Feedback about the game : More than disapointing

General discussion, on a Tree of Savior forum, I guess?

What i’m trying to do here is to show people they’re wasting their time writing off complainings at how ToS should perform like RO.

It’s a pure waste of time, ToS will NEVER be what Ragnarok is/was. All you have to do is either deal with it and try to play the game without RO expectations, or either quit. Surprisingly enough, for players that wants ToS to be RO, quitting and playing RO is the most, well, sane thing to do.

Different games, different approachs, different gameplay, different formulas, different developers. Just because the graphics are somewhat similar, people feel the need to make ToS the same as RO. Like i’ve said, it will never happen and the best way around is to quit.

There is no point going into a orange forum to complain that apple taste better. Much less to waste your time suggesting at how orange could change to taste the same as an apple.

The point is that you should’t. Making it so later on you need more money, means you will need to make it so they get more money. If they get more money, the economy gets destroyed. Max level characters should be able to make much more money, or you start seeing “gold sellers”.

That’s not me man, That’s how the game is made.

People are getting 180+ right now and spending 300k+ a day without breaking a sweat, because of how things scale.
And that’s only a third of this game’s progression.

It can be as different as “the one that shall not be named” as they want, but if they make it another quest simulator it won’t last long. There are way to many of those. We were given to understand that this game was gonna appeal to people who enjoyed grinding and replaying a game with different characters, different or same classes (pretty much like Diablo 2 and “the one that shall not be named”)

Diablo 3 tried this linear approach and farm gear simulator with no variety on paths or characters other than gear and what skills they use for each class. I wouldn’t call that game a success.

You still whining here brah? Too bad. I promise I will not post anymore, but read what OP said, at least, so you can stop to ashame thy self.

“They will breath really heavy, and start typing on the keyboard really fast.” Real for weeaboos, real for ToS “fanbase”.

Why the heck do you keep on bringing “ToS will NEVER be what Ragnarok is/was.” We god dang know. WE JUST DON’T WANT IT TO BE LIKE EVERY OTHER MMORPGS OUT THERE EXCEPT RO. Also, I don’t know if you’re thinking this clearly. If there isn’t enough people playing the game to get the economy/market moving. No one will bother even playing it. Why would people even bother joining a dead game?

And I agree with you. This game shouldn’t be like RO. And you can see it’s not my point.

But I think you don’t understand why people are disapointed. They wanted to play a game that would bring the same magic, fresh air and memorable experience RO managed to deliver. They didnt’ want to play a RO clone but a game that would fare better.

And what a disapointment, a RO clone would have been more original than this game.

Not giving any feedback because we must accept the game as it is even if it’s bad is imho quite disrepectul to the devs. They made this closed beta so they can fix things.

You have a good point here, but I feel it’s too early to judge a game on a closed beta stage.

IMC already stated at many interviews that the game is not a sucessor of RO. No game is perfect and i’m sure they know their own game have flaws. However, most of it’s flaws can be somehow easily fixed, like placing unused high level maps as optional lower level maps, or simply, reduce low level channels to add more channels for higher levels. Class balance comes with time, the same way that new maps or even new items, quests, classes, stuff. So it’s why i’m giving IMC a chance.

I never saw an MMO game being released with a finish product. MMOs are in constantly development, constantly receiving stuff and becoming bigger. So, it’s too early to judge the game if the problems are kind of easy to fix and there is potential for great stuff with time.

Wow, you nailed everything! OMG :joy:

  • On Linearity, I agree - people should start in different maps, doing different things. So everytime you start another character, it’s a fresh adventure and not a recycled one.
  • On Stats, I agree - it’s broken! Haha. The most useless one is INT btw. says this poor cleric lol
  • On Quests, I find it decreasing in numbers as you level up. To think it’s XP times 3 already, I find myself grinding just to level up when the game goes live. Haha.
  • On Exploring, more emersive maps please…like when you’re traveling in real world, you really feel that this place is distinctively China or Hawaii or Africa. The music, NPCs, quests, maps, drama, etc. should feel like you’re being immersed in a new culture, which makes it pretty interesting to stay in one map.

