Whats funny in grind 10 hours for day for get 1 lvl? pls we need more and more quest

This is an MMO, if you wanta no grind MMO go play any of the WoW clones that are hit max lvl in a month and then do what you want.

The game will have grind, also it sounds like you misused your exp cards so you’re hitting the ground wall.

Meanwhile many Japanese players hit level 200 in a few days!

Makes you wonder if you are doing something terribly wrong or just don’t know how to play the game. Personally I think leveling/grinding is fine.

The things is, looks like everyone that is borried about grinding in a game that are in test phase, were playing private ragnarok server just for WoE purposes.

Stop with that, we all know that this game needs a different mode of leveling, but grinding, killing a lot of the same monster is in the blood of every mmorpg (even from the beginning of tibia 'til the new ones mmorpgs).

We need more areas/channels and monsters to have a better grinding experience. But grinding is not the problem.

One level in ten hours? :expressionless:

I remember playing Florensia a long time ago and when you got to high levels it would take atleast a week or two just to gain one single level. Compared to that its not that bad, but I do wish there was more things or alternative leveling methods that could be grinded rather than just monsters all the time.

I think there should be an expansion system in ToS like the one in WoW.

Then go play one of the 9000 mmo’s where you can hit max level in a month? I kinda get sick of these threads when it’s people complaining about xp while its 3x xp lol

The majority of the community are the niche who actually do enjoy a grinding game and yet people feel the need to come here and post crap like this when there are literally 15+ other mmo’s that cater to the casual crowd coming out in the same time frame.

“Nexon has revealed some statistics of the first JP CBT, showing that most players are at level 1-85. Report says that most players level up pretty slowly and it may push Nexon to increase EXP gain in the game. As of class preference, according to the statistics, there’s no a highly popular class although the number of Wizards is a little bit higher than other classes.”

can you link the source of that?

I disagree there needs to be more quests, I’m more for the need of more content.

As it is, you do quests in an area, maybe grind a little and move on, this is repeated until you reach a map with easy aggro high mob density and a dungeon nearby. Maybe do a little pvp here and there.

That’s all there is to do.

We have very little right now in the way we can level and that’s pretty freaking garbage considering fighting inferior mobs isn’t fun, fighting superior mobs is like grinding your face down with a belt sander, bosses are few and far between, they’re also incredibly mediocre, even with lag I handle bosses easy enough, one solution would be to remove warnings every time they attack but that’s another story.

We need more things to do, so far all ToS is, is a skeleton, until you reach the fully formed head which is end game.

its funny because we are getting 3x MORE exp then we are supposed to becuase its beta xD

He think that everyone play ToS all day like thes guys on the report.

I was just sending the link to someone who asked for it, In my opinion I actually think something should be done to the current xp wall problem, I mean people now know that they should keep some exp cards to pass trought some bad xp zones but what about new players? are they screwed? should they reroll just because they didnt know that? or should they grind endless hours to lvl up? I played a lot and still stuck around 160 btw.

More quests = More content = Game Design

But to be honest i think that we’r not understanding the role concept behind the Tree of Savior. The man who created this game also created Ragnarok Online, the game that has its entire focus on grind. And all Asian games are known to be more time consuming. Maybe Kim Hakkyu did made a game very close to RO, but, the game never had many quests anyway. Tree of Savior, the way i see, was meant to revive the old times, not the new ones.

And old times = grind.

sorry, but old asians games are grinding based.
try check any new asian release and you can see how the game meta have changed.
we are in 2015, all the world. If the game forces you to grind, you ends up losing the focus.

hey man, CBT rate is x5. You should not play this game since OBT is 5 times lvl slower

Having a hard time grinding?

Those old bones not strong enough for the pole?

Your family doesn’t support your grinding?

Worry no more! Here at the shopping channel we offer you a very special, one of a kind, limited offer of EXP Boost 7 days!

What’s that? EXP Boost 7 days?

Yes folks, we all know that most asian MMOs are grind based. They make you cry, they make you pout but Santa Clause ain’t coming!

But here in shopping channel we offer you a the solution you need!

For only xxx (amount yet to be determined), we offer you EXP Boost 7 day! Hit those mobs and bash those bosses because apart from the loots we’ll be giving you tons and tons of EXP

  • me imagining TOS selling EXP boosting items in the future. Not game breaking but should be able to help players like the thread started who doesn’t have time to play all the time.

That’s a polemic subject, i think it’s time to throw so gas on the fire (even if some of you disagree please read all the text, it may be long but it might worth).

First let’s make some things clear.
• Most of people here don’t/won’t have more than 3~4 hours (that’s actually a lot) to spend every day in a MMO and that’s complety normal, we have jobs, families, duties, bills to pay, etc.
• Nobody wants jump straight to the max level.
• Nobody is complaining about being rewarded for playing the game (including grind).
• MMO’s are about adventures.
• ToS is not perfect, neighter complete.

Ok, now let’s move back to the grind x quest topic.

I don’t think is grinding for EXP is fun, honestly i love to gain more levels and feel/see like i’m growing inside the game, most of the old MMO’s were more about do repetitive actions to become more powerfull and that’s boring, this is also the reason why some (specially games with insane EXP charts) had a lot of bots (nobody likes them right?) - doing the same thing over and over makes you a robot, doing new and challenging things makes you grow (as a player and as a person).
If you consider that the current max level (at CBT) is 200 with a 3x rate the overall progress a player would make is about one half or one third of the time, the first player at Gabija took about 3 weeks to reach the max level without the max class level (there’s still more levels to get), meaning that it would take about 1 month and a half to 2 months to reach the cap with a single character (i don’t think most of the players will play only with a single character) and i’m talking about a player that already know how the game works, what to do, what to build and where/when go to a certain map (still i don’t know how many hours per day he played), it would take even more time then that to get at 200 even for a beta tester and that won’t be the max level at the release (which will go even higher in future updates).
I want to everyone here to remember that this is an endless growing game and if things keep like this we will be back to the dark ages were you need to spend at least one hour to get about 1% EXP, knowing that there’s a lot of levels ahead.

Having more quest will solve the problem? Hell no, no matter how many they are it will eventually end (still they help a little bit), There’s also another problem about quests - the difficulty and the reward, i don’t feel like there is any challenging quest right now (some boss fights are hard, but it’s not a challenge) and most of them are more of the same (kill some mob, interect with a map object, gather a quest monster drop, fight a quest boss) with a good to great prize for such an easy task (you don’t even have to go anywhere), i think we need more challenging quests over new default quests.

Unfortunately there’s no easy solution for a good way to improve the leveling experience, i really would like to see a better IA for mobs and bosses (a hate attack patterns, that’s something i was expecting to change with ToS) that would make you change yourfight style to different situations - monsters that can and will react properly and even fight as a team, at least i think that’s the best direction for a fun grind.

I’ld like to say one more last thing (feel free to pick torches and forks now, also if anyone prove me i’m wrong i’ll admit it), the old hardcore grinding was the easiest way to keep the players playing the game. First they keep spoiling you till you feel safe and comfortable while they place some more walls that you can keep up, then they suddenly place some huge walls at very end making you belive that you’re almost at the end - this is what kept us wasting countless hours. For most of you that keep saying that want ToS to be more like ‘that game’ i really want to to remind you that ‘that game’ had almost no content aside grinding.
