$20 for a thing that can stop the activity of filthy goldsellers is more than worth to me.
IMC is doing a good job on this.
Are you willing to spend $240 per year to play this game with 100% uptime on tokens?
I make $80k a year and I wonât be doing that. I would only get a token if I desperately needed to trade something.
I would pay $35 for a 3-month token.
Itâs not about keeping token up 24/7. And I would do that if I want to.
Itâs about ceasing the ability of goldsellers, I even want token to be untradable
It is about what is the most economical for IMC. A 3-month token at a reasonable price(10-12 a month) will get them more money.
But you do know that keeping trade behind a paywall does nothing to deter goldsellers right? Goldsellers will just pay to workaround that, plain and simple. If you have played p2p games before, it is definitely not stopping them from paying the subscription to go along their usual business.
And the high price is a part of stopping them. I also want low price, who donât?
High tokenâs price = high silver to purchase them ingame.
For me, if I ever sell token in game, I would start at 198000 silvers for one token.
The only way to completely stop gold-sellers is to disable any and all form of trading within the game. This would turn the game halfway into a single-player though. The 1:1 trade behind a Token doesnât even inconvenience them because Silver canât be traded, so they were still going to use the Auction House over it anyway.
Some people donât get that, so Iâll repeat it in bold:
#Gold-sellers werenât going to use the 1:1 Trade in the first place because Silver trading is disabled.
So if this literally doesnât affect the gold-sellers, then who does it affect?
#Players only
Who?
#Players only
Say it again?
#Players only
So the entire argument against removing the 1:1 Trade from the Tokens, is ACTUALLY this:
No one on this forum can rationally defend locking Trade behind Tokens. Letâs go ahead and put the Valkarine teleport statues behind them too while weâre at it, because the arguments for keeping Trade in it are the same:
âYou can still get the same item your friend playing with you got, with dedication / grinding.â
"You can still reach your destination without using the statue, with dedication / walking."
âTrading is still in the game, you just have to pay for the Tokens in the Cash Shop.â
"Teleporting is still in the game, you just have to pay for the Teleport scrolls in the Cash Shop.
Best idea so far.
Maybe we should put whispers behing tokens too ?
Stopping them? You gotta be pretty naive to think that all these inconveniences, these paywalls are gonna stop them. As long as there is demand for their services, they are gonna be here. Even if you consistently ban them, theyâll just sprout out like weed. Games like ffxiv are still constantly battling rmt. Ban them, theyâll just buy another copy of the game and pay for the subscription, itâs no biggie to them.
Considered Iâm pretty naive to think that. But Iâll just sit here and see how things go
No need to tell me how they sprouting out like weed, I played bns so I know the scenery.
Iâm here just to show my support on removing the paywall on 1:1 trading!
(even silver, this is not the solutions against gold sellers).
All IMC needs to do is cap the amount you can sell equipment for in the AH, and gold-sellers will have no way of working around this.
I respect IMC for giving it the ol College Try with getting rid of botters. In my line of work, saying âit canât be doneâ is a great way to get yourself fired.
So youâre earning your pay by designing bad solutions that satisfy management ?
Just to show that âyou did somethingâ ?
Which would be useless since you can always buy an equipment sold bellow the cap and resell it at cap price.
WoW, Iâm so genius. Should start in goldselling, would earn many $$$.
How will they cap equipment? How will they determine what item level 180 weapon is worth 50k and 2,000,000? The player base decides where value lies, ultimately, based on supply and demand. Attempts to cap these will end with unusually low level items with unusually high demand being unsellable for their true worth, and vice versa - high level items at low demand with caps much too high, easily exploited by RMTers.
Talk about putting words in my mouth.
How is reselling equipment a workaround to selling gold? If I want 1,000,000 silver, and I can only sell cheap equipment for 20,000 at most, then it would require the seller to trade me rare equipment which would:
1.) require a token
2.) be easily detectable and ban both buyer and seller.
So whatâs the point of being an Alchemist or Pardoner? Alchemists canât buy their materials and they canât sell their services effectively.
Pardonerâs can make scrolls and⌠use it themselves? They certainly canât effectively sell them or give them to friends/allies.
The lack of team storage also restricts support classes since they canât even use their crafted items for their own characters on the same account.
For classes based on player/community support through items/services, they cannot do anything with all these restrictions.
Ultimately you have to make it easy for the buyer. If the buyer is required to have a token then it complicates things.
Right now RMT use cheap NPC equipment on the AH to sell gold. Cap that.
Everything else would require more effort on the buyer and seller. Make it as inconvenient as possible for them, and they will take their time elsewhere to sell gold.
Time is money. If they can use their time on a different game and make more money, RMT wonât stay here just to be stubborn.
This.
IMC needs to fuÄking understand that. It wonât stop the goldsellers. All it does is make every player angry. A great deal of people will leave this game because they canât trade with their friends. Even if they can, they are limited to 30 trades per month. Thatâs what, 1 trade per day? If you want to trade drops, you will reach the limit in 1 week or less.
IMC, stop making your players suffer because of your incompetence.
Except they didnât âaddâ anything. When you design a game, sure you get the right to put new content behind some form of compensation (cash). Thatâs how the economy works. When you copy someone elseâs ideas and try to sell them for profit, thatâs called stealing.
If there putting basic services that have been staples of every MMO since the beginning of MMOs behind a paywall, thatâs not adding anything new. Thatâs finding cheap, stingy ways to suck the hyped players dry at short term profits - long term ruin. There is no motivation to play any party based or community based classes or events atm. Private servers will destroy this current model if they donât change something fast.
Whatâs next? 60 auto-attacks per token? Donât like it? Use skills only. It sounds ridiculous right? Exactly what someone would have told you if you said 30trades per token 5 years ago.
Only if the idea is copyrighted or trademarked.
Except the obvious reason being that you need a party to complete certain content, and bosses drop the items for everyone.
Bit of a slippery slope fallacy here. Just because there is something in the game you donât like, doesnât mean they will continue to do so.
