capture allowing them to double flare shot and arrow sprinkle, furthermore feint and barrage is legitimate damage even later on, the countless people who say otherwise never leveled the build, if you read the older replies in this thread you will have seen me catching several people in this lie
- Scouts are great for more then just farming a dungeon, however if thatâs all you are leveling one for np, make a few, you can find several budget builds in the forums
- The #1 priorty should always be your split arrow attribute, for budget builds 50-60 is acceptable, if you plan on playing them regularly 80 is a great target number
- Augfowle Bows are a safe decision atm, the Astra Bow will be EXCEPTIONALLY hard to obtain, its not just the x2 practonium and x15 artilinioum, those can be obtained through simply leveling alts and farming the 290, its also the massive dpk challenge of x54 yellow caro antennas, this will be a massive obstacle, whereas the x18 undamaged mourningbird wings can be obtained within a week with a couple hours a day of play
- At the end my favorite playstyle was 4pc cloth, high sp and 4 sp return cards with 4 dex cards, however you can mix and match sp cards to anything you run on a regular basis, sp return cards should be high on your to do list, specifically 3rd after split arrow attribute and bow
- ToS is quickly becoming a gear treadmill, the pattern of the current BiS equipment becoming obsolete has drastically sped up, due to this I highly recommend investing the bulk of your silver into your attributes, those will never fail you
- Lastly and most importantly, the forums are FULL of hypothetical theorycrafters who have absolutely no experience playing over 3/4 of the builds they are advising you and others on, please be cautious when taking advice or going off an online build, it is very costly in time and silver to reroll in this game
