EXP Rates are OK

Why on earth would you want daily quests? They always become a chore where you have to repeat a few of the exact same boring quests everyday. And you’re basically forced to do them or you will fall behind. That doesn’t give you options, it gives you requirements which no one wants.

Please don’t suggest daily quests because they are the worst fix for exp issues.

To be fair the post he was replying to was ā€œMY opinion is better than your opinionā€

Nobody who tries to discuss anything wants to give reasons for what they’re saying, they’d just prefer to insult everyone.

your opinions are shjt, actually you got none of them you was just suggesting the grindfest
your ā€œopinionā€ was a fantasy interesting journey, turn out it is grindfest LMAO. Enjoy your journey when 9999 people come to farm at the same spot

Hey guy ,did you read this yet ?

It make this topic become totally a joke if it true.

Theyre doing KCBT3 for exp rate testing, we were for something else.

and ur implying? anyways, reason why exp rates are low is being announced my admin shawn

Have you even reached above level 40 in the game? The grindfest you all believe that get worse do not, in fact it fluctuates. Some areas are grindier than others.

I see this international test beta as a less developed build than the korean ones since they needed to configure and setup their infrastructure and server. Do you see battleground prompts at the top right of your screen? We are obviously missing features the other servers have.

The objective of this beta test is not the same as the korean beta tests. Do you even comprehend what theyre actually doing this beta?

becouse games are there for entertainment after a full day of work?

and current exp rates dont make this game fun at all
main problem is the exp dont scale well enough on higher lvls

at lvl 34 mobs exp is 71
at lvl 46 mobs exp is 84

lvl 90+ mobs exp is about 150

i agree the point of games is about journey but lets see what else we can do in ToS atm?
storyline - you finish it fast then you need to

grind

no other activities in game atm

No one will take you seriously when you type so aggressively while being barely comprehensible.

And although you disagree with it some people honestly enjoy this level of grind. I’m not saying I do, but just because you disagree with it doesn’t make you right.

If you put some insight into why it’s wrong, how to fix it or even just reasons why it should be changed I’m sure you could have a discussion.

Instead you just throw out buzzwords like ā€œgrindfestā€ while calling his opinions ā€œshjtā€. Good discussion, all that happens by typing like that is that it make your stance on the subject seem like a bad one to take.

This is exponential chart of base level progression on RO renewal, even on pre renewal the chart looks nearly the same. But I believe that exp chart isn’t the real problem we had on ToS.

The real problem is this meta. Somehow it convinces people to grind with afk farming/lvling or use third party macro or even botting

I don’t know why everyone is freaking out about the current EXP rate in the FIRST International closed beta. Clearly, the developers intention was for us to test the very first areas and not skip past everything we were supposed to test. It’s been what, 6 days now, and we’ve managed to encounter so many bugs in the beginner zones. I can guarantee you that the rate will be raised in the second closed beta so that we have the possibility of playing through higher levelled zones and discover bugs THERE. They received enough feedback from Korean players about the exp rates that I’m fairly positive they’re aware of what they’re doing. Let’s assume (because I don’t know my facts) Korea started off with x3 exp rate from the very 1st closed beta. What happens then? They skip past the first areas and not get as much bug testing done! So what do the developers do? They lower OUR exp rate so that WE can discover more bugs. All I’m saying is, please stop freaking out about our current exp rate. Why rush to 500 anyway? Why spoil the game for yourself before it’s even out and working perfectly? If this was OBT, I’d understand your outrage and I’d support the hell out of it, but holy sh** guys, it’s the first CLOSED beta. Our job is to test the game and report bugs, not rush past all content just so you can be at the top of our small community of what, 9k people?

Ily all, we’re all human, it’s okay for us to have different opinions. Let’s not get carried away and create a hateful community before the game is even released. Also, I eat pizza upside down and starting from the crust. I’m weird af.

