Yes ofcourse, granted a swordsman is allowed to breach the lines, they can do work, but thats nothing i’d rely on without some SPR invested, im not in favor of letting RNG decide if i may get in or not.
Buuut that would mean im dropping either dps, hp, or accuracy.
It’s not hard at all to breach the line if you didn’t actually face rush into it at the first second.
Contrary to the name, swordsman are more like an assassin in TBL.
Just like a swordsman can wait for the right moment to go in, can the opponent hold for a CC spell icnase emergency scenarios, such as wild cata appears.

Because a CC not cast is a missed CC.
Also, it’s really hard to use your CC on a cata, the rush’s immunity to CC is just insane.

Sure, for the duration of rush, granted cata has painbarrier on at the same time, would give them a chance, but doesnt really put them in a good spot where they could be considered just as good as other classes,
example, for the duration of rush
A Scout would just hide in a barrel
A Cleric would safety wall
A Cryo could icewall, if cryo somehow has that available.
A Druid can Sterea Tofh
Not tested, but a falconer could probably use hanging shot, as desribtion says it “Prevents damage from close ranged damage”
If the Cata doesnt have painbarrier on, classes with knockback abilities would cancel the rush with 1 single hit.
But dont forget for the duration the cata needs to spend getting closer to you using rush, thats duration wasted for more potential dps.
You are forgetting about your teammate who can follow up. Also, you are rendering the war 4v4 or 4v3 as they can’t do anything during your rush, where your enemy can try to destroy your enemy with number advantage.
Again, the swordsman strongest ability lies in consistent unblockable CC (unless ausrine), compared to other class which your CC goes on a long CD when it missed.
Swordsman is sht only in mid tier TBL. Once you get into top 50 or something, that’s the point where you are actually the counter of the meta because you are the only one that can CC your enemy.
I had won quite some games thanks to having a swordsman to counter their PD.
If Swordsman can moving and hitting OR Skill at SAME TIME. Maybe it better
My point being swordsman arent in a good spot as other classes can be, i never claimed that swordsman is utterly useless/shouldnt excist in pvp.
I would blame those on the player’s personal skill.
Most swordsman player is somehow less brilliant and easily baited.

I have seen good swordsman player that’s actually useful in my team during tbl and gvg. Most swordsman player is sht because they don’t even understand how the other skill works.
It’s just like how most swordsman don’t even know how to evade the boss attack, and blame the healer for not healing them.
Swordsman are not for noob. You need to know how every skills work in game before you can actually use them to the maximum potential. I can say that swordsman is definitely underbalanced, but not as bad as most player make it out to be.
The bigger question is, without cyclone/rush attribute, now try and pvp with other classes. The selection of swordsman in pvp is very slim.
Couple of swordsman classes has their niche which makes them viable for pvp but besides that, there isnt really much to look at.
Try pouncing and cleave. Those skills are mad in TBL.
A useful info here. DT won’t work on you when you knockdown them with pouncing. Also, pouncing is unblockable by bloodletting or prophecy, so many warlock will actually get caught unsuspected and die.
Granted there is no cc aimed at them.
I’m assuming that your teammate is equal. So if they have PD, you have PD too.
It’s really easy to bait most CC due to the extra mobility (except the single target one). And with some training, you can cross guard most physical CC/DoT attack (it’s difficult, but doable).
Also, you need to time your position correctly. Of course you should try to avoid going in when all of them still haven’t cast their CC without bloodletting.
It’s all about the personal skill. Swordsman have a much higher skill floor before it’s useful, unlike other class that can be played brainlessly (somehow wizard can be played with lesser intelligence compared to swordsman in this game, how sarcastic).
Something most swordsman don’t realize is that, they are not suitable as a solo class in PvP.
Well not all scenarios includes a PD, and yes, swordsmans skillbar is higher than the other classes, as i mentioned in my earlier posts when i said something like “swordsman needs more effort”
Personally im fine, ive played all kinds of different swordsman builds since beta, but im not only thinking about myself,
I think the bar needs to belowered to ahve more players play swordsman, as its more common to see players use other classes.

Would speak to me if I saw more than one SW every two 5x5 matches.
Because it is better to bring WL, Necro, Sorc, Quick Cast, Wugu, Fletcher and other specific cases down, than breaking other classes on purpose just for the game being balanced around broken stuff.
Never realized I can pay attention to the few SW playing against or with me, or even spectating them, to see what they do wrong and die miserably, or do right and showing they have a brain.
You are expecting too much of them.
Its like 80% of LoL Katarinas, being the one to engage, getting CC’d during ult and blaming their team for not following up.
Do you know why? Because sword is the weakest class in 5x5 matches. Honestly? You don’t see them much and you think they are fine?
Last time we suggest a slight nerf to QC attribute, there’s a sh*t storm of players say that should not happen.
So you play against a few stupid swordies, and you conclude that all swordies are stupid?
