What (online game) will you never play again?

DDO
Agreed man.
I played it on the Closed Beta 6 months before it went free to play.
I was really hyped to play a D&D game with my friends online.
When it released it was dx9 (for Windows XP when Vista was already released) there is a shittie plugin that lets dx 10 enabled, which makes no diference at all.
Colorless game. Buggy walking and jumping.
P2W. I wanted to support the game and play post lvl 10 content (which are 90% cash or vip content) and i had to spend U$100,00 to buy the quests and stuff. When i hit lvl 20 i needed to buy a key or short to be able to unlock my paragon shittiness. Then i quitted.
Staff wont answer any question in the forums. No gms in game. Only old players who love the game so much that if you tell them a glitch or a bug they will block and report you.
Monster manual is incomplete after 6 released and you have to pay for it. Many quests incomplete and buggy.
Difficulty of the game is extremely hard, last time i went in on GH, i was doing a quest for lvl 13 Elite on a lvl 14 dwarf ranger/fighter dual baxes and at the start of the quest 3 lvl 20 monsters (ragash or something like that a lion-man creature) crit for 1k damage out of nowhere moonwalking the way only ddo does.
No visual remakes, no quest remakes, one new content per year (and you gotta buy it), i had a pc with 32mb video card at the game that could run the game. My calculator can run that game.
Xenophobic clans. If you are EU, you play with EU clans, if you are US player you will only play with US players, and BRs will only play with BRs. I went to the from to talk about it a staff replied me to find a br guild or find another server/game.
Monster AI will always hit you on your back, and you will be dancing the entire game trying to not get flanked by dogs/spider/small creatures-that-can-trip-you
Even with +50 saves you will always hit 1 on critical moments of the game.
Sometime you will find people leeching for loot and wont help at all.
Mercenaries are dumb and step on traps even tho they know there is some nearby.
ELITE TRAPS LVL 1 - Can hit over 200 (max hp i’ve seen on lvl 1 was 50)
at LVL 10 some hit over 1k
at lvl 20 i’ve seen some hitting over 10k.
Clerics and Rogues are a must to any party. You cant simply play with a party you want.
Core party : HEALER - TRAPPER - MAGE DPS - TANK - MELEE DPS <- you wont find anything different.

Mabinogi.
I had been playing it since G3 (about 8 years ago?) and I have seen the game slowly turn from a difficult and unique game where you were almost forced to sit down and converse with strangers because of how slow paced the game was when it came to moving from town to town, to a game with instant transportation and an impatient, condescending (and very horny) cash whore community.
It used to be you needed friends to back you up in engagements, when most of the time they were too preoccupied with their own fight to help you. Now you just spam pet abilities (bought with real money) and use new, overpowered abilities, ignoring old ones because they were too outdated. They also never bothered to fix any glitches, being Nexon and all. Glitches plagued the game for years, including invisible bandits that would show up when you commerce, and the ā€˜bouncing’ immediate retaliation when you hit a an enemy that has been knocked down too much. Old content is always pushed aside for new content, making it hard for new players to start, as well as making the world feel awkward. Flying mounts were implimented after a couple of years, and it allowed you to fly in the new areas that were introduced, BUT NOT THE OLD ONES. N+1 was a way to sneak in an extra hit with good timing, now it’s worthless.
Mabinogi was a huge part of my life. I’ve met the bestest friends from it, which I still regularly talk to today. However, game and the community was so bad, the last few years of the game felt like a single player experience.
Casually hanging out with female friends would often lead to other males challenging me to a duel to try to extend their e-peen, only to offer have a nasty remark offer of they win or lose. ā€œNoobā€ seemed to be thrown at me wither they won or lost. Lag seemed to be a greater threat to them than I was.
It -WAS- an amazing experience when there was an experience to be had. Nowadays it feels like a cash cow until it dries out and shuts down.
Sorry for the text dump. A lot of grievences with this game, as it was once my passion.

There are lots of MMORPG’s i would never touch again, but i believe the one game title that left such a great impression on me and then turned around and became a monstrous abomination that no longer resembled it’s former self was: ArcheAge.

That game experience was so damaging it’s not even funny anymore, no game was destined for true greatness like ArcheAge was, but in the end-- as always; greed and under-handed agendas ruined it.

I was really interested in this game when i first heard about it but as soon as i read up on it and auction house among other basic features were listed as premium account features i just laughed and never bothered trying it.

ā€œWhat (online game) will you never play again?ā€

I’m generally very open minded and try to remain as such, but there is 1 game/company in particular I vowed to stay away.

Diablo 3 or anything that comes from ActiBlizzard.
Heard its kinda doing better nowadays after years of painfully slow patches trying to inject into the game the soul it should have had from beginning.
The game and its company can still die and rot in hell for all I care. Shame as I wanted to play Legacy of the Void, will have to be content just watching the story unfold in youtube and wave a long last goodbye.

Strange to see so many complaints about LoL, I play DOTA1/2 for god knows how long and it is by far the worse community to ever exist, however the game excels in what it does to the point that playing LoL or watching HotS feel like something made for children in comparison, so I always have to dota, wich is my long time love/hate partner in crime =]

There should be more gamers creating/designing games, too much people in the bizz aiming for money.

Activision and Blizzard split up quite awhile ago, Blizzard is now an Indie company again.

