eight_bamboos you are making excellent points here. I know how you feel about this game it is visually amazing and it’s combat system is not bad at all. However, those things can take a game of this genre so far. They have ALREADY went through the trouble of making this game and designing it, so why not make their efforts count? I really like this game so far and I feel like it can go a long way if they actually go over your feedback and implement it into the game. Most of you guys made awesome points here and there too, but its ultimately their decision should they listen to the players or not. I just don’t want this to be another game that gets so hyped and dies a week after release. But I’ll be optimistic and keep my faith and hopes up in the devs!

I still wish that TOS can pull it off and be successful, otherwise what a waste of a good class system and nice graphic too…But since they are going for open beta soon, i doubt they can change much. Good that some people actually like the linear game quests, at least they can keep on playing. As for me, I’d wait and see how the finished game come out. If its still linear quest based, i;d have to give up on TOS and find something new.

You make some excellent points in your post, but honestly i’m just laughing at people saying that RO was good game or successful when it really wasn’t. Lots of people here seem to be blinded by their nostalgia towards RO, and seriously just take off those glasses already.
I’m glad that devs of this game at least has some clue what works here in west, and they trying to improve game based on that. I just don’t understand what has happened? did they spend all their budget on the job system? Because every other part in this game feels like they got really lazy and sloppy.

I think you’re overall too harsh and ignoring some of the priorities of imc.
While I agree currently there’s deficiency in the linear quest system, but I am certain this is just the beginning of ToS development. I’m sure imc is focusing their efforts to release the game asap. As such they are focusing on the main quest areas. There are many junctions / dungeon sites that are not used right now, and in time the game will be expanded to be more non linear. Mausoleum Construction area is a good example that imc does know that they need redundant maps for the same level range.
RO had limited areas during beta too.
I’m sorry but there are easily accessible stat reset scrolls for you to see which stat works with which class.

I think it’s pretty clear they have had no intention to change the leveling system. We already have access to the planned maps and they go on a linear fashion, mainly because they decided the game needs to have 400+ levels.
Not all the junctions / dead ends are connected now. There are many spots that are obvious dungeon entrances for the future. RO started off with limited maps/dungeons too.
However I do agree that OBT/launce ToS is going to be 90% similar to what we have now. It’s just too late in development for them to make some of the game changes we hope to see.

Not exactly. In beta you had several low level zones and you also had inner dungeons for higher leveled content, as well as Glast Heim. You had Morroc/Payon/Prontera/Alberta/Lutie in late beta and their surrounding zones/dungeons for leveling too.
Yeah you are right, the rank 1 pvp player on kCBT who went strength on a cleric and then diev needs to learn to play too i guess.

Yea that’s probably because they had more starting areas… So they had to make multiple maps for the same level range… which worked out wonders!
Well well well, i’ve just said a lil time ago…so the truth come out.
This game is doomed to failure, and strangely enough it was the fault not the players but the developer.
I hope that now the IMC learn that hype does not mean committing abusive action, I love everything I see about it.
To close with gold key can only close the game in a short time (perhaps even before being officially released).
Looking forward to more frustration coming of fanboys and more “crimes” committed by the developer.
Many of the members have contributed to this, now reap the rotten fruit they so deserve.

I just found that most of the OP’s points are wrong. Not sure where he’s getting his info from cause his points are wrong compared to my own comparisons as well as checking around the ToSBase and ToSGame communities.
