Build comparison

Mergen AoE is possible but it is gimped AoE. Mergen skills lack +AoE attack ratio bonus, and archers have 0 base AoE ratio. All mergen skills are burst-type.

Even if you rely on falconer circling it might fail. Mobs randomly -resist- circling debuff. Circling+triple arrow&homing arrow combo messed up+fail when 1-3 mobs resist circling debuff. You could try to compensate through +AoE attack ratio gear & buff but it is limited. You would need a squire food friend, sorcerer cat buff friend, or AoE set. Usually AoE special set lack crit/damage/survival.

10 seconds circling, able to spam 2x triple arrow + immediately 2x full charge lv.5 homing arrow. Circling end. If you get knockback or interrupt, you will have to use a lower level homing arrow -> release homing arrow level 1 for less damage. If you hug all enemies you will get all hits of triple arrow on the enemies.

Mergen 2H bow specialization is nice vs flying. Core strong skills are multihit (ignore shaft and spread shot).

I believe cannon2 is stronger at AoE burst. Skills have %multiplier and +AoE ratio. All skills single hit burst except cannon barrage which is 3 hit. Bazooka mode +% booster is really nice.

SR is most convenient true AoE. Strong combo with card buff & cleric friends, becomes sustained AoE damage.

You must realize, scout1 most convenient skill is the invisible movespeed buff. Very safe quest, very easy map explore, and able to skip some ET floors with linker2+party invisibility. Flareshot5 and fluflu & barrel is just a little bonus. Scout1 is not picked for offensive ability.

With scout, high cooldown invisible:

Nobody used to play krivis3 because melstis was deemed to be useless. Since 1 Korean ET video cleared 20f with krivis reiter, everybody made krivis. Then devs released taoist and even more krivis3 were made.

In ktos and itos Plague doc has always been the more popular rank7. With r8 release, and player guides such as veritas-dievdoctor guide, diev3 ausrine everywhere. Card revamp, gem revamp. Now we have Austis card combo everywhere. Well, miko-diev combo such as clap silence tree also quite something.

Seem like sap2 falcon 3 alone have alotmore dmg than mergen xD.

is this combo viable in miki?

and is not possibile this combo get fixed? seem kind a bugged like when inquisitor intial Pear of Anguish dmg was a way OP.

Some patches before, circling was always succesful vs mob.
Now some mobs might resist debuffs (including circling). This is very annoying. This is why I mention it.

You enjoy sapper(2) a lot right? It is best to decide 1 or 2 main classes and pick other classes to support those classes. Or pick classes for synergy/combo.

Turn into A2 sapp2 ranger1 rogue1.
You will get AoE attack earlier (barrage). You will feel less bad vs flying mobs.

Crit rate buff with arch2.
Sapper2 broom trap, punji.

Sap2 falcon3 has the gimmick punji trap. Long cooldown and doesn’t work vs bosses (cannot launch boss). I have never seen anyone use this at solmiki.

After bazooka his broom trap damage increases a lot.

yes definitely but you will need to have a static melee dps prefer group for you to fit it well.

Basically to reach out more to the ET groups or even better form your own.

Falconer just requires aiming and circling to be useful the rest you can just see dps do wonder with it

Falco c3 is the worst trap I have seen in a while.

Circling in most set up is not even needed if not for archer himself since your own skill are garbage, plus u do literally nothing for almost 1min after u got a single burst combo.

Sustain DPS is important, don’t watch at video of a single rotation without considering CDs, hell I can roll ranger3 rogue full str with glassmole stacking and burst milions with a isbality. It doesn’t mean that’s good.

it depends on R9 actually so it’s not a trap until the announce of R9 synergy.
Then again it’s IMC. so prepare for the worse for all classes.

Look what pryo linkers are now with agni.

look at cosair as well. it was promise something ends up being rubbish anyway. While doppel and fencer surpass all borders and dragoon rekting people faces on R8. R7 dragoon was lack luster so is doppel and fencer.

Aiming+circling will never be a trap. Regardless of situation. Until they start come out with bosses/mobs with blood letting or to clear debuff.

then again speaking about future. It’s as good as telling some one things that never come true, might as well care about the present atm.

I think your class choices fit you well. They have sustained dps. Low cd skill, skill rotation, extended attacks.

Yes, falcon3 is quite a passive playstyle for archer class tree. Activate pre-emptive strike, cast aiming, cast circling. Wait for CD. Most players don’t use manual sonic strike (decent debuff), manual pheasant (decent knockback or stun with attribute).

@tidus You could start leveling A2 > sapper2 already. If you are still in doubt, you could wait at sapper2 > ?? advancement. Or at A2 > sapper2 > Ranger1/rogue1 > ??.

The best thing the video show is faint + barrage combo with aiming.

go ranger mean skip sapper.

