⚠ Skills that need to be charged first suck in the game's current state (plus some pre/post-cast lag on non-charging skills)

Issue description: For a skill that requires charging/channeling like the Archer’s Multishot, sometimes the charge bar is already full or at max but the skill level numbers above are still rolling about halfway the max level or less. Releasing it immediately (relying on the charge bar) will result in the skill effect/damage being not fully charged at all. Apparently, it relies on the delayed slow-rolling skill level numbers, not the charge bar yet the charge bar is the true measure of casting/charging time.


I’m not that good w/ all these server-side/client-side lag or sync issues and stuff but one thing I’m sure of is that I usually get at most 0.14xxxx ping when in a ch1 city and even less than that usually (0.05 at one time).

I started noticing the issue w/ my first char, an Archer C3 with Multishot 15 being the core skill. It has a quick-cast attribute that seems to work depending on what channel and map you are.

More than half of the time, it just doesn’t and I’m forced to switch to a different channel. While that works as a temporary solution, it’s not possible to do so in dungeons so I’m stuck with a mediocre charging time on top of a chance of it getting cancelled when attacked by an enemy, I might as well just auto-attack.

Even with that, I managed to get my main to 200 and have started on my alt - a 120-ish Cataphract.

Earthwave - such an awesome AOE elemental skill for a melee class, but too bad it suffers the same fate as Multishot and other charged skills.

I’m now thinkin of rolling a Fletcher until they fix this skill charging issue, though some say even Fletcher skills doesn’t really have that spammable feel maybe due to the same thing that affects charged skills, maybe just the skill animation, maybe reliance on ASPD, maybe by default design.

I never thought I’d develop some hate for this game as I’ve been supporting it since the iCBTs. I loved it, and I still want to love it.

Hope IMC acts on this issue ASAP.

Fletcher suffers from delay that all skills that use items have sometimes. Also related to server’s retarded response times. So if you notice NPC delayed response or delayed looting - most likely your Fletcher experience will be a pain.

Yes, and the delay is a common thing even when ping is not high. So I do suffer with my Fletcher, specially when you don’t cast your skill for some random reason and you get stuck on its animation for 2~4 seconds, getting beaten by mobs. The delay is way too big for various reasons, while similar skills of other classes aren’t. This might be a game-killer as I got this even with 0.0433 ping.

Your experience will indeed be a pain, as @nizidr said. There is no escape from it, basically.

It is indeed a pain, and it’s becoming really annoying I’m starting to feel bored for the game - and that’s coming from a guy who likes to complete quests and appreciate every map’s design. :frowning:

Having the same issue…pretty annoying when your skills dont work like they are supposed to. Other skills are bugged for the better and i guess ours for the worst :confused: anywho ive only been having this problem since last night before then it has always worked the way it is supposed to.

Its not the skills that are bugged, its server responses that are delayed or missing at all.

channel switching wont help cause you are still on the same server.
however if you change the zone and thus change the servers skills work just fine.
this is not a solution we can use, its not a solution at all, its the showcase of the rootcause.

As I said in another topic I posted.

"What it seems to me is that they put a bad mechanic for item-based skills, specially projectiles like Fletchers have. What really seems to make us stop walking (and freezing a lot of times) is the fact that we use items, and that makes it a no for many players who’d rather go full Quarrel Shooter and dela damage by Autoattacking like hell.

A little update: This seems to have been fixed after the last maintenance, hopefully for good and not just temporarily.

We made the decision to allow all players to play in the “Telsiai Server” due to sufficient server capacity.

It appears they’ve invested in some server upgrades, if not fixed what has been causing this delay issues.

Still going strong and firm on Klaipeda, Silute and Orsha, according to all my contacts. Fletcher, for example, still freezes, bugs or locks animation.

Sometime last Sunday (May 29) this issue seems to have returned and remained unresolved up to the present.

It may hopefully go away after the maintenance today but probably just temporarily as it could return again once online population starts to rise again.

This is a very important and urgent concern as it affects most if not all classes with core skills that requires to be charged.
