My fav part about brazilians is that they don’t want to speak to you unless you’re brazilian as well.

Then they pretend to not know english. Tbh. you’re playing a game that 100% english. I KNOW you guys know some english.

That being said, not all brazilians are bad. I’ve met a bunch that are cool. Internet culture is very hivemind. Once people see that it’s easy to hate on brazilians, people just start doing it.

Another reason there’s so much brazilian hate is simply because there are so many brazilian players. Brazil is less than 1/20 of the global population, but i suspect is AT LEAST 20% of the total population in orsha. (to be honest, i think it’s more like 40%).

Our spoiled english-speaking players would hate on filipinos or thai players, or chinese players if they could find any. There just aren’t as many of them.

Further, your hostility towards me is not only baffling, it is misplaced. I haven’t made any negative comments, nor do I harbor any ill will towards Brazilians.

That doesn’t change the fact that you are wrong though. And your insistence on using the wrong term, as a dictionary will clearly show you, for the sake of… what exactly? is as King Sponge pointed out showing you to be just as close-minded as those you are railing against.

Now, language can of course evolve. If enough of a population begins referring to a sphere, as a cube, enough times, then that is what a cube will come to represent. But sphere exists as a word, so the question is still… why? What happens when I am referring to a cubical object, but you think I mean a round one, now that ‘cube’ means both?

It muddies the issue, and now the meaning, the concept that word represents is lost.

Well, “most receptive” can mean different things, like :
-Being open to new ideas and suggestions? (good)
-Being able to be mentally manipulated the most? (bad)
What do you mean in your case?
About that women-part : i beg to differ, i prefer others. But these kinds of things are highly subjective anyway :wink:

I’ve been trashtalked hundred times when i answered this question by “French here !”, if you could see that, it’s funny. International servor, ok, but there’s communities, and that’s wrong. I’m tired of being trash talked in BR. Atleast I can answer English people when they behave like d*cks :frowning:
Well, having BR is still better than 3hours silent grind party anyway :smiley:

All people tries to manipulate brs, but they don’t accept such a thing, thats why everyone complains.
Many guys here thinks owners of server to commands the people.
So before labeling a country by actions of less then 1% who lives there, just think about your country and how many bad guys lives there too.

I never said “All BRs are bad and anti-social players” or anything like that, quite the contrary:

My point was that probably there are no more bad BR players than players of other nationalities, however to non-BR players out of all the players who are actually behaving bad and are actually anti-social the bad and anti-social players from BR tend to stand out the most, due to annoying “jajajaja”-spam, annoying “BR?”-spam aswell as ignorant behaviour towards most non-BR players.

In short, maybe to make it more understandable:

  1. BR has probably the same amount of bad and anti-social players as any other country
  2. anti-social and bad players are annoying to normal players of all nations
  3. from the perspective of a non-BR player however, from all anti-social and bad players anti-social/bad BR players are the most annoying and the most anti-social, because of their spamming and ignorant behaviour.

Perhaps you belog to the people with poor knowledge who thinks in Brazil they talk spanish and their race is hispanic.
Now I see why people says BRs are most annoying. They weld together BRs and Spanish speakers.
Where is annoying someone ask “BR?” or press two keys saying “No” are too difficult for you?
If they tried to interact with you, this breaks your anti-social concept.
I really try to understand why some people worries about conversations that isn’t their business.

Of course jajaja-spam is not a BR-only action. However, at least in my experience, it’s the annoying BR players (note : not all BRs, only the annoying ones) who take the jajaja-spam to a whole new level (and yes, i asked where they were from), i haven’t seen annoying people of other nationalities taking hahahaha-spam to such a level.

Of course the question “BR?” itself is not annoying, don’t be silly.
However, if you read one of my posts above, i gave some examples where it can be annoying, really annoying, like:
-getting killstealed by a person, asking the person to please stop killstealing and geting “BR?” as answer
-players standing around in towns, wildly spamming “BR?” in hopes of some BR player starting a conversation with them, clogging up the public chat for everyone else

In addition to that, not every person knows what “BR?” means, would it be too difficult to actually write the question out?

Trying to communicate is by no means anti-social.
However, first asking “BR?” and then, if “No” is the answer, completely ignoring the person who was being asked is extremely impolite and anti-social.
Would a “ok” or “oh. thanks”, “thx”, “nvm” or something similar be too much to ask?

If i were to ask you “hi, where are you from?” and your answer is “i’m from france” and my reaction to that answer would be to ignore you and act as if you not existed at all, even ignore you if you then tried to continue the conversation (for example with “can i help you?”), and just walk off, how would you feel? I’m pretty sure you’d think that i’m a very rude person to completely ignore you, just because you told me that you are not BR.

I think the problem is that people forget this is a game and is meant to have fun, i am mexican, i’ve played ro, mabinogi, wakfu, and many more mmos, and every time i see a player complaining about someone who doesnt speak english or in some cases like wakfu french. I really feel sad because, we should be eager to learn new languages and new ways of thinking, and not impossing barriers, there are emoticons, pre-fixed dialogs in many mmos, so you can interact with people regardless of your level of english. But americans are so proud of their English heritage than they think everyone should learn their language, when a server is International, nobody should learn any language but you know you will find others, and you should do it with open arms. Think about mos eisley bar. everyone speaks diferent dialects and everyone is there, some fighting other spying and others trying to find a ship to run away. But everyone is cohabitating. Cheers, have fun, i would love to meet you in game, and speak to you in spanish english french português or anything and learn some new words in the process

jajaja is a typical spanish laungh not a BR. So this break you assumptions.
Chatting in a public channel is like speak with someone in the streets so if they didin’t talked to you there is no real annoying by the way unless you love hear people’s conversations outside the door.

How was said by josue all of you guys are “special” only others must put a effort to speak your language.

Anyway this is only a game where virtual culture is hate who don’t speak english.
This only show up how poor these people are.(In cultural context)

TL;DR

I believe that this isn’t about racism, but I dunno what I would call this either.

I do believe that is annoying when someone speaks in a language other than english when its specified that we are in a english speaking server.
BUT, since we are in a international server, I think that speaking english would be prefered, not mandatory.
The “English ver.” just means that the game is avaliable in another language besides Korean.

Brazilians usually get their own servers just for communication purposes.
Since we don’t speak spanish either, unlike almost every other country on SA.

Well, I can’t blame anyone for being biased torwards BRs, since it’s only natural to do so, it’s an irrational response that helps you in some ways.

I’m not used to forums with this “reply to this” thing, so sorry if should be posted altogether with my last one.

Nevertheless, Brazillians “not in denial” are definitely not scarce, just look up “mutt complex”. I’m BR and I used to be ashamed of other BR players for this so called obnoxious behavior truth is I’ve found much of the same toxic behavior on people who could not possibly be BR(would not make sense ping-wise). Last night I was ksed in tos for the first time, it was not a BR player, or if it was, it could def. speak english, and didn`t bother to ask me where I was from. Pretty much all other times were bots, I’m about lvl100 is all this annoyance ppl get only happening in higher lvl maps?

Anyway, is not that we are in denial, is just that the ones that agree with this, will simply look at the thread title, roll their eyes in shame and leave it be. Just right now, in my all chat there’s this conversation

is this proper behavior bc the guys exchanged 2 messages in PT ? given one of the messages had the word “mount” on it, so it was pretty obvious they were discussing game content? Or are you telling me they had it coming for speaking in “All” in PT ? I find WTS/WTB messages far more disturbing than any message I can’t read bc of language.
You might say this was one guy, but two other guys backed the guy up. If I only knew which country they come from to open a thread for them…
