1025 base EVA or plus guardian attribute ?
Still it was a DPS non-pelt swordie, most of us wouldnāt even dream of reaching 5F, or even passing 1F with a non-pelt swordie.
Their party compo was like :
2 Wiz
CC (Cryo-Chrono)
DPS (Cookie cutter elememelock)
2 Clerics
With guardian

To be fair, ET is an issue for most classes due to its more extreme conditions, and frankly without barrier scroll even less groups would be able to do it.
And ironically, Swordsman having highest base AoE attack ratio is the LEAST effective in AoE because other classes either have no cap on their AoE skill (SR retreat shot) or have higher default AoEAR than Swordsman with all AoEAR gear (Frost Cloud have 15)

Flanconnade is the only block that takes priority.
In very other instance Dodge takes priority.
Be careful generalizing though, one thing is Fencer and their Evasion bonus, another thing is how āgoodā other type of swordies perform with DEX, and a different story is ET.
Swordmen can perform good on ET, but everyone wants to follow the same roster that some groupsāve been running there. I will say, as a doppel, that iād do more dps on ET with a good support Thaumaturge3 Linker2 than an extra āclericā on my group.
The best swordsman always face roll in front of boss.

at 280 a full DEX build itās not only 279 DEX points, forgot the bonus points so 279 Invested DEX itās actually is 363 DEX soā¦
363+74+120+194=751 a whole 120 more crit soo
(751-120)x42/280=94,65%
Another thing some weapows that 3 slots. like this one. dunno if we have more of then yet.
So we could add more 97, kinda pointless with already 94% Critical chance agains 120 crit res. Or maybe u need not to put 97 points in dex and add then to STR. If you are Hoplite you can shave more of the DEX proportinal to your finestra lvl.
But that is if you have a whole lots of money to actually create those āImpossibleā like gems at this point of the game.
ps: 279+74+120+194=667 not 633 even if its was just 279 that DEX give to crit.

Two-Handed Weapons that arenāt Bows, so Swords/Spears/Muskets, have 3 slots in average with a few exeptions aside.

The lunge evasion bonus only lasts like 4 seconds out of 15 seconds. Otherwise, cata would actually have more of an evasion bonus (especially with hoglan).
tbh main reason i put str is for block penetration for PvP.
I still recommend building your swordie however you want.
The evasion and accuracy that DEX provides should not be ignored.
Again my point here was that using it as a damage source is actually really difficult for a swordieā¦
And be comes less and less viable as the game progresses
For raw damage u can go full str or high str. But for pvp this is suicide becuz u cant hit other swordies and archers while they can hit u.
Okay, for oneā¦ That video needs a disclaimer that this is only possible if you are a Fencer. Thatās Why Dex works for him. No other class gets access to Evasion/Block boosts.
And the end of that videos proves that face tanking isnāt the smoothest idea. Also, the reduction of magic def/awakening bonuses from using Glad bands will kill you
Nice video. You really showed how good a high DEX character by showing us how you fight a boss who has the SAME level as you and someone who spam dodgeable physical attacks. So thatās what youāre talking about game fights and mechanics.

Fencer literally only has two skills with a evasion increase and one is on a 19s CD the other is on 25s both only last 4sā¦
And magic DEF literally does nothing so that point is invalidā¦
Magic DEF is subtracted from magic dmg just like regular def from physical dmgā¦
i.e it dosent do much xDā¦
Thats why its better to out right dodge or block the hit rather then to take it and expect your DEF to do the work.
Except, again, magic Def is not a flat reduction vs monsters. If an extra 80~ magic def lets you survive one more hit, itās worth it. P.S. You canāt block, or dodge, actual magic. Which every mage monster past 200 does with their autoā¦
Only two evasion skills, but two block skills that can force a block even when you wear a dagger. Timing their use letās you do things no other sword class can. One, which has zero cooldown, and the other can be alternated with your evade skills cooldowns.

In theory, it does become less viable, if the equipment progress is in a linear level. We will have to wait and see what the devs have planned for the future.
Previously I did think about a High Str swordie, since calculations showed me that actual dodge rate would be hard to stack; but this video put part of my problems at ease. Gonna calculate now how much I can sacrifice in DPS to get a least 50% Dodge rate