It’s a bit confusing because of all the moving around they have done between divisions and their subsidiaries and holdings, but as of 2013, Blizzard Entertainment is now an independent studio not being connected to either Activision or Vivendi.

There is however the division Activision|Blizzard, but they are not Blizzard Entertainment anymore.

I know i know, it doesn’t make sense of paper, but that’s how it is. D:

Thanks, I didnt know that!

scratches head * …now have 2 companies to boycott, or should I stick with just Blizzard, dont even remember seeing Activision logo anywhere since the old days of Rock N’ Roll Racing

Despite how cash-grabby they are, I have to say… Blizzard’s games are really well-made.
(Enjoyable to actually play, to say)

Their games certainly have appeal and are very polished, but Blizzard being the giant that it is/was I expected greater/better things from them, and from Diablo 3 specially.

Wrong. Blame both renewal and iRO.
Renewal made the game be more like a botter paradise, turned obsolete the monsters loots and town equipments, removed the monsters uniqueness, made all players require cash to progress without getting bored of the game, and all you can do is grinding, or repetitive quests that have 2 hours of cooldown.

And iRO for trying to milk money from everything on the game, includding the pre-renewal server.

Edit: Forgot to answer the main thread.
I’d say Ragnarok Online 2: The Legend of the Second.
How dare they call it Ragnarok Online 2? It’s more like I want to be World of Warcraft mixed with ridiculous version of fearsome mvps as quest monsters.

Tree of Savior

-Not able to solo
-P2W
-No able to kill one boss more times

You can actually buy premuim points thru gold. Since credits can be traded. So the auction house thing is not really a big deal.

The real problem was. Botters / exploits (duping of that said credit) / gold sellers / glitches on dungeons. And this all happen even only less than 2 months after release.

But to be fair. The game itself WAS good. Below are something I found entertaining.

  1. Jury system (you got to be one of them judges to make some thug guilty or innocent)
  2. Ships. Yes can have a sailboat or even a warship
  3. Commerce profession. (Make something from town A > trade it to town B.)
  4. You can own a land (premuim accounts). Make it into a farm or even build a mini castle.
  5. Most of the stuff you do in-games gives exp. Milking your cow? Here have some exp. Butcher your chicken? Exp gained!

And so on. Nuff said

All the THPS games are activision, and as a huge fan of psx, many greatest hits of the psx era are actvision…
They arent bad, but they are more like ā€œarcadeā€ just fun for the moment with a friends and then let it go.
Nothing like hardcore gamers would spend gazillion hours playing like some jrpgs or fps.
Actvision targets (IMO) casual players.

I run through my ā€˜cerebral databank’ searching for ā€˜THPS games’ and got to the conclusion I was officially a noob

Google showed me it means Tony Hawk’s’ Pro Skater (right?), well it was never my thing but my brother did spend bazillion hours at it, he had to earn each tag/title that existed in the games.

Altough I can relate Diablo3 to casual players in a heartbeat, will probably save my hate for Blizzard, gonna place Activision in a ā€˜only after careful consideration’ tab.

LoL / Dota (mobas bores me)
Tera (good pve / bad pvp)
RO2 (worst game ever)
Archeage (trion sux, P2W)

Then what are you doing here? MMOs are mean’t to be played with other players.

@Nakano15
Chill, mate.
He has his reasons and no matter what he says, he will be right. (because… they’re his reasons)

No need to get all riled up.
This thread oughta be used to toss out some of yer frustrations without resorting to arguments.

Blizzard is one of the few companies i keep going back to when i get bored of other games, what do you have against them exactly?

D3 is also much, much better than it was at launch, i put the game down within a month when it launched, but since the expansion and all the new goodies like endless difficulty scaling greater rifts, and an improved cube from D2, i’ve been playing each season.

I feel like they are ruining all there franchises.

Warcraft 3 ruined that for me

WoW got worse and worse after crusades

Diablo 1/2 i heard lots of great things about but 3 was my first experience with it and it was aweful

And SC is the only blizzard game i still play and i wouldn’t be surprised if they ā– ā– ā– ā–  that up 2.

To me personally, Diablo 3 is the greatest example of what not to do, devs with brilliant lame ideas that kept screwing a game wich had everything to succeed. Even before beta it didnt matter how much countering, they simply would stick to it, was like watching a horrific cross-breed between spoiled children and… and… whatever creature that cant figure out what works from what doesn’t.

As to Blizzard other games, my opinions are a mix between my (short) experience playing those and what I generally see going around:

WoW - Admittedly, the artstyle and Warcraft lore/setting for a MMO was never my thing, the game looks like it was good though, but like everything it has to die out, can’t blame them for squeezing every penny out of the die hard fans.

HearthStone - Again not my thing, seems like a time sinker money grabber that requires a zillion hours before it gets decent (it being the point where you have most/all cards, so playing becomes fun instead of a chore).

HotS - I play Dota2 so this one for me feels like MOBA simplified for casuals. Yes I could be biased, but the lack of itemization for once points I’m not

Warcraft/Starcraft - Those were my love together with Diablo, unfortunately the genre has degenerated to a niche targeted towards asians/koreans who can multitask indefinitely, Blizzard didn’t seem to care or able to make any tweak/balance change for remeding that at some extent, so to each their own. Custom maps in SC2 are fewer and few are good, I havent looked deep into why but AFAIK its because Blizzard made the process difficult.
