Feedback about the game : More than disapointing

Oh, i’m glad another player view things just like me.

Yeah, most of the game issues now is balance and lack of higher level channels, however everything else they’re complaining is quite retarded / lack of evidence.

I find quite funny to see RO players, bitching about the game without going deep into it. Its funny because RO is a pure grind game based on leveling, yet they can’t even go deep on ToS and feel they’re ready to dish out complainings and comparisons with RO.

I’m a 164 Swordsman, the class that everyone is saying that are utterly broken because they can solo and all, the reality is I can’t do anything without a balanced party.

i 200% agree with u. u said it all, everything i wanted to say. Honest opinion. We all want to love tos here but the game needs some work …where it really matters. Need the essence of true mmropg that everyone is hoping for.

Sorry for the bad stuff in here, but yeah quite like it. Thank goodness you guys are doing a lot of closed and open beta and are listening to reviewers. Truth is harsh but constructive criticism and hard work walk with holding hands. TY guys for all your effort.Hope ToS becomes legendary

agreed with most of your points
some may be a bit biased but most are solid

linearity is the big problem
class balance is also a big problem

the class indifferent is very problematic: everyone goes dps with a bit con and does well in the game.

no need to support, no need for pure tank, all we need is dps. lame.

Exact, these 2 are rthe main issue of the whole experience. Linearity and the force hub quest make party useless and consequently some classes like pure healers and pure tankers. Infact the classes that made the better advancement are the high damage dps like barbarian and highlander.

The game will launch in Korea next month so i doubt they will be able to fix these issues in time because they have to redesign completely the game and made an alternative way to progress, like in RO, but RO was an open world and had unrestricted zones while here in TOS, the zones are linked to the quest progression and you can’t explore futher.
The quest progression made solo gaming almost mandatory since is impossible to play with your friends because everyone progress at different speed.

This is the huge issue with the quest games that killed the sociality of mmorpgs that become just mere brawlers without a soul and get bored really fast.

Another solution is to rebalance the classes and give more strenght to the stats for support roles too, but this solve only the symptom not the root cause.

Is very very sad that IMCGames discard the beautyfull RO progression and make another generic grinfest game like any other on the market nowadays, WoW really ruined a generation of players and made companies crazy about it, so much that after a decade they are using again and again the same indentical formula in every mmorpg they made.

@lsd357 Oh I’m sorry for comparing it to Ragnarok. I wonder where the classes, graphics and skills are taken from in general. I wonder where did the hype on this game came from.

Reading the wall of text that the OP posted. Whew, so many things to digest. But anyways here is my feedback to your feedback about the game so far.

First, calling this game “beyond disappointing” is just uncalled for. Yes it is not perfect, but “beyond disappointing”? This must mean the game is really bad, like Superman 64 bad.

Second, I somewhat agree on the EXP gain, I do wish it will not be much more worse when the game is launched - don’t get me wrong, I love grinding, but I don’t think I can stand prolonged hours of grinding just to get one level.

Third, I do agree with the type of quests we get. For example, maybe we can have quests that involves puzzle solving, platforming, stealth/sneaking? Keeps the game challenging. As for the bosses, if IMC wants to recycle the bosses, please do so, but perhaps they can add different attack patterns for bosses to differentiate them? Especially if they bosses are at different levels.

Forth, the problem is if we do make a world like RO, with many many maps, most of them will be empty, because why? There will always be a “best” place to grind/level-up. You want to get the most out of your time grinding in a place where the map provides the optimal amount of EXP, and the monsters are not too hard too kill for your level. As for the part about the monster do zilch damage just because you are several levels higher than them… maybe perhaps you had a good equipment?

Fifth, RO does the same, you get punished if you head into a zone that has high level monsters - it is much worse if the monsters are aggressive and can chase you down in a blink of an eye. I remember setting foot in Sunken Ship F2 and just getting murdered by the Penomenas there. >.<"

Sixth, are you referring about the EXP penalty a low level player is not awarded enough EXP for killing a high level monster? I do not mind this actually. It prevents players from abusing the system, where a level low level player can gain phenomenal experience just by killing a high level monster - I have seen this many times in RO.

