Are Falconers/Hunters weak/worth it?

Hello to whoever may be reading this!
I need help again, haha… I wanna get some TP items for a character but I wanna be sure this is the character I want. I’m having a few problems though so can anyone help?
Before I really got serious about this, I looked into a lot of the classes. (It’s so hard to pick lol) I decided I liked Falconer a lot, and even Hunter. I didn’t really look that much into it though until now…and I’m not too happy with what I’m finding. I also can’t really understand/find answers to my questions.

So, is Falconer/Hunter a bad idea? Is it a weak class?
I’m not sure if I’ll be doing much PvP or anything atm (Not really sure what endgame things there are to do)…I think the idea of fighting with a Hawk and companion is cool, and really at this point I’m not interested in the other classes so I wanna see if I can make this work.

I’m currently a level 38 C2 Archer, and I feel that my damage is really low. I need to spam skills in order to kill things, and that takes a lot of SP.
It might just be because I’m low leveled though…
So, if I got better gear and stuff could I do better damage as a Falconer?
Can anyone give me tips on how to make this a stronger class?
I also don’t really understand the attributes and stuff quite clearly…so I’d need a quick and easy explanation on that.

I need to figure out if going for the class I want is worth it, or if I should look into a different class before I get into it and buy the TP items. All the information I’ve looked up was made several months ago too, so I’m not sure if anything’s changed.

I’m an extreme noob to this game, so any noob-friendly tips would be very helpful. Thank you so much in advance!

seriously ?

Seriously what?
Did I do something wrong? ._.

Buy hat 1, 2 and 3 with at least 100 phisical attack this will definitely help a lot and I would not recommend split your status points, just put in dex this should be enough up to lvl 200

I don’t think that’s really answering my questions but ok.

You are doing it really wrong. Buy Sacrament and Blessing from Pardoner shops to breeze through low level areas.

Not at all, but it’s one of those builds that require a lot, and I shall say again,

A LOT

of patience to level, since you’ll be lacking the cheesiness that some other classes in the archer tree on certain ranks (Ranger, Wugushi and Fletcher cough cough). Leveling the build is a pain.

Hunter is a support and a single target disabler class that has a very low powerhouse at early levels, where mobs have a really low amount of HP and you’ll need to take them down one by one due to the lack of AOE.

Falconer in the other hand is a more flexible support-ish class that is able to make AOE skills hit more targets at once (At C1 onwards) and increase the hitbox of targets (At C3).

So, if I got better gear and stuff could I do better damage as a Falconer?

Falconer and Hunter skills have two different ways on how the damage is addressed.

Falconer’s Pheasant and Hunter’s Rush Dog are the only skills that the damage is based on your Pet’s attack, all the other skills are based on your character stats.

I need to figure out if going for the class I want is worth it

I extremely do not recommend you on picking the build as first character, It’s a really difficult build and you’ll just loathe the game doing so, unless you consider yourself either a really patient person or just a masochist.

I wanna get some TP items for a character but I wanna be sure this is the character I want.

If you have doubts on what to get, I always recommend getting Cafrisun set and some headgears with Elemental Attack Property.

Elemental Attack Property increases the damage of all sources of damage you do. It does not matter if it’s physical or magical.

I think I can call myself a veteran Hunter player so if you have any other question regarding the class just go for it, I have some knowledge about Falconer as well.

What he wanted to say is that under lvl 200 everything dies at least in two hits. After 200 it gets hard for Archers and 280 you stand in front of 300k HP mobs while hitting stuff for like 3k with decent gear.

Falconer is a strong support but then again people are retarded and usually only take for partys what is known to them (which is Rank6/7 content). To get some good use out of a Falconer you need friends and a fixed party.
If you are new it will be really hard to find others to play with because most people feel high and mighty and don’t care for new players.

Sidenote: If you want Singleplayer fun then roll Cleric.

First, let me thank you for taking time to type all of that.
I have a couple of questions and I’m sorry if they’re a bit dense.
Where is the Pardoner shops? And what exactly are Sacraments and Blessings and what do I do with them?
So, basically you’re saying Falconer is not a bad class, but requires patience to level? It’s not recommended for a new player?
That really sucks…

Also, I already know what I was gonna get lol, just some personalized stuff and a pet.

Is there any other classes I can go to make my Falconer good for solo play? I’m an anti-social person and the only person I’ll be playing with is literally just my friend, probably never gonna really play with anyone else.

even if you don’t end up playing a hunter the tp shop pets give you a decent buff and you can mount them for +4 movement speed. but they can bug out pretty ez if you ride them and fight a lot. another benefit for having a pet with you is that they level up and increase your team level which makes you get bonus exp.

