hmm gonna walk away from this one 100% sure this is bait.
Yes because recommending changes for prevention of the current and even bigger upcoming flood of bots is clearly a bait topic.
Anyway move on, nobody will miss you if you donât have anything to add.
Played Phantasy Star Online 2, free players wasnât able to trade with anyone, and COULDNT SELL anything in the market, they were only able to buy items from the market.
Yet the game was fine (atleast back when i used to play it)
There are functioning systems out there, some people are just used to the easy way.
However i do think recently looted items should be tradable for 2 hours or so.
âIMC is gonna open up trading, this was posted like 20 minutes agoâ - can you give a link for this?
Iâve checked latest announcements and canât find it.
Actually that is not true. Free PSO2 players can sell their stuffs on the market. To do that, you will need to have Shop Use tickets/passes which can be obtained from FUN scratch, which requires FUN points, which can be obtained by simply logging in daily, sending 10 âgood jobâ messages to friends, doing quests together with friends, etc.
PSO2 has limitations/restrictions, but not too much that they pisses players off.
The exact spot is:
We are planning on allowing Non-Token users to partake in 1:1 trading. However, we are not yet certain how we will implement this new system. More details will be released as soon as they have been decided upon.
^ And this is why you have a swarm of bots going in prep for this news. The 20 minutes ago reference is in related to the bot video, not the news announcement.
Totally forgot about the fun scratch rng, but yeah, in tos we can actually get tokens from market, itâs pretty much.
unreliable luck"maybe ill get to use market if im lucky"
VS
consistent premiumship through some work earning the silver.
Free players here seems to not care about the RMT issue, they are pretty much going âi dont care what bots does aslong as i can do what i wantâ
//Ofcourse not everyone thinks like this but yeah.
Still, nothing stops the bots from buying the tokens though.
So there is no relation. This announcement was 3 days ago. I was at that location yesterday - it was free of bots (well maybe 5 of them on loc, not as in video).
It is more likely they created new accs after banned or something like that, not because of announcement.
Well the first defense that IMC should have had was bot/ macro botting detecting system, meaning like a game guard of some sort or even a capcha system (doesnât exist atm)
That doesnât exist atm so that lets bots just flood in and weâre not even F2P. IMC made it not worthwhile to engage in passing silver through players through the restriction of trading. Now, the people doing RMT turns its attention to the market which fcks everyone else. You lost me at people whining because friends canât provide them âhandoutsâ. For one, let me remind you that the mast majority of people playing have played Ragnarok Online in which trading has become such a staple part of the game (and yes, scamming of course.) This leads me to another point; that is weâre much closer to the game RO than we are to Black Desert or whatever MMO that restricts trading. We have a very similar drop rates I believe to RO which affects the item market, similar ways of obtaining equipment, etc. On the other hand, Black Desert and other MMOs got a lot of other things to do such as fishing, raiding, town defense, etc. which we really donât have. If itâs a game like letâs say Blade and Soul which the items are really obtainable easily and is appropriate to your level, then maybe Iâll be on trade restriction. But just no. We also donât have quests that allow us to craft a massive variety of headgears, special potions, etc like other games and RO specifically. The market manager is only added to alleviate that massive people opening their own shops in town (which I have a problem because itâs exploitable af unlike the old school) and acts as a massive silver sink but other than that, itâs just so similar that taking away trading is essentially making it lose a lot of player base.
Could always just play Ro, if its Ro you want.
Another ignorant reply, but okay. Thank you though, enjoying the game myself on the higher levels minus the trade. Itâs not just about me and itâs RO, you silly.
Lemme tell you how much GG helped BnS, oh wait, it didnât. Their game is COMPLETELY INFESTED, the market is OWNED completely by bots.
So⌠lets talk about ignorant repliesâŚ
If anything this is a prime example of the direction NOT to go.
And you think Roâs been successful?
(in terms of handling RMT)
I donât think he/sheâs referring to the software Game Guard itself, and even if he/she is, he/she is just giving an example of such a system that protects against bots, which he/she explicitly mentioned doesnât exist.
Thatâs beside the point. Lol. The fact of the matter is that obtaining gears and progressing with it in BnS is easily handed. Itâs like handing over a +10 weapon appropriate to your level throughout the game. Oh well, Iâm done here. Iâm not sure if utterly special or someone whoâs living in their own world. I should have not replied when I first read what you had to say. Wasted my time here clearly.
Ok, out of fairness I wonât dismiss software base solutions as a possible alternative, but realisticly. Lets weigh pros and cons.
Pros -
- A portion of botters will be stopped, at least temporarily between software updates.
Cons -
- Long term this solution is more of an illusion, botters will program around this, and this is a never ending cycle.
- These solutions come with a performance hit, on a scale of 1-10, how well would you say tree of savior performs right now? ( Personally, it could be better. )
- Plus Iâm pretty sure most bots donât even use the client⌠and would completely bypass client-side solutions.
I personally feel the cons outweigh the pros in regards to any client based solution. Maybe some server side changes like bot intrusion detection system would be a step in the right direction if such a thing even exists / is feasible for IMC.
I will admit BDO also has this solution in-play, but they also have a myriad of others, which is the underlying reason it works.
BnS has a clientside solution too, but by itself⌠it did absolutely nothing.
Capchas is a great idea, which is why I mentioned including them in the market as thatâs where theyâd be least disruptive.
Dude no mmo in the entire universe has been successful in handling RMT.
Honestly youâre the one who donât understand what constructive means. Look in the mirror.
Uhm, wut? Just go away if you donât have anything constructive to say other than âNo no no! IMC just do nothing and let bots take over everything cause I have my rights!â
Exacly, thats why i think putting âRoâ as an example helps nothing, comparing to Ro, atleast IMC tries to keep an eye on/after RMT.