My guess is IMC wanted us to test content before the 1st wall (lvl46) of course little more than 200 people out of 5k passed that wall, even 4-5 people passed the 2nd wall.

Well, if I ever get a beta key and test out this game, I can stop making assumptions
I understand the frustration for grinding on a low level map, but is it really that bad? Been watching a couple of people past 30 on twitch.
I was bring the past games that Mr. Kim hakkyu developed, and how they were fairly grindy. so expect grindy game

I cannot read this wall of text above me… It’s too much xD

I just see a lot of people talking out of their ass about how EXP is fine because they want to level a class over 3 months. Well we aren’t talking 3 months, a couple of hours a day, we are talking job hours, 9-5 a day on this game for 3 months. I also don’t think that many people have actually played the beta here. This isn’t Ragnarok Online. There is no chance of a Card drop, or other decent rare items. There are no alternative places to level is one spot gets boring. There are no MvP random spawns on most maps. Its 70-90 exp per kill, for 100,000 - 180,000 exp as an example, and it’s boring as crap. You get 2-7k per exp card (quest rewards) every now and then, but you would need at-least 20-25 to level up at a certain point, and you only get 1-2 per quest.

Also I don’t know about you guys, but I actually want more than 1 class on this 54-80 class game. I don’t want to stick with 1. Sure I’ll main one, but I refuse to believe that I cannot have fun with others.

To those who don’t care about grinding as long as it’s fun. Well, in most MMO’s, the best part is at the end game (maximum level), when the secret dungeons can be raided, when you can enter any map, when you can go to pvp, gvg, super hard raids, boost/level alternate characters, find and sell the rarest items. MMO’s are not offline, closed story games, where it’s all about the journey. It’s partially about the journey, and it’s important, but once at max level, that’s when the game should really hold you, and keep you from going to another game. Also at the early game which until about level 300, I think it’s fair to call this early game. The only thing available to us is Card games, talking in town, and grinding. There is nothing else to do, no other mini games, no other towns to explore. So we are forced into a position of levelling.

And finally, I’m sorry if I’m repeating someone elses words from up above. However I do not actually believe these will be the final rates. I think the GMs are fiddling with them, and not giving us proper explanations as to what they are doing. In CBT2 eng ver, I believe that the exp will be much higher, especially after this blow up. Honestly, if there are any concerns that you guys feel towards the game, try to blow it up as big as this, and it will probably get fixed.

Those are my thoughts~ (Also I played RO, low rates/official servers only for 11 years, I can handle the hardcore grind…most of the time…)

I agree, we need more stuff to do and more maps to explore and grind. But we dont need higher EXP because that is killing games very fast.

http://cdn.meme.am/instances2/500x/1292986.jpg

I don’t agree that Exp should stay the same because a higher exp ratio would kill off the game. I don’t need it to be easy to grind, but it should be easier. Games are being killed off because of a lack of challenge (all those games hand holding us through quests, like CABAL 2), forcing us to grind more is a false send of challenge, there’s nothing actually challenging about it, it just feels challenging because it’s long. Like how horror films use jump scares, they aren’t actually scary (there’s rarely any tension or build up, and we can see them a mile away). It’s just a cheap and effective way to make us think it’s scary. If the level 150+ boss monsters are dynamic with great Ai, this game doesn’t need a grind to survive, it’ll be fun either way.

I don’t play final fantasy for a grind, or chronotrigger, or golden sun, or any great offline jRPGs. There is no reason for it to be this hard, this early, for an MMO. I expect it to be difficult in the mid to late game, not early game.

I agree that the exp is ok. But the balance isn’t quite there yet exp/quest/grind wise, but that’s why we are beta testing lol.

Ppl talking about casual players this and casual players that… no one is telling you to go hardcore, you can be casual and just level slow, get a lvl a day or something. Why does everything have to go fast? Are you afraid you’ll get behind on the other players? Well of course you will because you’re a casual and not as hardcore as the others lol.

Play the game at your own pace and stop trying to be like others that go faster than you.
