I believe that player/community input should always be held in high regard and the company should grow alongside its players as the downfall of most MMO’s are caused when devs ignore the player base at large

This is not for the current decision. We know IMC will not rollback at this point. But what about the next hack?

It’s for the next hack. We know the current decision cannot be changed. But at least IMC can now build the infrastructure so that they can rollback.
Otherwise when the next hack happens, no rollback again.
Problem is that the “rollback” isnt just from past saturday… they are digging deeper than that… how much deeper??? idk, but deep enough as of a 1-2 weeks at the very least… am currently blocked due to sales before the hackaton(i believe that at least), and a guildmate was perma banned due to things he posted on market before the hackaton, so yeah, i would 100% would not like a rollback of weeks, and a rollback from the “announcement” of hackaton isnt going to solve much…

If you agree rollback is good, please vote accordingly. We can only strive for the best case. It’s better than never rollback even when the hack is discovered in 1 day.
If it’s rollback nobody will get banned because nobody gained any advantage.
Except the hackers’ accounts I guess.
My guess is over 50% of the long-term active players are exploiters. IMC can’t really ban them all because it literally destroys the player base.
In my server (NA) 3 of the top 5 TBL rankers are in Crevex market dump for exploiters. They are also big TP costumers for letica and godness cubes.
After all, how do you expect MMO players to hold high moral standards? Some of them are grade schoolers, while others are ppl who put forwards drama in guild, forum, shout all the time. MMO players are generally a good mix of jerks and kids, with a few sane and moral leaders.
But that’s off topic.
Am not for a “rollback” as in general, but i am for it WHEN as soon as they discover the exploit…
I voted “no rollback” due to lack of specifics tho…
In this particular case i believe the exploit was discovered late, and a rollback would mean weeks if not more…
As i said before, theres baned and blocked users that didnt participate during the supposed 3-4 days of the hackaton (myself and a friend included), so that only says to me that it was “exploited” way before those 3-4 days ppl say…
Being a white knight of iToS, i kinda understand whats happening, only recently they started to monitor things in market properly, so maybe in the future things like this can be dealt better… just maybe…

This is a pointless endeavor. They already missed the best chance to roll back. Doing it now would cause too much trouble. They decided to do it manually cause they didn’t have the balls to do it when it needed to be done. Doing it after taking the manual path then bring back up servers for people to progress and put market chaos behind them only for days later to do a roll back is way too much at this point.
The solution they went with is a crappy one because there is too much room for error and they absolutely will not resolve it because some people who abused the chaos will get away with it.
-They missed the best chance they should have shut down the servers the moment it got reported. Weekend so no one at work? It also means no one has passion enough for the game to go to shut down servers before things got way out of hand.
-After going into maintenance and finding and patching whatever flawed code in their system they should have rolled back to 2 or 3 days. Compensate players and apologize. After which they review the backup that had the market chaos on a test server to find everyone who abused it then systemically ban them while they bring back up the game that was rolled back to a few days.
-IMC shows that it rewards cheaters more than people who are willing to stay the right path and do the right thing. Next time something like this happens guess which side dark side vs light side who will have more people standing on it. If every major incident dark side gets rewarded. At the end of the day they won’t ban the side that has the vast majority of their player-base.
Honestly I am disappointed came back to the game to see improvements then this.
At the cheats. It is one thing to cheat in a game you enjoy playing. It is a whole another thing to kill it. After it is gone what your left with is a empty void trying to fill with other games. An they sure were some brain dead retards without any ability to reason. They cheated and made it so damn obvious because they wanted to feel like gods asap.
As i said before… that would be the best solution IF the “hack” actually started in that day…
If it really just started that day, then i think its a perfect solution…
BUT, i think it started way back, and just exploded that day…
Either way theres no info regarding when exactly started, only thing i can offer is that theres ppl banned and blocked for stuffs before the “hack”, so i assume it started before the day it exploded…

While true “that” day was when things went out of hand and that is where should be focused on first. Then check previous backup. But I think that would be mostly pointless. Up until “that day” if they were doing it before then they were doing it smart enough to not be noticed
They won’t roll back either on a next event like this unless it is ten folds worst. This was pretty bad and they had no intention to go the roll back route. Then what event could convince them otherwise? Something must be holding them back from doing so. An I 100% doubt any statement of they have no tools for it. I

If they didn’t do it this time, we will show our opinions so that they know what we want. Saying “we don’t want it because IMC didn’t do it” is BS.
If they won’t do it, we will show a strong stance so that they will. Saying “we don’t want it because IMC won’t do it” is also BS.
If they aren’t capable of doing it, we should tell them to start coding for it. Saying “we don’t want it because IMC can’t do it” is super BS.
In fact, saying “we want/don’t want it because IMC XXX” doesn’t make sense at all. It’s about us and what we want. So stop btching about how bad IMC is here. There are other places for it.

Voting also says that we all are full aware that another major disaster is going to happen with this game. Might has well vote on them rewriting their entire code cause it is really broken. I once played a game that developers had the bright idea of putting a code that anyone can type and it makes every player GM. Came is no more it had a lot of flawed coding but IMC takes the cake.
My Stance is for rollback for things like these though.

Pretty sure hook64 still works, so another issue is inevitable. FYI the exploit was available for at least a week but it exploded on that particular day.
I just wanna ask IMC about rollback function in the game, do we have it or not??? You just don’t want to do it or you can not do it?
Another question, about our player database, what do you use for??? Excel, Microsoft Access or something?
Manual revert is better. Rollback punishes everyone, even those who has nothing to do with the incident at all.
And polls here don’t reflect the consensus of the ToS community at large. A majority of the players don’t even visit the site nor even spare a couple of minutes reading this thread.
