BURN!!! YOU TRAITOR!!!
Hahah pet can equip up to 2 weapons can’t they?
This is a kToS feature only, and it hasn’t come to our side yet due to it still being in a test phase or something…?
is it commendable to main Rushdog as a damage source?
No, but it is still good to have. This is my personal choice of damage source:
Retrieve >= Snatching > Rush Dog > Coursing
BURN!!! YOU TRAITOR!!!
Rood, my character is still there >:[
I’m not recommending this class for beginners but here are some of the capabilities of hunter falcs (Hunter3 Falc3 here)
This is how hunter falcs carry at ET
2F and 4F, 9f can be perma growled by one
also if you fulldraw
Lovely.
Could you share with us your Snatching skill level and attribute level? Thanks.
Snatching level 18 (Savage bow + gem) at 100% attribute
Hey! I also wanna brag!
Personally I love how Aiming salvaged in an amazing way Growling
Ok, wow…didn’t expect to get so many replies in a few hours.
What I originally was thinking about doing was Hunter 3 and Falconer 3.
I have a question though, if I wanted to solo more, would Quarrel Shooter or Ranger be a better option than Hunter? I think I may try to get to class rank 3, and see if I really dislike this class, my class level is currently 12.
Not really sure if I’m just not enjoying it because I’m only archer 2, literally only using 3 skills.
Also, what skills would you reccommend for any of these classes and how much points should I put into them?
If Falconer really isn’t a good option for me, and I decide I’m not really enjoying my character once I reach class rank 3, would Cryomancer or Rune Caster be a good choice? That was another class I was interested in.
Game generally gets more fun with higher levels because you get new toys to play with and the game gets a little more challenging too. (I think levelling base Archer with Oblique Spam and Multishot is dull)
Once you can go into the first dungeon levelling feels less tedious - especially after level 90.
Hunter was a great help while levelling. Rush Dog is good damage for Rank3 and can be spammed (something to do during cooldowns), Snatching is just unfair vs flying mobs and Coursing helps with tough mobs (just lean back while your pet does the job. Does not work on boss types enemies)
I think Hunter is a great support class for solo play since it brings CC and utility, just no aoe.
I don’t know if the drawbacks of Hunter Falconer were mentioned before but:
Hunter-Falc takes up 3 character slots so you will need to buy extra slots if you want more than two characters.
You need to learn to deal with the pet ai. It’s sometimes frustrating.
You will get a free pet upon choosing Hunter and again through Falconer but pets will be behind in levels by a mile. I don’t know how much Hawk levels matter but ground pet levels matter quite a bit (pet takes a beating from time to time).
I’d say choose Hunter and play it to like class level 3-5 (one point in Coursing, Rush Dog and Snatching) and see how you like it.
You can reroll or use the precious class reset we will be getting (so you don’t need to level again) afterwards. Rank 3-4 are kind of the points where rerolling doesn’t hurt too much.
Hunter Falconer fulfills a support role, yes. However out of the classes I’ve tried it is the most engaging and fun, artificially challenging due to the technical difficulties but above all. Fun to play.
Falconer 3 paired with Mergen might do quite a bit of damage in rank 9. However I hope they bring another gimmick to play for the fun value, or they bring an equivalent to murmillo for hunter and falconer.
As others have stated, this class is hard to level. Mostly due to the nature of the game itself, the game wants you to do AoE skills to kill, yet for hunters it only gave us rush dog and snatching, this last one is only applicable to flying type.
Falconer from 1 to 2 lacks, you’ll be a one trick pony with circling, this won’t go away in circle 3, it’s just that the trick all of a sudden got amazing. Kind of puzzling why falconer, a Red icon mind you (supposed to be damage dealer) is 98% support.
I took it as my first character, I still main it to this day due to the amount of fun it provides, later ranks might provide some AoE for us at the press of one button instead of the current long setup.
