I think a ONE CIRCLE/RANK reset that can only be used once (except on major changes updates of course) is fair enough.
Ex: I got pally 1 and it did not fit my build, so I reset and choose monk instead.

A full class reset will just trade one problem for another. However, being able to reset 1 circle or only circles of 1 class in connection to a major skill change or perhaps limited to once every 3 months, might be reasonable enough if the restrictions keep it from being abusable. It certainly shouldn’t be possible to change a circle to a crafting or guild one though. In-fact, I think crafting and economy classes should be locked completely both ways.
Circle reset is needed. Perhap retaining the base level, but the circle have to start over if differ from previous circle. That would do. I believe many of player here r not student too. We can afford to pay the money but not the time as we need to catch up our reality life. Game is for pleasure and enjoyment.
for now I don’t think we need class reset, because it would be easy to abuse and because people need to learn to make good informed choices.
however, when new classes are introduced it’s a different situation because we cannot plan for an unknown future. but i have no clue how circle resets can be introduced then tho.
bad idea. you’re just too lazy to read guides? search in google. there are guides on every class and subclass
haha guides
funny dude ever made your own experience or you play every game with a guide? kiddo
Care to lend me your time machine?
I’d love to read a comprehensive guide on leveling a circle 10 character with good synergy through circles 7 to 10.
I prefer not. It’ll ruin the aspect of “building your own class” and originality since then everyone will just reset to the “OMG BEST PVP GUIDE EVER” after they reach end game.
You have to decide for yourself in the very beginning if you want to PVE or PVP.
I think every class should be able to do both.
I am for a circle/rank reset for cash at any time, and free in case of major patch.
This way IMC can get some money and players won’t feel screwed over.
Crafters and Templars should be locked, I agree.
I think you should be able to reset whole circles/classes as well but you’d have to re-level the new circle, so you can’t level up an easy circle and then switch to a harder to level class.
I am for because I am probably one of those people that would not bother ‘just rerolling’ if my characters build got unenjoyable.
Because, rerolling in this game is not something I would want to do whatsoever, this game has too many levels and grind for that. It would be fine in a game like say, Blade and Soul because getting to max level takes about a week there.
And I believe I am far from the only one who thinks this way, not everyone would stick with ToS through anything when there’s so many other games out there. In the best interest of this game I believe in circle/rank resets because it wouldn’t make people tired and go to another game and reduce this game’s playerbase and income.
To every single “be smart about your build” comment. You CAN’T. Too much information is purposely (I might add maliciously) HIDDEN (by IMC) from the player base for us to make any kind of informed decision.
It is STILL to !@# !@#$ easy to make mistakes with builds atm.
If you wanna reference RO, it had so many tools to prevent mistakes from building. All the information needed to make an informed decision was readily available.
The point of this game’s class system is to figure out things yourself, class and skill exploration is a feature of the game. If you don’t like it leave.
Although, if there are heavy nerfs/revamps to a specific class, imc should put out some kind of class change. Although, with the way KToS balance is going, they won’t touch popular builds even they’re op. So…
A complete circle reset ? No way in hell. that would be stupid. As others have pointed out, you could just level up with an easy class and then switch to your desired class which might be a pain to level up. That would take all the challenge out of it. So no, a complete circle reset would be dumb and would make the whole experience of planning out your build obsolete.
A partial circle reset on the other hand, i can see working. For example, only allow people to reset the current circle they are in and pick a new class for that circle. That way, people could try out a class at rank up and if they dont like it, they can reset it and pick another class for that circle. Of course, that should be limited too, like only 2 per circle or something like that.
Also, as @jonathan_yulu said, if you dont like it, leave. Planning your class is part of the game experience and should never be changed.
I hate your statement. Stop telling people to “just reroll” as if time is not a luxury. Great, I’m happy you don’t mind reroll, but for those if us who can barely level 1 character, there are better solutions.
I’ll quote you on that when new class circles come out and the whole meta changes, so that you’ll either have to reroll or stick to a character that just doesn’t work anymore because there were major changes to skill and their synergy.
Circle reset as such is sorely needed when major changes occur.
It is not, however, needed in shop for everyday use.
You elitist people. “If you don’t like it, leave.” Give me a break, seriously. They obviously care enough to have an opinion or preference, they just want to enjoy the game instead of dealing with the frustrations of a gimped character. I agree with your current circle reset though, that seems fair.
Thing is, once a patch comes and changes one or several classes so much that it is no longer enjoyable for various reasons, people will leave. I know I would.
And that is not something we want, if we’re interested in what’s best for the game.
We want people to want to stay, we want people to enjoy the game. That is how a game’s playerbase stays within good measures and that is how the game makes money. Otherwise the game dies (it will eventually anyhow but we want to keep this thing floating for as long as possible, right?).
As I said, major nerfs/revamps (for revamps I personally include the addition of new classes, since the entire tree is being changed), some level of change to circles should be allowed. Especially since, largely by IMC’s poor design choices, most of the rank 7 classes are extremely powerful, when rank 8 comes out, most of those classes will very likely be extremely powerful as well. And obviously having 1 rank in every class from rank 7 - 9/10 is rather silly.
However, if you mess up because you didn’t google your class, or if you pick a class that has very little/no information, then that’s a personal issue. You chose to go into the unknown instead of classes that have been tested thoroughly. You deal with the consequences.
@Xenobius_2 As someone who rerolled two 100+ chars already, you can quote me when i say this: If major changes to a class happen, then the people who took that class, should be able to re-pick the circle in which that class was taken. Everyone else should either reroll or stick with their choices.
I agree with most of what you said!
However, if the reset costs money (idk, $10-20?), I don’t believe people would be so hasty/carefree to just buy it because of one little peevee etc. And even if a small portion would, IMC makes more money which is good for the playerbase in the long run.
That is why I want the reset to cost money UNLESS a major patch is coming (like a new class or class overhaul).
