Are Falconers/Hunters weak/worth it?

Ah, alright let’s see…

I normally like to leave my pet killing a mob while I got for another one, so I use retrieve for this case since it does more damage. When you have to focus on a single target Coursing will prove to be better yes…but how many cases will that happen? If Coursing worked on bosses it would be THETHING…but for now it will always be overshadowed by Retrieve.

Most Hunters have high DEX so critting isn’t a problem for them.

Makes sense. Two more questions. It seems that fear (the actual debuff) reduces damage of the afflicted target. By how much I am not sure, but I seem to notice it when I use Pointing’s attribute on bosses. You think this is good or bad and should be kept?

Second question, does retrieve and coursing work together anymore like it use to? If so, mine does not.

use Pointing

Pointing is a skill that should be deleted from the game, it’s terrible. What a Hunter needs is a pet ready to receive orders, not having it wandering around aggroing random mobs.

does retrieve and coursing work together anymore like it use to?

It was declared as a bug patches ago, you can’t anymore.

Can’t comment on the first, the second, yup it’s like so. Man it was awesome when you could use them both at the same time. broke the pet at a 1900% rate, but the damage was nice.

The pointing attribute is okay, I’m pretty sure it works on bosses.

Pointing however makes your pet go full yolo and stupid so I don’t even bother using it

I like pointing when facing a single boss. It keeps him glued to it. Other than that pointing is poop (besides its Fear debuff).
Thanks everyone.

Use to play hunter back in the icbt and release, got tired of the bugs and deleted it. Now with the 4x exp and bug fixes, I have recreated it. Going for that lovely synergy, but masochistic build of: Archer C2, Hunter C2, Scout C1, Falconer C3.
Oh the pleasure… I mean pain :kissing_closed_eyes:

Edit: ok, cleared that.

Hunter/Falconer have the downside of being 2-3 characters in one. Although it’s basically nice, you have less character slots for alts unless you’re going to invest TP/$$$ for more slots…

A good thing of pet take slot
1.you can use that pet for other char/build after your pet invest stats boost(use a lot of silver) and no need to leveling it again
2.your team lvl will increase pretty fast. 1pet = 1char. 2pet+player = 3 char team exp

2 of good point you need to have more char anyway lol.

but if you play only 1char. pet take slot it’s not your problem.

and on top of that the boss being steel-type so the sonic strike does +50% damage on it as well

I know it takes 3 slots, it’s been said like a ton of times…

I think I’m still going to try and go for this class. I’m gonna look more into Archers and Falconer builds until I find one that I like. If I don’t like it, then oh well. I’ll look into a Cleric or Wizard class.
I’ll use some of the information you guys left though to help me figure out a build.

So, thank you all for taking some time to comment and try helping me. I apologize if I’ve been stubborn or dense about this.

All good, you want what’cha want. The important thing is to have fun, it’s a game :+1:

wouldn’t go for neither hunter nor falconer for damage making purpose, not really classes designed to make damage.
Might wanna look into different build for making damage, almost any archer benefits from archer c2, you have so many paths to go.

@Selphia Falconer 3 due to aiming benefits greatly melee classes, as this allows them to keep their distance, funny though most swordsmen seem to be ignorant and behave just like always. but for those that know it is a life saver if they’re particulary glass cannon~ish.

I don’t know if fencer has anything with AoE attack ratio, but circling benefits anything that uses skills based on AoE attack ratio and most importantly the “expand” attribute allows physical classes to increase their DPS as it replicates damage onto a (single) new target, however, this effect is triggered by any phyisical attack to any target within circling so it’s quite good. (Edit: forgot to add that’s oly 75% chance to replicate damage at attribute lvl 15, still quite good, 2nd edit: Forgot to add, this attribute, exclusive to falconer 3)

Just be aware of the skill behaviour, skill attribute of falconer and your team so you are able to exploit things to the possible maximum.

any know how to toggle between seeing the stats of your falcon or ground companion?
every time I click the companion tab,its just the ground one and I can never view my falcon

Yah, you’ve got to:

  1. go to your lodge
  2. select your ground companion and unequip it from your char
  3. log in
  4. press f9

:frowning: yea that’s what i thought.
too bad addon makers are pretty much dead, this be a nice feature to code in

Can anyone give me suggestions on a good hunter3 Falc 3 build? Apparently sapper 3 isn’t going to work out like I wanted and hunter seems like a good option given my situation.
