Why players aren't coming back

You just don’t want understand and admit.
Abusers and cheaters are in the game.

Oh, and as I’ve read they banned who I suspected for a long time :tired:
No, I didn’t reported him cuz I have only suspect and not evidence.

Why people are oneshotted in pvp? Because of equip. Better equip will always win. Then will come skills.
Is the same things in every korean games. Tree of Savior, Black Desert etcetc…

And we choose the risk? WTF?
And tell me, who we can kill mobs or do pvp with shitty equipment?

Please, be serious.

At least, as I’ve said I was an hardcore player in a lot of games and I’m telling that this is too much.
I’m litterally aware about the problem of this game.
I don’t have ham on my eyes.

Both my 2 practonium weapons never went beyond +11.

Also. it is pretty much REQUIRED to enhance your gear to do content

yes.

If you don’t have ham on your eyes why are you smashing your own equip that you cannot afford back.

Golden anvil to be sure, or stop before +11. It is not required. Trans is 100% sure to not fail and gives you enough attack even with the worst luck possible.

I never said this, I only wanted to make it clear that even with the odds on your side you can be unlucky. (and if a game is unrewarding it’s no surprise players are playing other games that reward you more for your work)

And Hachi’s Shield never made it beyond +5 iirc.

Shields before this patch had +6 being equivalent to +8 on weapons. Remembered now.

It is still your choice to upgrade, game doesn’t demand perfect gear.

More like an hardcore time waster.

Nah, I know what I’m saying.

And I was always right.
IMC have done improvements that I wanted and suggested.
No, they didn’t listen me, but I always spoke about what is the best of the game.

So, if you don’t know who I am and what I wrote in forum, you better don’t answer or you make a bad impression.
Because you know, copying “jokers” of others isn’t… uhm… what can I say… smart (?)…

Have I destoyed an equip?

Where I said it? :tired:

@GadenRhoss

I agree with you on most of the stuff but the current enhancement system really is too flawed at the moment, at the very least it needs to be capped. I think a lot people agree with it as I’ve seen so many players comment about it for a long time with barely any resistance to it.

Can’t only look at the attk. bonus you get from simply enhancing but combined the difference with high trans. Anything below +11 is trash on weapons as +11 is fairly easy to reach but can still be a bit too unforgiving as it has been in too many cases. I think it’s less of a problem with new random EQ’s but with masinios or really good roll EQ it creates a problem if you get really unlucky with enhancing them. (As they get pretty much wasted and getting a replacement requires a lot effort and/or luck.)

Cap is needed cause pretty much +11 casual/must, +12-15 good, +16-20 Amazing, +21-and over Whale/Abuser/Cheater/Nolife(Not impossible to normal players but highly unlikely.)

And honestly while many argue that it should be capped at +16, I think as Rehail suggested +21 is still fine, it gives still those who want to work for it a nice bonus over other players as +16 is definitely not impossible to get even for casuals. Everything over +21 is way too hard to acquire for normal players and gives too much of an edge for those who can get there. (I’m not really again’st a +16 cap tho.)

I also don’t think that giving free +11 is necessary but they could raise it to say +8-9 to give a bit of a help. (Or something else to make it a bit more forgiving.)

Suggestion for new type of anvils.

Alternatively they could introduce a new anvil which would protect potential loss at lower than +11 at max for example. Something acquirable in game but not too low of a drop rate so it’s something you’d have to work for. It could be a bit expensive too so that it would be mostly used on good gear you really don’t want to mess up. While not needed for gear that don’t really matter as much. Also as it would be limited to +11 it wouldn’t be too strong and could also be added to leticia cubes for example.

Improve enhancement systems isnt that hard.
Just let us use a certain numer of dust to improve the% of success. Cap the refine rate at +20.
Problem solved

This is a good suggestion imo but it needs to be balanced well, it has a problem of making enhance too easy or either the option pretty much useless. If done right it would be great for sure. (Not the easiest option to take but potentially best.)

Well there are alot of ways to do it well.
Some may be:

  1. you can get 100% success with an HUGE ammount of dust starting from +11
  2. you cannot never achieve 100% at 15 and go on
  3. +20 is max refine and dont get any benefit (since it would be +21) so you can stop at +16 and try your luck only for the later stage

other options is to make a +20 cap and just a craftable “one potential renew” anvil what cna be used on item wich are less than +15. Make it hard to craft.

You can think alot of ways to balance it. Atm a +20 weapon is 99% not legit.
Guys during the clover event i did once a +21 clover over some hundred of tries…

I downloaded steam :expressionless:

kalem euy, just enjoy the game~

Figured I’d throw in some food for thought as one of the older players in the game who just retired.

1. Story of ToS and lore doesn’t interests me.
And believe me I’m one of the lore junkies on the forum who can name every Emperors and history behind it all from reading every books you find in game along with reading npc dialogues. It feels like it’s poorly written but that’s from personal pov and no offense to those that genuinely enjoyed it. Good on IMC dev team for trying but the story is very linear and with every Goddesses I’ve met I wondered why they’re Goddesses in the first place when they mostly sat on their arse and expected to be a damsel in distress 90% of the time. The Saviors are more or less a glorified Janitors that has to clean up after the royal mess they made of the world.

