if dex got block pen it will be cancer, because archer will up to full dex if it does

dex gives many useful stat already: accuracy, crit rate, evasion
and full CON wiz without animus only deal so so dmg so it’s not recommend
Out of those three, only Accuracy is really good. Crit rate is unreliable and evasion only gets you so far especially when magic can’t be dodged. And like I said, Archers would get the bonus either way as most builds for Archers are STR/DEX; it would only really effect how much they put into each point and I doubt they’d go full DEX due to this, they’d lose out on too much damage. But what do I know? =P
you must be kidding, my fletcher for example got 350 str, and the block penetration is only 120, you wont be able to beat them with that anyway.
there is a reason most of the best cataphracts got a lot of con and dex with minimal str
now i am adding up to 120 str (55 invested gets to 120 at rank 7)
and i will use block pene gear, but really going high str for this isn’t REALLY worth it, you wont get more than 200 block penetration from str (which is not that much compared to the stone skin.)

STR didn’t give block pen before, should be after that.
With 400 STR + cata attribute I should have over 700 block pen, which is enough to get through even stone skin

I want a season 2 so bad…
I feel that if DEX got block penetration STR would be nigh useless in comparison for PvP. It would pierce every form of physical defense currently available while also providing a defense that requires itself as an investment to pierce itself. Making it both safe defensively and offensively.
Of course we’d have to consider CON because of magic, but in all of that there would be almost no purpose to getting STR besides higher damage. We’d then have a trade off of these
STR: Higher damage ranges that are susceptible to block and evasion.
DEX: Pierces every form of defense providing a stable (with variance in terms of crits) form of damage in all scenarios. Along side defensive boost.
Really depends on how much block penetration they’d be adding though.
Least that’s my thoughts on the matter. Which is also why I HATE DEX models with overloaded stat gains.
the block penetration from str is near nonexistant, lol my fletcher got 400 str and only 150 block penetration…
my 400 str fletcher got 150 block penetration.
cata with 400 str will not be able to beat other catas who have dex and con. so you have to be careful with that.
disclaimer: you will NOT have 700 block pene with 400 str, plz dont do that you’ll suuck at pvp.
Yeah, you do have a point; I was just thinking that, if you went DEX if DEX raised block pen, you had to forgo damage, which is something you wouldn’t want to do in a PvP setting. You’d either be really accurate and evasive, being about to hit most things but still getting f*cked by magic, or you’d be a more tanky, high damage build with STR/CON.
But I do agree, giving DEX too many boosts is bad, and frankly I hate it when games make accuracy and evasion come from one stat; it’s stupid. But with STR getting the block pen boost it’s starting to sound like DEX is pretty pointless for PvP even after DEX was sub-optimal to go for in the first place.

the goal is to increase pvp performance
if you can’t deal with full evasion archers, you aren’t the best pvp swordsman. the goal is to be able to kill everyone, wizards and archers a like
its not a bug, str just doesn’t give that much block penetration.
It could be argued that Swordsman, in general, are just free kills for Wizards =P
But if all DEX is good for on Swordsman is to be more of a hassle for Archers with lower DEX then… that’s not a big saving grace, I wouldn’t think… Depends on how many Archers prefer STR over DEX.

I already beaten many of them, so yeah, that’s not really a problem to me.
After today with 400 STR I have 4001.21.4 + 20 (SPR) = 692 block pen

lol this is so true. was on TBL last night and all that’s left on my team was an Oracle. took at least more than 2 mins to kill 'er. match almost ended. lmao. it was also 3 players ganging up on 'er. cryo-chrono, catagoon and an archer (forgot what class). fcker just wouldn’t die