I suggest you make many towns, and sub-worlds under each town, like a easy-medium-difficult-extreme map for each town. So people can start off to different towns and travel to others (sounds impossible at this point but I’ll say it anyway haha). So regardless of your level, you have a lot of towns and worlds to explore.

  • On Attributes, I love it! Gives me additional buffs; I badly need it haha.
  • On Classes, I love how I have so many choices. Can’t wait to try it all!

I became interested in the game because the characters look like in RO, and I know you can deliver guys. Good luck on working with our suggestions!

Agreed, and i also agree that the way OP stated things was aggressive as hell, but if he had not done that, his post would have been ignored, sadly, and probably never seen by the devs.

I also believe that most of the “Core” “problems” can be fixed rather easily, the game in itself is great, the art, the combat system and classes are Awesome, and the game as it is, i would play it for months. But this is the moment we have to make this game Great, the Undertale of the MMOs. The Age of Empire 2, the Diablo 2.

Dead game?

Don’t assume your opinion is the same as everyone else. If the game is dead, it wouldn’t be suffering constant issues with servers due to excessive aumont of players. Heck, if the game is dead, a new server wouldn’t be made exclusively for LA players.

It’s so easy to quit, why bother discussing for no reason?

Zelda isnt an online game.

Same goes back to you. Don’t assume your opinion is the same as everyone else. Plus, I’m just stating one of the possible future of ToS, which can be change if the developer don’t listen to you. Clearly, your mind aren’t thinking straight because in my eyes a lot more people are disagreeing with you than me. But hey, I could be wrong.

If you think the game sucks, then leave. If you and the people that are “disagreeing” leave also, I guess the remaining people could help IMC more with proper and more accurate feedback.

Kids nowadays are so spoiled, to the point they expect a free to play game to be in perfect shape at closed beta.

Be patient, if you somehow enjoyed the game and feels things should change, do it in a proper form. Try to pinpoin the source of issues, and try to suggest what could be better for TOS, not what could be better for TOS becoming the same as RO or whatever.

Save your rage quitting assumptions for when the game releases. Then we could have a more accurate prediction of the game future.

Even Zelda producers admit that Zelda games have become too “linear” and are trying to change their way. Why can’t ToS do that? Seriously, you really suck at reasoning and the only thing you can bring up is “ToS is not RO.” Also, here is the link to that article about Zelda being too linear.

Zelda games have become too ‘linear,’ producer says

Btw, Zelda is not an online game so you shouldn’t compare the two.

Blah, whatever. My Zelda example was to a guy who said people who like linear games are idiot. Wew.

Linear games are not bad by nature, it depends on many things. - thats what I was trying to say. However, i’m off, going to exp more, almost becoming a doppelsoeldner. You can keep here bitching all the day along, while i’ll be having fun with my friends. See ya o/

Thanks for your feedback!

Though it sounds too harsh for me sometimes, I generally think the same. You just saved me a lot of time writing something alike =))

Overall lack of integrity between game elements creates less than expected gaming experience.

Agree with every point OP brings up. This is just about all the issues I’ve had with the game.

@luizlink642 you know what beta test is right? It’s where you test the game, find bugs and give feedback on how you feel the game can be improved. I haven’t even played RO and I agree with the OP. So it really has nothing to do with that.

Just another post from angry “RO-veteran”. The games has problems for sure, like classes and stat balance, but your other arguements like “It’s linear” and “equipment doesn’t matter” are hilarious. Tell me that RO wasn’t linear, it had tons of maps but people grinded on same maps all the way to cap and it became even worse in renewal. Oh, and u need party for dungeons, with cleric. It feels like u didn’t even bother to explore the deep sides of this game, just ran to the forum to make this wall of whine. Go back to RO please, don’t destroy this game.
