UPDATED Hair Accessory Enchantment Odds and Prices

One would think a meme would underline the joke, apparently not …

Let’s try again =)

Don’t mind me, just supporting someone who actually contributes rather than get triggered at one word

Updated to more than 7 times as likely lol thanks!

I wasn’t responding to your post directly. It was more of a broad statement from the frustration of reading all the bad press that is based on these borderline meaningless scrolls. I really hope there are a ton of people who buy into it and give the developers more money so we can get more fleshed out balance patches, content, and new areas.

If I came off as abrasive, I apologize.

I was actually thinking of programming a quick widget or python program that would calculate your odds of getting a perfectly stated item. You did the math for me, so now it’s largely unnecessary lol.

No harm no foul sir, thank you for the reply!

Actually if you could, that would be phenomenal o.o In the post I only gave a couple examples, like PATK or HP etc, but each stat has it’s own range of values, so a widget would actually make everything much easier on the user.

Currently they’ll have to determine the stat they want, if they really are concerned with 1, 2, or 3 stats, and they can find the values for a perfect roll using the formula…

But, if they only want a “high” roll (i.e. PATK at, say, 38 or higher) they’ll have to do their own additional math to get a result. And for every stat I haven’t listed the possible value ranges on, or the odds, they’d have to do that themselves too o.o

If you made a widget that just had all the odds built in, then they could select a radio of “1” “2” or “3” stats, select the stats they want from a list, and then maybe allow them the option to select their minimum-allowable stat value they’d be comfortable with…

It’d be a lot better than just having the math in some random and buried forum post lol Infinitely so. Hell I’d use it just to save time because trying to find the math for each combination of stats and acceptable values is a lengthy process to repeat for each stat set I may consider lol If you do, throw me a link and I’ll update the thread with your program at the top of the page in the tl;dr with credits and a link to your forum post that you list it on.

Sorry, I just have to say it. Anyone calling the effects of the headgear enchants meaningless lacks a clear understanding of the game mechanics.

Sure, they’re not meaningless, IF you get your perfect rolls, for the majority of people, unless they get extremely lucky or actually have a ton of money to just waste on them, the stats obtained randomly wont affect things as much as you think.

You don’t need perfect rolls to get stats that are meaningful. Also I’m not thinking/theorycrafting, I’ve used plenty of enchant scrolls in kToS and have seen what is commonly available on the market.

What was the drop rate on them? They dropped in game along with those golden anvils right? Or am I remembering the patch wrong. The scrolls I mean.

Them being scrolls? Some players reported that they have got a grand total of 1 (one) scroll out of 300+ opened boss cubes. So i’ll assume they drop from those with ~1% chance or less. Add to that that number of dungeon runs per day is limited and hunting world bosses is all about random when many players participate.

Golden anvils drop from normal monsters near your character’s level at quite a low chance.

Well either they’ve have some really bad luck or that drop rates a little extreme…

Are Lv280s getting at least one AoE ratio hat from self drops? Cause I feel like in that big grind I’ve killed off a gillion bosses so I should have gotten myself a ratio hat at least.

I’ll do maybe 3-4 dungeons a day probably. And 280 is going to take me probably 3 months. So out of the couple scrolls I get what are my chances of getting a ratio hat? Cause if it’s basically zero that’s bad… If it’s 50/50 I’m not sure I care as much since I’ll always have my hat and I can pass it around my characters.

I mean no one said it’s not from low level dungeons… Cause I’ll probably farm Arde daggers solo real quick daily. And then have my normal dungeons as well. And at some point I’ll have alts… That’ill probably do a few quick arde runs each day as well.

Dungeon runs limit is shared between dungeons. If you do Arde runs you wont be able to run high level ones for exp.

~6% on average per scroll (~3% per awakened stat on headgear).

@Raspy
If I remember correctly scroll drop rate is 0.01%. Maybe it was changed, but 1 scroll from 300 boxes is REALLY good.

But they were given out through the events.

Well yeah… then that’s pretty crap… Assuming that 1 in 300 holds true.
Grab the pitch forks then… Carry on.

Here’s the conundrum then… If it’s practically impossible to get the ‘perfect’ stats you want for a piece of gear using magic scrolls. Then why buy magic scrolls at all?

The answer is because they provide an advantage. Some may argue that it’s not a big advantage but it sets up a troubling precedent where “money = more stats and power”. If imc were ever to hit dire straights, I suspect the lure of selling just a few more stats for money might become irresistible.

At least they still have reserve of enabling these or similar scrolls for class costume, armband and haircut.

Well… honestly AoE ratio in particular is a must. You kind of need that. It’s still debatable I suppose on how unobtainable it is to get one of those hats.

One could argue that if you have a barracks full of characters and you’re doing speed runs daily on each of them you could farm up a hat givin enough time.

But honestly is anyone going to do that when you could just pay the equivalent of an hour or two of RL work instead of months of daily dungeons in game. Part of the deal for balanced F2P is even if the cash shop sells something that is power it’s out of convenience. But in this case. The scale is too much. It’s months of dungeons verse a few hours worth of money. And at that point you may as well call it P2W.

We already pay for tokens monthly. And that’s fair… It’s a necessary evil to make sure IMC has the money to keep building content. But something like this… On that scale that’s P2W territory. And that’s no good for IMC’s brand… People are going to build up a resentment over something like this. And that’s not good for business.

I’ll start work on it later tonight. No ETA though.

Well, you can only have 5 characters

It would also instantly kill their game.

Anyway, here’s hoping they get a clue and forgo these stupid shop items. This title could have been one of the biggest kMMOs in NA since RO if they had policed their store / targeted their demographics better.