I can already imagine how good the build would perform with a falcon 3. ( making falcon 1 useles if in tem with falcon 3?

situation about debuff resist is kind meh. (i’m stating to hate random rng settings of the game) usually monster are immune to some kind of CC or simply take it. Not RNG resist.

after all this thread seem like in the end is better don’t even back to play if you aim to any archer class outside SW3 untill rank 9 land =/

even if roll a2r1sap2ro1 falcon or scout variant any of two build will be gamble b/c if mergen is still underwhelming at c9 need to wait c10.

if mergen is good at c 9 still not better wait to know optimal setup?

Falconer 1 is a circling exclusive class, there’s nothing else it can truly do in PvE nobody wants hovering in PvE it is more disruptive than it is helpful, same goes for Pheasant, bui atleast pheasant when used right can be a life saver.

Falconer 3 is a full support build, it has everything a falconer 1 has, better and more. Aiming and circling’s attribute and sonic strike’s debuff is something possible to apply somewhat reliably thanks to preemtive strike.

As for the resist nature of things, honestly it makes no sense at all. but it is there, a 50% of resist is stupid, because we don’t even know if it is 50%. The maths applied to resistance are unknown and increasing a skill level don’t increase the odds of success.

Playing as an archer that is not a schwarzer is just as rewarding as playing as a schwarzer. It just comes down to enjoyment and fun, just find something that provides that.

I can tell you that as a hunter 3, falconer 3 salvaged hunter in a great way. Allowing for a wider growling makes controlling a mob easier. The lack of damage I had was fixed thanks to circling’s attribute. My in between circling’s stuff to do remains the same but was augmented thanks to preemtive strike autocasting sonic strike, thus, decreasing my overall time to kill.

So, I just hope that you find what you wish to play.

mean if going to be in same pt as falconer 3 is worth to have 1 rank in falconer to provide more circling to the team. Or if it would be a waste by team up with a falconer 3.

i would like to play mergen, class that should be focussed on AoE, but atm is restricted to AAR (three arrow) and to falconer (hoaming arrow)

so is underwhelming since day 1 of rank 8. (seem like to be inteded as underwhelming for r8 since it don’t get any buff while the dev team can do something about this).

I wanted to play mergen but seem not worth untill rank 9 lands.

I was thinking about roll a falconer also in the past, but seem like sapper falcon (the build i would have more fun with) is lacking of dmg (b/c is full support class) thing that can change in r9.

So i love archer three, i dont want to roll an inquisitor a doppel a fencer or a sw only b/c they are meta right now. Also don’t want to roll a necro c3 only for afk farm and cap the gape between OP player and common one.

But seem like archer tree is restricted to SW3 and with KToS patch cannon 2 or nothing for the PvE / miki. and also no future proff to roll/increase attribute or anything can help in along term view b/c rank 9 future is quite unsure.

Thinking to sw or doppel (most OP AoE class right now) they got their main skill at c1 so i don’t really know what i can expect from mergen.

Also the various leak about spread shoot attribute just make me more scared. (maybe if they had fixed the animation making it less buggy, but they could have do that already no need to wait rank 9 to do so). and maybe mergen would have a one more filler worth even at rank 8 instead of a bugged skill.

There’s no problem in having a falconer 1 next to a falconer 3. just wait for their circling to be done. since yours would not have the attribute.

To be honest having that much uncertainty while good in a certain way seems to be crippling you way too much. Perhaps, just throw yourself at a class and see how you like it? Maybe throw all your options at the wall and see which one sticks?

We know this game has certain classes that are by far superior than others, doesn’t mean that those other classes are unable to play. They’re just at a huge disadvantage when it comes to competing with those meta options.

Lastly if you’re so unsure, and would not like to do anything until further rank info appears, meta changes or that IMC finally grows a thinking head and fixes this unholy mess we call tree of savior. Perhaps a break might be what you need?

meh i could run miki with an archer like falc 3 or sw3 and switch gear to mergen for “fun” but this is really sad.

i was thinking about the scout variant instead falconer also hoping for mergen stand alone. So a rank in scout give you one good aoe burst skill and PvP / GvG survivability.

But hard decision at rank 8 on a underwhelming class that become more underwhelming without that 10 sec of circling. True that the down time is almost same as mergen skills. But i don’t know. in the end allow to cast 2 three arrow and 2 hoaming arrow. It will be forever its utility untill you change main skills.

So also don’t provide real benefit apart for this 2 skill.

and a2hunter3falc3 is OP in PvE for growling, but useless in PvP and unsure how work now with monste resist to CC. Also i played hunter and is quite bugged.

meta change untill we hit rank 10 after we will be constantly afflicted with buff/nerf and fixes.

So should be reasonable to have idea of our toon for rank 10 but we don’t. Probabily untill rank 9 or 10.

For now best thing is farm silver untill reach cap roll alts invest in silver sink attribute etc. etc. But i’ve no hype to do that if no char to enojy the game (same reason why i don’t have played reveletion online, instead i wait tera on console and hope bring few player for do some cool PvP. Also PvE apart for daily istance farm for mats is not so bad.At last are good mechanic that not are simply take meta char for reach dmg cap with true multihit skills for shoot endgame boss in 30 sec and any pull with him.

