Just when I’m rethinking to go to Ranger route…

…it happened. Now I’m back to Archer C3 -> Scout C3 :frowning:

I should also mention, the new skill Cleave gives you the Aggressor buff for 5 seconds.

This buff only boosts Crit Rate for 50% for 5 seconds at max. Reusing Cleave whilst you have the buff on will reset the buff back to 5 seconds.

I think this is a fair compromise to Aggressor.

Wut.
Does it has charges? How long is the cooldown?.

2 uses before cooldown. The cooldown is 21 seconds with no attribute. (There’s only an Enhance attribute currently, they don’t affect SP cost or cooldown.)

This means at best, you have 10 seconds of a 50% Critical Hit rate buff, then 21 seconds of downtime.

Also, this version of the Aggressor buff does not boost Critical Attack damage, only Critical Hit rate. I don’t know if the buff still retains its 100% accuracy effect.

Yep yep it sounds good.
Last, what effect does it have if we level up the skill?

Thanks.

Increases the damage the skill does. There’s no specialised attributes for the skill yet either, outside of the ‘Enhance’ attribute. Also to note, the skill does extra damage to ‘Faint’/Stunned enemies. Helm Chopper can stun.

Chop your opponent’s helmet and then cleave their head off…

Well, that sounds… Barbaric.

Oh great! More skills that make you think.
*The forum seems bugged. I can’t like any of your comment at all!

Dang I would like to see new barbarian in action.

Nice, now it’s something useful for a barbarian and something I don’t have to pick up for other swordsman classes.

Just sucks that everything is slash resistant later.

Yeah, that’s definitely a pain. Especially when everything starts becoming weak to Pierce, and you have a Hoplite friend who can take advantage of it next to you.

Luckily, Highlander and Barbarian both have decent Impact/Blunt-attack skills (Helm Chopper is Impact/Blunt too), and you can always equip a Mace for normal attacks, but this means you’ll lose out on your 2H Sword Mastery on those guys.

I’m still hoping for a 2H Hammer of some sort.

From the translation it seems like Cleave’s Aggressor buff cannot stack with Flange, can someone confirm this?
Also even if things are slash resistant later, there’s always the possibility that even further down (maybe level 300+?) things will become stab-resistant again, so don’t worry too much about it at this point in time.

If you really do lose sleep over it, pick up a rank of Hoplite or Cataphract to wield spears somewhere along the way

According to the translation, Cleave’s ‘Aggressor’ buff can’t stack with Hoplite’s Finestra. No mention of Barbarian’s Frenzy/Flange.

Ok thanks for the clarification.
Do the new Barbarian skills have any weapon restrictions?

Nope, no weapon restrictions on the Barbarian skills. I’ve not personally tested Seism (it’s C2 Barb, I’m currently Rank 4 as Cataphract) but it doesn’t require a specific stance as listed in the game’s files.

Stance is used in the files to refer to what weapon and sub-weapon combination is required for a skill. For example, OneHandSpearAndShield is a stance which crops up on Hoplite a lot. Any skill without stance requirements can be used with any weapon.

You can even use Cleave and Helm Chopper whilst mounted.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking too - use Cleave to get Aggressor buff 1st, followed by strong skills like Cataphract’s Doom spike or Earth wave. Only problem is Cataphract’s skills require charge time so they’re slower to execute.

I see more synergy between Cleave and Doppel’s skills, like Mordschlag or even Deeds of Valor + auto attacks.

Cataphract really benefits more with Hoplite rather than Barbarian, since you have to be mounted and use a Spear (1 or 2H) to use their skills. It’s something I found when I was testing Barbarian/Cataphract before the Savagery removal.

Nothing stops you from not touching a Sword and taking Barbarian, though the restriction of being mounted has put me off of Cataphract.
