Seriously though guys:
Need opinions though - which one is better for PVP?
Option 1:
Sword 3 > Hop 2 > Doppel > Dragoon 2
OR
Option 2:
Sword 3 > Hop 2 > Corsair > Dragoon 2
Iām worried that option 2 doesnāt have a lot of attacking skills to useā¦
Not going Rodelero
IMHO, I cannot imagine DGoon2 without the mobility of Cata3.
Can you tell us your reason for picking Hop2? Iāve noticed that Hop is usually picked for PVE builds but rarely for PVP.
Long Stride + Corsairās Hook has some synergy though.
If you can create a separate thread/topic for this, youāll have better feedback from others.
For Finestraās 100 crit and Spear Lunge, goes very well with Dragoonās Serpentine and pierce skills.
Main reason is 100 crit from Finestra. Allows me to put points elsewhere instead of close to all DEX
i dont think sword3 work with footman at all.
the chance of getting close are basically 0 on ur own. you would be at mercy of ur team mate being good or opponent being bad. this make restrain almost useless, unless u r just getting it for concentrate.
if focus on hop3 spear throw and dethrone, it should be possible to play like archer and eliminate the need for speed. However i find that doubtful, because dethrone aiming is quite limited unlike archer (only 8 directions, instead of lock on like archer, and spear throw is also slow). I think this just make footman into an inferior archer.
so the other route is shieldā¦ but better off as that big helmet class. going to need high con to benefit the shield, but then u lack the dex to hit targets, and lack the speed to continue to try to land more hits.
i think all footman pvp future still look terrible. Only hope i think is fencer, with their fast gap closer that can crit for over 30k in pvp (but i think against full con magic class, they wont even crit often, however i think some crazy gear might be able to overcome this? dunno).
The idea is to Hook from a distance then Dethrone, because Dethrone has big range.
i know, but u must land it in 8 angles and thats it. Unless point blank. So must have spear throw as back up.
if anything, it might be easier to land dethrone first to bind (assuming bind is 100% and no PD being mean), then hook.
Straight line hooks arenāt too hard to land. I usually do those with my squire
Cata 3 dgoon2 imo. For maximun kiting.

Yeah to be honest, Iāll probably play it safe with the meta Cata 3 Goon 2. Havenāt heard any successful stories of unmounted Dragoons.
Donāt want to risk another reroll, I simply donāt have the time to do that anymore.
Still decided with Dragoon over Lancer. Lancerās skills are only useful in PVP and bring very little to PVE. Dragoon on the other hand, can Serpentine + Dethrone for PVE to bring in the damage, much more useful all round. Even if thereās a nerf incoming for Dethrone, it wonāt be at the level of making the skill completely useless otherwise too many Dragoons will complain. Theyāll probably tone it down at Dragoon c3 though to balance it out.

I think the problem with the Serp debuff is you have to land the skill first which is already very tricky to successfully execute in a 5v5 scenario. Maybe when the enemy team gets MFāed then you get to debuff more than 1. Itās a staple in PVE though.
Dethrone is no doubt a really good ranged burst, but it should be used with caution. Also, a skill unable to be used is a skill wasted for that duration (eg. when enemy team has Ausrine or R7F, or a combination of both) considering it only has 16s CD which supposedly makes it kinda spammable. Iām not sure if the bind effect is blocked by bloodlet or if it will proc freeze when attacking cryos on shield.
As with any TBL match, itās going to be situational for either Lancer & Goon2. If the enemy team has no counter to Dethrone, Goon2 will probably have an easier time. If the Lancerās team provides enough support to keep him alive while he goes in, it could setup the whole team for a nice play and break the enemy teamās zone.
Iām excited for what these 2 will bring to the table here in iTOS and how it will change the meta for TBL 5v5.
