We badly need an official statement regarding what the VAC Covers IMC

If certain addons are really popular why can’t IMC just incorporate these into the games or create similar options with a toggle in the settings menu?

That way you can have your addons without getting banned as well as it’s seamlessly inside the game.

2 of these addons are just substitutes for really bad interface/translation in the first place. The monster exp card tracker in-game is buried, slow, and just awful in general. The map completion mod just clears up what you haven’t visited yet, since it’s often basically invisible with the current system.

exp viewer was ok, from old threads where staff said so.
map dont know and Quest one i heard is 3rd party(not allowed)

Exp viewer is basically useless if you’re even slightly good at math though, so I have no interest in it. I actually prefer to not have it.

Yeah that BetterQuest is a definite mod, not gonna use it until IMC clearly states their stand on that along with the map/fog viewer.

@iThinkiWin Nice explanation there well thought out
Though if I may ask, do you think EXP Viewer / Fog viewer counts as reading memory? Because technically it reads the EXP that you gain and Fog viewer reads your general progress of the map that you are currently in. Furthermore, a fresh mod was released called “BetterQuest” wherein it allows you to view whether you have missed a quest or not by making all possible quests that you can take be put in the quest list thus, showing the flags of the NPCs associated with the quest in the map.

I’m having doubts whether I can consider that as reading from memory or not ._.

any response from mods/staffs about add-on we can use??

  • exp viewer / fog viewer / monster count << these 3 packs together in 1 installations
  • Quest, Hidden NPC viewer << I haven’t try this yet.

Still nothing? We do need an answer.

They should just add exp viewer to the client and done.

@STAFF_John @Staff_Julie
Any official response from IMC please? D:

i only use the Addon of Monster killing count and mapviewer because:

i think the monster killing count should have been at least an option to be activated that if you like the game counts how many monsters you killed. because the game dont tell you if you killed the amount of monster needed and even the amount killed isnt tracked inmediately you have to wait until the server update the killing count. that mean Opening the Journal, and keep pressing “search” until the count its updated.

mapviewer well, before i used that mod i wasnt certainly why i didnt get 100% of the map when i have explored everything, the problem its how the map counts such % of exploration the borders of the map i mean those black outlines, if map % would count only the beige zone of the map, then this wouldnt be a problem and that mean map % counting need a rework.

But seriously IMC we need an answer

I think any kinds of alterations of client should be forbidden, including mods. Otherwise it opens extra possibilities for botters and hackers to abuse it.

If people want XP display, kill count and other stuff, they should ask IMC to implement it.

I’d like that if only IMC responds fast to our inquiry ._.

I would actually like it if IMC adds those useful add-ons/mods as an official part of the steam workshop

That way, it’s totally legit and no problems will rise upon it.

Because forbidding things totally stops those two groups of people.

I wonder why staff is not responding…

UPDATE BELOW! :mushroom: chars

This is not an update, we know that exp viewer is allowed, we are asking about better quest mod and monster counter and red map mods. And that quote was taken before VAC was put into place.

Well from what I understand, as long as the thing is considered an “add-on” and is part of the addons folder then it is not a mod and it’s legit.

As for betterquest, it’s a mod because I sincerely think it can be considered as what they mentioned as “excessive datamining” and directly tampers with the game’s data files through a method that prevents the launcher from overwriting the file that enables it.

If betterquest was to be turned into an addon the maybe it has a chance of being legit

They really should make use of Steam workshop for addons.
Then they can explicitely allow and disallow addons for everyone.

my only concern at least for myself its about expviewer (plus monsterkillingcount and mapexplorer) since i dont use betterquest i like to talk every NPC since that also adds to your journal of NPC meet.

and we also want to know about that if their stand is still the same about such addon because the VAC thing. they already said its fine but we still want to know if they still think the same about the addon expviewer (and the monsterkilling count and mapexplorer)

I’d like to know their stance on BetterQuest myself but I doubt we’d be getting a definitive answer anytime soon ._.