Archer - Quarrel Shooter 3 - Archer 2 - Falconer 3.
Still the best way to solo it but for this build to be halfway decent you need really good gear (Didel GC, Max Peta, Sissel). But then again for a 2 person party that’s not good.

If you mostly solo, really just pick up Cleric because they can. If you mostly stick with your friend then one of you should roll a Cleric at least otherwise you are both stuck in R8 content. It’s perfectly fine to clear at least all maps/quests with a party of 2.

First, let me thank you for taking time to type all of that.

I love the Hunter class since iCBT2 so it is my pleasure to talk about it and explain how it works.

Where is the Pardoner shops? And what exactly are Sacraments and Blessings and what do I do with them?

In all towns you’ll see some players with balloons on top of them, those are shops, they sell all sort of useful services that can ease your low level experience. The one we are looking for are the Spell shops, the shop can only be created by the Cleric’s class Pardoner and they look like this:

They mostly reside on Channel 1 of all towns.

Pro-tip: Only buy buffs from people that sell the buffs for less than 1000 silvers each.

So, basically you’re saying Falconer is not a bad class, but requires patience to level? It’s not recommended

Uh, not really but it depends on what classes you are taking before that. If you are willing to take Falconer 3 on your build for example, there are three different builds that people go for (With some variances between them of course):

Archer -> Quarrel Shooter 3 -> Archer 2 -> Falconer 3 (Easy~Medium)
Archer 2 -> Sapper 3 -> Falconer 3 (Medium~Hard)
Archer 2 -> Hunter 3 -> Falconer 3 (You must hate yourself)

Falconer is a really good class to leave it as C1 just for the utility it provides. People that go for Falconer C1 at later levels normally go for:

Mergen
Musketeer
Cannoneer
Hackapell (Not recommended without a good build insight)

Ok, so basically Falconer isn’t good for a new player who solos like me…

What would you recommend for Cleric?
I can’t say I’m too interested in any of the classes, but Druid seemed a bit interesting.

Alright, I’ll try checking that out. Thanks for the tip.
I’ve been thinking about restarting because I messed up with my skill points…

I’m not really sure what I want for class, I just found Falconers and Hunters pretty interesting. I’d take whatever is strongest and can solo, but if Falconer really isn’t a good beginner class then I can just forget about it and look into other classes…

Thank you for the information though.

Level 38 is still pretty early in the game so it’s still fine for you to mess up a little, just do not forget not to delete the character, because having leveled characters increases your lodge’s level, which gives you % exp increase.

Just do not forget to buy the Sacrament and Blessing buffs whenever you have money for them, it will change your early gaming experience drastically.

I’ll figure it out I guess, but thanks for all the tips. c’:
Oh, one more thing, can you tell me how exactly I use those shops you’re talking about? I now know what all the players with bubbles in the middle of Klaipeda are, but I can’t get into any sort of shop when I interact with them. It just brings up their character information?

You need to click on the bubble on top of them to open the shop, and then click on the Purchase button next to the buff you want to buy.

Just be sure to get near the seller when buying the buff, otherwise you won’t buy it.

Ooh, ok. Thank you so much.

For Cleric you can go many paths. Cleric 2 is always a stable. For example if you want to play Melee (CON/Dex) Cleric you could go:

Cleric 2 - Diev - Paladin/Priest - Monk 3 - Inquisitor
or
Cleric 2 - Diev - Paladin 3 - Monk - Inquisitor

But this is harder than the caster Cleric. For caster Cleric a stable base is:

Cleric 2 - Diev/Bokor 3

The strongest solo paths you can take then are either Druid 3 (Werewolf) or Plague Doctor 2 (Fire Mage).

Still for Falconer got a vid for you. This is what A2-QS3-Falconer3 grind looks like. Took me a while to find a red mob for decent demonstration.
Points to note:

  • It’s the easiest R8 monsters you can find. They are full melee, don’t hit hard on decent gear and have low HP (only 200k).
  • If I sum up the total investment in my Falconer it’s probably about 60m Silver. Not completely sure, might be more but not a lot.

Should be up soon.

Alright, I’ll look at the video when it’s up then. Thanks.
Um, but if any of you have an answer, would this build be good for Falconer?- http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/bojdtalwc9/
This build doesn’t say to use it, but I saw a video of a Falconer using Multi Shot and it seemed pretty useful…
I don’t really wanna give up on this class hah, it seems to be the only one I’m interested in. I’m also the type of person who plays characters/classes I like.

I’ll try to look into Clerics too, though…