Oh well, atleast I tried.

Hunter’s coursing and retrieve are impossible to resist by enemies that can take CC. there’s those immune altogether. Snatching suffers from the resist thingy. Growling aswell, but is not nearly as bad since it is not a skill that is casted once and hope for the best, it refreshes every 3 seconds and at lv 3 the debuff last for 6 seconds making it less likely to be resisted once they’re under growling. Still, for some reason after like 15 seconds or so under growling most enemies trigger that silly run away AI.

Regarding the game design itself, it is very, very flawed this is very well known, it is also very well known that IMC does nothing about it. or has set a snail to do a programmer’s week of work about 9 months ago.

So there’s nothing for us players to do with the uncomplete picture, other than throw ourselves at something and pray we get a small dose of IMC’ed because we all will be IMC’ed sooner or later.

Nice to know! i didn’t know that growling also “refresh” the CC instead of be just 1 with a big duration. That’s good for PvE/CC resist.

well the thing that most concern me is that to be “fine” for the incoming updates i should have all this 3 build:

i’ve played all rank but not falcon and mergen b/c are the higher one and require more time. Also what i have to test is rank before mergen b/c mergen at c10 is rank 3 so the future is “sure in this way”

I liked alot faint + barrage as well as broom trap.

I’ve liked much also scout and fletcher magic arrow is great if combo with falcon 3 can be good filler (4 sec cd) but it still fall off when talking of huge pulls where his hit count easy go to 0 at the first tick. I like also the idea of crossfire, and if the skill would be more effective can make fletcher worth for AoE also (would like to see a burn attribute with transcedence weapon to see dmg b/c scale with phys power)

Broadhead amazing DoT for WB and PvP. Bodkin point if taked at max lvl can provide -80% phys def. (amazing both in WB and PvP).

for this is hard to choose for me. i’m fall in love with archer three and with those classes.

But is insane think to invest rank8 or even 9 attribute on 3x chars.

And the non-viability for the endgame PvE content (wich is what i aim for) not help at all.

I’m not divided on the class to play but how maximixe it.

They are nice words but fall off when talking of mergen.

I can only think about:

underwhelming class more underwhelming without that 10 sec of circling.

also not viable for end game PvE content. (wich is what i aim for).

(i never seen video of fletcher mergen on floor 40, max 35, so this mean no accessory/full set).

Well in the end i think for AoE i can skip the fletcher path untill get a huge upgrade on crossfire skill making it worth.

Fletcher even in team with falcon c3 is not so good for MA number of hit restriction. Easy run out at 1st tick.

I think i should skip falconer and take sapper for some fun in TBL / GvG (b4 need missle hole got fixed ofc)

but still concerned if roll another mergen with falcon instead of scout or not.

10 sec can cast 2 triple arrow and 2 hoaming. Vs Op skill with falcon 3, emergency close quarter CC, Cloaking (hide party with linker 2 and PvP utility).

Well if i go for scout archer suck in TBL for missle hole and don’t give me fun.

If go for falcon suck in ET b/c of mergen and don’t give me fun be lock on PvE content.

For ET you need 5 man consistent party and hone your skill synchronicity with your teammate everyday, discuss what each other need and planned everything from lv 1. It is hard to be ET freelancer. Question 1, Have you got your ET party?

I don’t even have 315 char.

But apart for ET is almost the same.

Pick falconer boost three arrow and hoaming for 10 sec.

Pick scout and be viable for PvP and better exploration (plus one good burst with falcon 3).

If can’t decide about this no sense.

Also i told you, there is a topic about mergen don’t viable for ET even with trans weapon lvl 7 (as free lancer).

With static Korean party i’ve seen max clear 35 floor.

Even if i had a party how i’m supposed to do better than a static korean pt maybe with lots of farmed stuff behind like attribute transcedence ecc ecc.

For only get to 35 and unsure if clear maye waisting thousand of hours and funds in a char.

And maybe r9 lands and we get stat revamp + new change of meta and make all your work useless.

If i have to play what i like i would go:

b/c i like those build for gamestyle, not viability.

But in a long term view i look also at viability.

Do you know an optimal setup to bring ANY Mergen build to floor 40 of miki?

if so i’m open to suggestion. But in a long research time never seen one.

how about pick both? Archer2-Ranger-Scout-Rogue-Falcon-X-Mergen?
I never interested in ET but CMIIW, 5th floor give glove&boots mats, 10th floor gives pants mata, 15th floor gives armor mats and 20th floor give loloweapon which (except for lolorapier) are easily underpowered compared to 315 purple weapon.
If the pattern is still the same for 20-40th floor, then 35th floor can give you complete solmiki armor set, 40th floor is solmiki weapon which will be replaced by the next rank 9 purple bow