2. Grind is good content?
With R9 we got several new classes, class reworks of old circles, few new maps, new HG and Challenge Mode. I’m relatively casual nowdays so I took my time clearing, trying out the new content but it provided little entertainment. Granted I’ve solo’d everything on Marnox most of the time so maybe it might have been far more entertaining if I found friends to play with on those new maps, but it provided very little challenge and since it’s not story driven the only reward to look forward to is potentially getting new random stat rolls from random gear that drops from monsters . I won’t say I have the BIS gear but I’m more geared than the average players, the way I found it there’s little improvements and upgrades I could gain from the new equips so I didn’t particularly found the new rewards tempting. When I’m already one shotting most things with 160k aoe dmg per 2 seconds, what will extra 10~20k dmg bring to change my gameplay? Things dying 0.2 seconds faster? lol At this point I was starting to wonder why I was even gridning on this game and questioning are the new maps, new modes enough to keep me entertained?

3. New Dungeons?
Most games usually introduce new dungeons with each expansions, giving the community a method/reason to form parties even though in ToS that’s a flawed design with little to no conversation. In ToS? We get less dungeons the older this game gets and with R9 update we lost even more dungeons which now has increased lvl gaps between. Granted most people hated how long the old 170 dungeon was, IMC could have made new dungeons to replace the old but instead decided to re-hash old dungeons to be the new dungeons. Where’s the effort dev team? It’s like eating the same cup ramen for the past 2 years I’m sick of it.

4. ToS is a Single Player Game
With the exception of few instances you mainly play this game solo. I seriously have to wonder why this game doesn’t have an offline mode because it wouldn’t make a difference for the average player. You can argue that I don’t have any friends to play the game with and sadly I can’t refute such claims because the few trusted friends I’ve met through my guild often play at different time intervals making it very hard to play together. Mind you I did try to ask for my guildies to play together but living across the different parts of the globe really makes it difficult to play together which I can’t fault them. Maybe this is less of an issue on kToS where most people that play on it are Korean so there’s more chances to make friends and form parties, sadly doesn’t seem to work as intended on iToS.

5. GMs are in game to answer irrelevant questions.
For those of you who genuinely find entertainment/joy/enlightenment whenever the GMs decides to hop in game and grace us with their presence good for you. For me however they hardly ever helped nor answered any of my questions/problems during most GM Meets. I understand that there is probably a limit of what they can answer as far as problems within the game goes and some questions are beyond their capability to answer, so yes I understand why I’m often ignored when I’m asking questions. Still didn’t make me feel any better when they choose to ignore me and answer ridiculous questions instead. Here are some key re-occuring examples below.

-GM plz wear (input name) costume and show us what it looks like
-GM Are you boy or girl in real life?
-GM can you plz LIKE me?!
-GM how do you do I am doing fine thank you
-How do I use imgur to post screenshots of bots?
-Can you teach me how to use google drive?
-What do you think is a cute headgear?

Instead of acknowledging and addressing problems with the game (Again I sympathize mainly because this game releases new bugs every 2~3 weeks with potentially no fixes) I feel like GMs do more harm pissing people off by roleplaying as the village idiots. If anyone is happy to convince me otherwise I would be happy to hear them out but so far I’ve never seen them doing anything more than hosting gatherings to answer some of the dumbest questions you can possibly ask.

I think those are the main reason why people aren’t coming back to play ToS and the reasons why after almost 2 years of playing ToS, I’m regrettably quitting the game for good.

IMC brought weapon and def centric meta because they were lazy to balance each classes. However little did they know it will bring more core problems because of this easy route they chose.

Just make your game casual friendly like your initial vision of this game. No player stress = free advertisement. Now give more importance on adventure, bug fixing, gimmicky quests, remove TBL(or introduce sparring place) and focus on guild war system like RO’s WOE, weapon uniqueness, stats and skills should matter more than weapons. Not this grind for the sake of RNG grind, very generic.

Guys have fun with this game i will be playing a casual MMO like lineage 2 revolution which can automatically fight for you but at least it lets you kill players you dont like on the field and there are actual ppl to kill.

Here are the many problems that hurt ToS

  1. Marketed as a casual game

It’s feel like this at first, but as you make more characters, you find that it’s a huge drain on time as you have to take care of every single character (yes, you can abandon).

  1. For the glory of one character

We all like to have that powerful character, and it comes at the price of sacrificing the progress of other characters that you make.

  1. Team?

It’s hard to call this game a team effort as the game mechanics are trivialized into objectives which the community queues up to tag along and defeat x mobs and then defeat the boss. Then you have your own lodge, which is nothing but a depot of characters and pets, the only thing you can do is level it up for “faster” progression, or a better cosmetic look. There is no other use.

  1. International release

This is a double edged sword, but it’s definitely not in the favor of IMC. By allowing equipment to reign supreme in overall progression of the game as opposed to a strong balance between stats, skills and equipment, it has allowed the RMT market to flourish (not necessarily in NA/EU). Now, we know this is against the rules, but playing enough MMOs there is always an underground market somewhere and taking those out is next to impossible. However, it can be greatly limited if equipments aren’t the major factor in battles and progression.
