[Class] Inquisitor's Thread

Seems I’ve been summoned.

I didn’t bother reading too far back so maybe I missed something but here it goes.

My build indeed focuses on a lot of defensive classes leading up to Inquis with Monk being the only offensive pick. As others have stated, DP is actually really good. It maybe do little damage alone, but when stacked with some debuffs from you’re party (or even just a simple Lethargy), you can already hit for up to 100k per punch (25k + Wheel). Plus it has a +25% strike dmg debuff… and all your attacks are Strike.

To whoever said I rely on my team to do the dirty work, that is half true. I lack a little on consistency but my DPS is actually amongst the top for most content and it is the top for prolonged fights (a.k.a 330 WB). Like all DPS carries though, I do rely on good support to boost my damage. Eles/Doppels etc. need Pass or Quicken. I need all those strike dmg debuffs. I have a few videos on Youtube if you want a glimpse into my DPS capabilities. Someone else just linked them here, thanks.

Feel free to ask any questions.

I believe you’d get more if you go int build, then use the wheel and let others attack it. Owl + PD flaming thing is powerful to begin with. Combine with malleus, should deal heavy damage via DOT.

But to answer your question, yes for stat wise. Pretty much a common stat path for going to physical crit damage.

In any case, it’s up to you. Going either physical or magical dps oriented inquis is good. Pretty much how you pull it off will be up to you.

Could anyone double check if Pear of Anguish Enhance attribute is actually working?

It doesn’t seem to work for me, at least not in duels.

I have pears level 5, 50% attribute, 347 patk.
Target is wearing cloth with 151 pdef.
Walking on a pear does 2758 damage while normally, unless I screwed up my damage calculation, it should do 4137:

(base_damage + p.atk - p.def) * attribute * pvp_reduction

(5320 + 347 - 151) * 1.5 * 0.5

What am I doing wrong?

No one plays inquisitor in this dead game anymore?

Have you tested the damage after pear activates due to a spell cast?

I main it, it does work. Just tested it like 5 minutes ago

Same issue when pears get triggered by spells (11032 dmg per pear with the same test conditions as above)

Strike damage on Cloth is neutral, right?

How did you test it exactly?

edit:
I tested God Smash and it gives the right results:
6132 damage for God Smash with 50% attributes:

I had only 20% attribute. Tested damage.
Upped attribute to 60% and saw the damage difference.

I can get numbers when I get home, I am on a cell right now

Waiting warmly

muh twenty characters

My pears are level 4 ( i am stupid like that, but I will reset to 5 soon, so bear with me)
damage is 4784

ATTRIBUTE: 39% — 7674 and it crits 11320 on leaf bug

(base stats, gear off is when I tested it)
physical attack 335-335
crit attack 10
block pen 179

as far as flying damage goes(when mob triggers it):

vefigy (in roxona east)
39% attribute: 18699 (seems to be static damage on the same target)
50% attribute: 19788

This is on my second inquisitor (it had leeser attributes so cheaper to test)

Thank you.
I tested it on mobs and it does seem to work fine indeed.
On Kugheri Zeffi in Nobreer (leather): 3861 when stepped on and 19305 when triggered with magic (patk 347, base damage 5320, mob’s def 519).

It’s defintiely bugging in duels though, at least for me.
I hope it doesn’t affect actual PvP.

Pear is already OP enough right now in PvP. If it is indeed true that attribs don’t work then I suppose that’s a good thing. I think Pear actually needs a nerf in PvP damage.

Yes, I main an Inquis too.

what weapon does inquisitor use? toy hammer / five hammer or catacomb? full dex monk3 inquisitor btw

Pears are pretty easy to manipulate in TBL so you can still cast and have them miss outright.

Basically pears are the ‘panic-killer’, in that you catch someone casting a spell in desperation and they gobble the caster up. They are also a great counter to auto-pilot kino3s.

If you are level-headed and see them before you cast, you can adjust your position or run over them to cancel the big damage.

Searching “inquisitor weapon” would have given you this

Nope, it does not. MM debuff duration can be increased through Pardoner’s DE though.

So they create a huge zone where you cannot cast skills our else you’ll die instantly. That sounds a bit too strong to me so I don’t understand your point.

Also I guess you don’t run into many strong physical Inquis because if you tried running over my Pears you’d probably die or be close to dying, making you super easy to finish off.

Strong physical inquis is not a pvp build so yeah it is a rarity. Honestly I would prefer to fight a physical inquis cause then I know you don’t have ranks in support.

With 40+k hp i would not die from walking on your pears.

The point is you can cast in the pears range and still not get hit. They will rush you but not hit you if you position it correctly.

As a priest3 I can cast safety zone, or stone skin and block most of them anyways. Clerics in general can deal with Pears, in fact using them versus a Kabbalist is asking to die from revenge7.

Mages on the other hand have to be very careful. Im not certain if missle hole counters it.

What? I’m Rank 6 this week and I didn’t even try that much (was 3 points off Rank 4 but didn’t have time to TBL). I also have ranks in Priest2, Oracle and Kabba so where are you getting this “don’t have ranks in support” from? When you said ‘strong physical inquis’ were you referring to those Monk2/3 and Pala 3 builds because, yes, they suck.

Yes, we all know how strong Clerics are but walking on my Pear will still do huge damage. Also Stone skin has a much longer cooldown than Pears. No, Missile hole doesn’t block them.
