IMC are u going to open new f2p servers ?

I just want more cute costumes for accesible price, the problem is ppl think we are paying a cheap price for it, when we are not.

Just in my defense, I didn’t want a server for us, I just wanted to play in an international server. It is good to have a SA server, so people have a choice, but the price “solution” seems unfair the way they did.

And just to be clear, I’m not saying that the way it was before is good.

I honestly see the pricing changes having a completely opposite effect from what is intended. Steam has regional price changes for a reason, and they are calculated so that games have the same value around the world. Not the same price, but the same value. As in, the effort someone in the US puts into getting the amount of money necessary to buy an item should be the same (or as close as possible) to the effort someone has to put anywhere else in the world.

Money is a fickle thing, and living expenses influence greatly how much you can dedicate to your hobbies and leisure activities, such as MMOs. If IMC goes trough with this plan, it’ll be very unfair to players from other regions that didn’t get a dedicated regional server or just don’t want to switch.

“Oh, but if the pricing changes bother you so much, just switch to your regional server!” Yeah, but I don’t want to. This is meant to be an international server, where players from all around the world play together. I don’t want to limit myself to playing with only people from my country, that’s not the purpose of the game server in the first place. I don’t want a regional experience, and forcing me to go for that because of a huge price increase in my end doesn’t feel nice.

The general impression I’m getting is that IMC doesn’t mean harm, and is trying to level the playing field as well as possible. But let’s be frank here, Steam is the most successful gaming platform in the world by far, and if they opted for regional prices based on living costs, then I see no reason for IMC to try and do something different. This is a great stance that Steam has adopted, and it made many gamers able to purchase things for a fair price, things they couldn’t buy before. IMC’s actions seem to go backwards, ignoring all the progress Steam managed to accomplish in this field.

I can anticipate a loss of income for IMC, and also a loss of interest from some players, without any real benefit here. I long for the day when IMC will understand that for all the worries they have about gold sellers all they do is hurt their honest playerbase. Gold sellers will just use bots and farm silver, and no matter how steep the restriction, they won’t care, because they get silver for free anyway. Making things more expensive, limiting trades, taxing auctions, this changes nothing for bot users, but hurts real players to no end.

Please @Staff_Julie, @STAFF_Ethan, consider this comment an open letter from a player who just wants things to be fair. I understand that turning a localized game into an international one is a steep way, but I trust you’ll make the right choices once you understand the situation most people are in.

imo just all the complaing guys just dont get it. There is “injustice” on different prices for region. Steam did good changing the price based on the region reality. USD is very high on some regions, just making impossible to buy things on that currency. Look at Brazilian R$. The USD is 4 times de higher on currency. That means: a 50 dollar purchase will become 200 R$ for Brazilians.
And more than that, this number is a lot more large because the wealth of people inself. The base salary on Brazil is R$ 900. Pay R$ 200 for a game is about 20% of the base salary. On other hand, countries with dolar base salary get about 2000 USD as base salary. So, buy a 50 USD game is just nothing compared to other countries proportion like Brazil.
What steam did to the prices is just fine. Each region should be avalieted with their on reality, and the prices set based on that.

Pick one, you can’t have both.

Omg… That’s unethical, so you’re telling me that people from different regions paid different prices based on the cost of living in that certain country. So people could have been using a VPN to change their IP location and change their steam region, then an individual could have been purchasing the founders packs at a lower price. Now you’re coming out and telling me I paid more for the same game in which other people were paying at a lesser rate. I just want to know why all the prices weren’t at an equal rate from the start. This means that people from NA or Europe paid a higher price compared to other countries. Thanks a ton Nexon or IMC Games.

VPN-abusing user accounts are being monitored and blocked by steam . And if you actually read anything people above were saying about price adjustments, you`d knew that in Europe and US people are paying that much according to their salary.

That´s too basic for any company selling a product. If the local conditions(minimum wage) are not considered, the company is going to sell much less than intended. Brazillians really like this game because it´s like RO 2 for us. In RO We use or used to spend R$30 average or US$ 8.
To be affordable, the price for basic package needs to be maximum of U$10. Specially now that our economy is not going well.

This post shows a lot:

VPN doesn’t work on steam. Accounts that uses VPN get banned.