I advise to stay away from this class as first character mostly due to the hard time it has killing quest bosses, Bosses are immune to hunter skills, unless flying, then they can get hit by snatching. There also happen to be immune to CC monsters scattered through the world, their presence is not all that high, but they’ll wreck your days once you encounter them mostly due to a huge chunk of them being magic casters. These monster immune to CC are immune to hunter skills, with the only exception being rush dog.
So, as I said this is a fun class to toy around with, even main if you’re me, but, it won’t be easy, and you’ll often question what’s going on when you look at your sibbling archer classes but in the end it might be worth it. If not by the damage it deals or versatility it brings, for the fun.
@Blanko1230 So, hunter can be good for PVE? Any tips on how I could do better at bosses?
What do you mean by it takes up 3 character slots?
I’ll go ahead and get my Archer C2 to Hunter C1 and see how it’s like, would that be dumb?
I don’t think I can really get the class reset when it comes out so I’ll more than likely have to delete (because I want my current archer’s name) and restart.
@Composition Yeah, Falconer/Hunter does seem like more of a solo class imo, I was pretty surprised when I found out how it’s more support and clerics of all things are better for solo play…
I’m glad to hear you think it’s fun and took it as your first class, kinda makes me feel a bit better about this lol
I know it’s not recommended for new players but I honestly wanna try, I’m not sure if I like any of the others.
It does seem like a really fun class but I don’t wanna be painfully weak…
Like I said before, I’m probably only gonna play with one friend who’s aiming to be fencer and I’m not sure what else.
If I went the hunter/falconer route, would us partying be a bad team?
I apologize if I’m being a bit stubborn or dense…^^"
Important to mention
1 pet = 1 character slot.
If you take hunter dog => -1 character slot
Falcon => -1 character slot
So with hunter-falconer, you lose 3 character slots.
Free players have 4 character slots.
Oh! Okay, I didn’t realize the falcon counts as a character too, thanks for clarifying.
I might have to rethink this a bit now :l
Hunter Falc in ET is SOOOOOOOOOOO nice
Here are some considerations for this build and highlights:
Have in mind that you are CC - Utility Archer with some ok dps.
PvE will be easy mode when you reach the growling skill.
There are some mobs o highest lv’s maps that take no CC from us, so it’s a quite frustrating experience, having 3 circles of a class that can’t deal with a specifc mob in certainly mobs.
The build has much potential out coming yet, there will be gear for the pet and the attribute of 30% stats from pets on skill.
A.I can be trully dumb at some parts, you will find your way to deal with this.
We do melt flying mobs with snatching + sonic strike
(demonstration of my character)
Well… when your multishot starts doing 12~17k, you know anything would destroy flying mobs
So guys, my fellow hunters! What is now better, Coursing or Retrieve? We use to put more points into Retrieve due to Coursings bugs. Now that Coursing no longer keeps the pet stuck until the duration is done, which is more powerful?
Due take note that while Coursing is active that enemy loses defense as well as gives any attacks on that enemy 40% additional crit chance. Retrieves only saving grace is that it drags the enemy and a little more skill damage.
I’m personally leaning towards more points in Coursing.
Retrieve will always do more damage than Coursing, not to mention that Retrieve can pull Clerics out of their lovely safety zone so it’s a plus 10 :^). Having Coursing up to 10 is enough because you can easily maintain the target disabled thanks to its 2 overheats and low cooldown.
Sure retrieve has more base skill damage, but doesn’t Coursings additional crit chance make coursing stronger long term, due to more crits?
Lets not forget to mention that coursing boosts not only itself, but other attacks made on the target.
Right, but I will quote what I said:
Having Coursing up to 10 is enough because you can easily maintain the target disabled thanks to its 2 overheats and low cooldown.
Which I understand. I’m asking which is more beneficial regardless of its duration.
Cause with that thinking in mind I might as well leave Coursing at 1 and Retrieve at 1 and just alternate skills when one goes on cooldown.