Seventh, I don’t know about monster looks, but I think they look cute… those hanamings especially (so sad you have to kill a few hundreds of them just to get the black hair achievement) As for diversity, I think there is enough of them (but if IMC wants to add more please be my guest). I say this since I main QS, and there are certain monsters I prefer to kill since most of them is resistant to pierce damage :frowning:

Eighth, yes more map interaction is good. Please add moar IMC! Thank you very much.

Ninth, I think the difficulty (remember I main QS) are a bit easy, sadly. The only times I have died is when I get careless during boss fights, from stupid lag spikes, or just being an idiot and going AFK in an area which I think is safe but isn’t.

Tenth, I have not played far enough but I think they do enough damage? Of course if you are several levels higher than them (and have better equipment) they won’t.

Eleventh, I thought partying up gives bonus EXP? Unless of course that is a lie… =.="

Twelfth, yes I agree about your point on the stats. In other words, please use multiplicative instead of flat scaling stats.

Thirteenth, I agree to everything you said about the equipment.

Fourteenth, I will skip this part.

Fifteenth, agree about the town, I do wish there are more cities to explore - so far I have seen one big city, few camps and that’s it. As for the story, I will give it a 7/10. It is good enough but lacking a bit of that “oomph”. As for the reason there is so many forest maps, I think it is tied to the story? You know about the big tree suddenly appearing, and plant monsters, etc? Music is a-okay, I give it a 7/10 too, but maybe this will change later on in some of the higher level maps? Hopefully? Please?

Sixteenth, I am on the fence on this part. On one hand, I do wish you can get a different start depending on your class choices, however on the other hand, I don’t really mind it.

And lastly (finally I got to the end!) I agree with your point where an MMORPG must be fun from start till the end.

All in all I give this game a 7/10 (yes always seven)

You mean Instances. For dungeons you do not need anything. Dungeons are Chapel and Such, the lvl 50, lvl 90 etc… are Instances and there you certanly need a party.

I would add the change in perspective when entering to some maps -buildings. I usually load and end up going back because of it. Maybe lock the teleport for a few seconds?.

I really appreciate that IMC is reading these criticisms. I hope they take this feedback and use it to improve the game! We all want to see it succeed.

What I find funny is how many people missread the RO comparisons. They keep saying RO is bad in this and in that, so why you want RO stuff to ToS. The thing is we already know that RO is bad in all that stuff, that is why we are trying to incorporate only the good points of RO or of others MMOs in this game, without screwing the uniquiness and style of itself. But so many people can’t see that. I don’t care if we use Zelda or Dark Souls examples, because is all about gaming experience. Right now the ToS experience is lacking so much compared to its competitors. This topic made some very fundamental points about those problems, some of them that will make the game boring after certain time. I ask here, how many people created 3 or more characters and level them till 70 and not found the overall experience after the second time boring? If they want to us to create a lot of characters to explore all the classes and builds possibilities, than the content needs to be bigger and better. I agree, this game still fells like a single player action RPG, and for that genre we already have better things in the market, for the mmo genre also. So why I am still here if there are better things? Because I want to believe that IMC can fix the issues and try to create a memorable game for the lifetime and not a generic one. This game have potential, have good combat, have good concepts, good graphics, but need to stop thinking about how to please all the MMO fans and just create a content that will make the gamers like the game everytime they play.

I agree on everything.
These fanboys just prove you right by comparing TOS to a single player RPG (Zelda).
If we wanna play a linear game we’re gonna download a single player JRPG. These fanboys are beyond obsess

Can we also get an “Attempting to reconnect…” like League of Legends

It works wonders for third world Asian country’s…

I agree with most most of what you said. You’ve mentioned some crucial points but I think there are more problems which you didn’t mention. Honestly I think the little bugs and issues that gets posted here are insignificant right now compared with the bigger grander level design flaws, such as boring quest based linear progression, lack of diversity, pathetic tube-like open world map whichs are essentially mere pathways connecting npcs and linear quests, etc…etc…

I think this game is screaming the lack of content and depth in the current state. Now that the game is going go into OBT in korea I don’t think they are going to address the bigger issues we have mentioned here with their limited resources and man power. Hell, I think it was most likely designed this way because it is the easiest and cheapest way to do it. The end result…I am afraid to say…it will be just like Blade and soul…in which the beautiful graphics will attract players initially, but the shallow content and game play just won’t keep them playing.