According to Wiki article, average monthly wage in the US is around 2800$

So, let’s use most basic math. 2800$ / 50$ = 56. So DLC1 costs 1/56 of average monthly wage.
According to another article, average monthly wage is 130E (145.6$), for Belarus 270E (302$) and for Russia is 370E (~414$).
Russian discount was 75% (or so) of 50$ = 12.5$ 414/12.5 = 33.12.

So even WITH regional price, Russians were paying almost TWICE MORE than Americans.

As for Ukraine, where i live, we didn’t have even that price, we had only -50%. With average wage being 145$ its 145/25 = 5.8, so it was ~1/6 of average monthly wage WITH REGIONAL PRICE. And now it’s MORE than 1/3 .
1/3, Carl!

US and EU were paying LESS, WAY LESS from the start. Like 10 times less compared to some countries. 10 times! And it’s 20 times LESS. 20 fkin times!

Equality!

P.S. As a person being dedicated to justice in every aspect of life since early childhood, i can’t describe how i despise people who are defending IMC position in that case.

Just move…its a server made just for you and oull have a much better playing experience, for yourself, and for those the Orsha server was intended for.

r u crazy? Everyone can use VPN in steam with no penalty, too many people use for better route

Hi @Staff_Julie @STAFF_John , as we can’t comment on the other topic, can you confirm the SA server location before we actually start sending our requests?

Thank you!

Hi, @Staff_Julie, @STAFF_John, I have a suggestion to reduce a bit discontent of people from CIS (as me) and other countries that had regional prices. I suggest to make a DLC which will contain only 1 untradable Token, and it should be affected to regional price reduction.

  • Most of us can’t afford its full price (me and my wife play together and our month income is ~550$, most of that money spends on daily needs, not even every month we can save about 10% of income for hobbies/travels)
  • Token is some kind of gamebreaking option, it’s must have, first necessity item for any casual player, too much benefits (timesaving, more exp, trade , comissions, etc)
  • cosmetic items is not that big deal, it doesn’t affect game balance. We would be happy if you make it tradeble and other TP items too, to сover outlay from regional prices on token (someone would buy it for your RM price, we would buy it for silver in place of token)
  • If most of people from some region can’t afford to play on equal terms with others it’s a problem, and pirates will try to use it, or you should make regional server for them. (we live in such country, we work as other people all around the world, but due to economical reasons we get less money then some other people so it’s unfair to sell us first necessity item by the same price, it’s a discrimination, classism if you want. Yes we can obtain it from AH and you get your money from someone who was happy to born in succesfull country and sells tokens from AH, but if you think that people from some contries should spend X hours grinding to become equal to other, ok then, sexism, classism, what next?)
    P.S. Sorry for my english.

Yes, that is true, but I live in Romania and according to the same wiki the average wage here is RON 1892 which is like 420 eur and yet I paid 45 eur for this game. (because Ro is EU) That is more than 10% of the average salary. And I had no discount to begin with, price was always the same as for any other EU country. I know no one cares much cause maybe there are like 4 ppl from my country playing this game. Anyway I am used to this, as no game I ever played had regional prices.
I don’t think there can be any fair way sadly. On hand it’s not equality that we should pay less and get the same as someone from Germany for example, but then again a lot less fortunate ppl just won’t afford buying anything in the game anymore… (and someone never afforded anything to begin with)

It’s sad, budy. More to this in every contry there are ppl which salary is lower than average, that is why there are sale periods, and now you can get DLC for a half of usual cost, i hope sales will be regular thing. Just want to tell, that it is so sad and radiculous same time when DLS on sales cost 2 times higher then it was before.
Anyway, wish u good luck in game and IRL.

Regarding Latency, i recently tested ping with this site, http://www.cloudping.info/
However klai and orsha are on US east, according to some info given before, at US East (Virginia) it gives me less ping than on SA (BR) i live in SA and it keeps me wondering if i should move, as in BR servers may be closer, but have crappier latency than US ones…

Also 85% will be portuguese and not all SA speaks it, in fact only 1 country does… :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s not surprising, Brazil has one of the worst connections of the world.

I live in São Paulo, Brazil and using the same site as you i got this:

Wonderful!!!
