I was talking about Savagery skill… It make you double attack as you can see in this video. He did use dagger that gives pierece… So the savagery works with Spears which also deal stabbing damage.

Yeah but it does not make Hoplite Op… It just increase his normal attack damage…

which bring us back to the theory.

Savagery does not increase normal attack it makes stabbing damage a double attack. ANY stab damage from normal or skill will deal double attack.

Hence the Burst potential of Hoplite becomes greater combined with Barbarian’s savagery

will deal 14 hits in less than 1 second when attacking bosses with savagery, thus dealing Burst damage.

In term of Dps a 3circles Swordsman’s skill damages (example : Bash lvl15) or a 3 Circle Cataphract’s damages (Doom Spike lvl 10) are the same because of cooldowns. Doom Spike does 1812damages every 40sec, Bash does 292 every 6sec. In The cooldown time of doomspike you have the time to do 6.7bashes : That is 1956damages. And we can even say 7, because doom spike has a casting time too : so taht would be 2044damages every 40sec. Surely if you have Cataphract c3. Surely you could be Cataphract c3 + Swordsman C3 to double your dps, but to double your dps you will lose something like Squire support maybe? Or Rodolero’s Control? Or anything else

So as you can see there : combining two dps classes always double the burst. Having Cataphract + Hoplite will double the damages you can do within a due time because of cd’s etc. But with you’re barbarian build you will double auto attacks damage too because of savagery (with a spear). So you may attain a better dps than a cataphract +hoplite but you will lose mobility at the same time, and aoe damages (since the barbarian is more 1v1 than a cataphract). Finally i did’nt count yet the fact that when mounted cataphracts attack is buffed (cause we don’t know by how much yet) but i do’nt think it will be much more than 10% ^^
Anyway i think with all the calculations ado : In term of skill power : Hop+Barb = Cata+Hop
In term of auto attack power Hop+Barb > Cata+Hop (by two times)
In term of mobility Hop+Barb < Cata+Hop
In terms of aoe damages Hop+Barb < Cata+Hop (by two times or more)

So advantages like and disadvantages like every classes are equals

In CBT 3 Savagery didint work with Skills and I don’t think it work currently because it would be too Op.

Just wondering, this game doesn’t have any planned PVP. Any reasons behind rolling a PVP build right away? (only reason i ask is because in FFXIV i chose marauder (2hander) over paladin (sword/shield) because i figured when and if they came out with large scale pvp a marauder would pwn a paladin in 1 on 1 pvp. But pvp didnt come out for year(s) and I was stuck with an offtank which couldnt tank nearly as well in PvE as a sword/shield combo.

So it just brings back regret for wasting my time with an PvE offtank because FFXIV was like oh there will be 50 on 50 pvp at release. then the game released and they said it will be within 1 month, in the next patch. then it turned to 6 months away. its like 2 years later and they still dont have it. so i dont recommend rolling a PVP build anticipating them installing pvp if its not there at release.

Besides, even if they release PvP 1 year after release, your character could get nerfed inbetween now and then and major patches will come out to fix certain pvp aspects. then when pvp is rolled out, further nerfing will occur after that as ppl complain about xyz class being OP. So i say just gun for PvE supremacy now, gather up cash and items, then when pvp rolls along, get a pvp alt.

Crit ATK rate and Crit RATE are diff.
Crit ATK is damage when your attack hit critical state
Crit Rate is % how frequent your attack to be critical

This old video and yeah it worked in CBT1 and 2 but maybe they realized it is too strong… It seems Savagery worked with skill that didint even use stab…

I think it has an attribute before that lets it proc on slash attack as well. But yeah for OP reasons, it was removed.

video date May 2015, savagery has attribute then that allows it to apply to slash attacks. Attribute has been removed in the recent CBT and Barbarian nerfs.
