Why Tree of Savior Needs An Advancement Reset Potion

You see, i did my research, i used a calculator and i read up on the skills. But the skill descriptions are bad. You have no idea what a skill might do even if you research it beforehand and the only way to find out is to try it, fail and do it again. And even though playing video games is my job and i did reroll, how many people will quit ? How many people have 200+ hours just to get back to where they were ? Do you want this game to constantly bleed players, do you want to only see 2 - 3 build per class, because people are terrified to make a mistake so they will look up builds online ?

More completely baseless cons not rooted in the actual reality of how people are suggesting this be implemented. Do go on.

Truly believe that those of you who are extremely anti-reset have no idea how much you’re hurting this game’s longevity (what little there is of it as it stands).

I’m more concerned about the game remaining ā€œTrial and Errorā€ like 200+ hours then suddenly your build sucks ass anyways with no real means to know otherwise unless you’re meta-whoring.

The reason I advocate against reset is because I’d rather have them fix the trial and error game design and fix the scaling and balance of the game. Why? Because if they did include class resets it would be something crazy like $20-$30 in the market… so you still got the trial and error game design and have to dish out large chunks of money to fix your build.

I’d rather not have things move to pay to win when they can fix the fundamental design flaws of the game instead. But if it can’t be done then class resets are better than letting things continue the way they are.

Class resetting isn’t pay to win it just saves time. Inordinate amounts of it. As does wearing a token

They aren’t going to fix the ā€œdesignā€ of the game. It would involve a complete upheaval of the game’s core advancement mechanics, and even better skill descriptions is unlikely.

A simple TP shop item and/or 1 per account re-assessment of your chosen classes is absolutely necessary.

1 per-character might actually be good. So if you get to end game and realize your build is garbage you can simply reroll to something better. I bet that would alleviate a lot of the frustration and pain.

IMC response to CLASS RESET POTION

With the IMC response to the topic this thread should be close and people should stop dreaming about it.IMC said that you will only be able to cancel your advancement quests…THAT’S IT!!!

So give up and move on LMAO…

I just got a character to level 150 before learning that I had been following a guide on ToSbuild that was utter garbage and waste of time. I would gladly pay REAL cash (upwards to 30 dollars) for a potion of some sort to allow me to change one circle. I only NEED to change one circle but damn IMC is making this retarded because now I gotta relevel a character to 150.

On Ragnarok Online you couldn’t reset you job choice.

Why?

Because it’s nonsens.

Those kind of game is about learning how every job works, and choosing what is your favorite way to play. If your classe don’t match what you want, just change it.

I feel like you’re saying ā€œboohoo I did a job but I don’t like it, give me another one pls plsplspslpslspā€. WHen you play other MMO it’s the same, you can’t just go to an NPC and : ā€œOh hi I’m a Thief but I want to be a Archer because you don’t say that Thief have less control skill than Archerā€

No, they don’t say it cause it’s more realistic, I know it can seems unfair but discovering thing is a part of the game.

Btw, if they could put the reset skill potion tradable once (yes because changing your way to play your job is still possible in a lot of games, and freely) it would be awesome.

In Ragnarok you didn’t have to make as many choices as here… You only had to make one actually… like monk or priest… There is rly no reason for a class reset there. You have to be quite dumb if you can’t make that 1 decision and even if you change your mind you only have to reroll once for it… So of course it is nonsense there…

ToS has a much much more complex class mechanic…you have to make choices on every rank and also extra circles give it even more difficulty…that means much more chance to mess up your build than in RO.
…I rly don’t think you could even mess up your class choices in RO…

Lots of people wanted a sorc when they saw how ā– ā– ā– ā–  warlock/wizard whatever it was called was.

So that’s untrue.

They only found it out the moment they hit almost max level and never ever get invited for anything because the class sucked without investing 10’s of douzends of euro’s.

Want another class? rerol. It’s that simple.

This is why you do research. It’s not like leveling in this game is hard like at all.

The problem with class reset potions is, that 99% of the server will role a OP combiation, which then get nerfed and the next class will be picked with another reset potion.

It’s a absolute terrible way to deal with it, and that’s also why not a single other mmo ever had this option. It’s beyond broken

You still only had to reroll once. ToS is still like at least 10 times more complex than RO.

You also just confirmed that in RO with a much more linear class advancement system a new advancement caused trouble… … … …and now think about ToS again…

You had to rerol your entire char, so does tree of savior i don’t see the difference.

you had to go from 1>100 do first and second job, then rebirth, again from 1-100 and 3rd job class + 100>175 again.

The skill system in RO was FAR more complex then this game ever will be.

As long as you have ā€œdifficultā€ game content, people will always request for resets of some sort. Game was designed so that making your next character should be easier. The only way class advancements would be easier to work with is to show off the skills in game or at least on the site with some skill information rather than having to depend on a lot of community sites

Hmm… I had to do a double take just to make sure that I’m playing Tree of Savior and not RO. I scrolled up, sure enough, the forums say Tree of Savior.

I think perhaps you are looking for the actual successor to RO which can be found here:

ā€œThis is why you do research. It’s not like leveling in this game is hard like at all.ā€

i duno how i should i feel about this game now -_- … I enjoyed RO and disovering things myself. but now I feel like when i play TOS i feel like im STUDYING. legit have to study so well before playing it.
When you have to research like 90% of the game before playing … wheres the fun part lol

Shh, lots of people agree with you but nostalgia fags will just say, ā€œWell this isn’t the game for you.ā€ or other funny insults like, ā€œYou’re just entitled.ā€ or ā€œGo play WoW then casual scum.ā€

I have learned to smile and nod my head calmly when it comes to the nostalgia crowd of people

Unfortunately IMC confirmed they don’t have ability to implement class reset yet.

ToS contents keep giving cookie cutter builds and dpser so many favors by throwing bosses and elite monsters everywhere.

So many classes have cool concept but being overshadowed because they don’t have anything unique or useful to offer. Some don’t synergy with most classes. Some are still incomplete and IMC have no idea what benefit they should have…

People who ask you to do research just want to tell you to copy those cookie cutter builds. Why should you risk your time and money to make your own build when you can copy others people and pretend to be good?
