Tokens -> Immediate Attributes? You mean Pay2Win?

Who cares about the game being p2w anyway.

A lot of these responses seem to favor people with no time, with money.
But what about people with no time, and no money?
Certainly, it isn’t impossible to catch up to a player that uses Token benefits, but consider the amount of time/effort that that player must dedicate. Now there is a division between Token users and Non-Token users.

Bringing up the subject about attributes was very considerate, and I agree that this creates some unfair advantages. This is only one of the many things about Token that I dislike.

No time and no money. Means you have issues you should be taking care of that are not playing ToS.

For ■■■■■ sake, stop complaining.

1- Learn attribute
2- When the attribute cooldown is gone, complete a quest but DONT get the reward
3- Use Klaipeda/Orsha/whatever scroll
4- Learn a new attribute
5- Get back into action using the teleport to the NPC to get the reward

profit

I’ve Done it and I have every Swordsman, Peltasta and Hoplite attributes maxed out (except for Cloth and Leather, and skills that I dont use), at level 113.

A normal player wouldn’t benefit much from the instant learn, because these attributes get really expensive over time (specially Plate /cloth /LEather mastery). Learning Plate mastery progressively with my gameplay was expensive enough, there was many times that I hadn’t the money enough.

Oh, and i’m not a token user.

The only win that token users are getting from this is having saved time. Eventually, non-token users will catch up and get on even grounds with the those who use tokens.

Except for armor mastery which is lv.50 at max (I think), all other class attributes that require time to learn are mostly only about 1-10 levels which you should be able to cover in a few weeks time. +% skill attributes can be learned instantly by token or non-token users alike.

Also, even if you don’t pay IMC anything, you can always save up silver for a token at the AH. Tada, premium baby!

I got 3 characters that reached Fedimian, i made sure to buy tokens when they were up for 300k on market.

Hello 6 Tokens.

@MelioettaZyguard
You should prioritize getting a token from market before you do attributes.
Why? once you have a token you have 10% tax using the market, which means you can start selling items that are on demand. Example, get Alter Rod recipe, farm materials, sell it for 80k on board, 72k silver profit from selling just 1 item.

There are “hooks” those sells on board for 3k each in Fedimian server, and has a 20% to drop from mobs.

Once you feel you got a stable income, then you could start putting down silver on attributes.

Any f2p can achieve this token aslong as it stays at 500k (which it wont)

I totally agree with OP, if for different reasons.

I understand that damage-increase abilities are already instant. I get that. Plenty of skills aren’t, though (armor type bonus namely, but swordy Gung-Ho and Concentrate are up there too as pretty significant, particularly for lower-level characters).

Though to me, the attribute thing alone is not the biggest issue. While I do believe it creates a significant disparity between payers and free players, allowing folks with silver to instantly become much more powerful than their poorer comrades, it’s the very function of tokens in the first place that is the real issue. Why? Because anyone who pays irl cash for tokens can easily earn the silver required to level up those attributes by selling the tokens to users who need them, namely f2p folks.

Why is that lame? A few reasons. One, because it means people with more real-life expenditure can instantly earn what will take F2P players days worth of leveling and grinding and earning silver and lucking out on rare drops. F2P folks then need to spend every silver they have on the token and therefore can’t afford better equipment, because they probably had to sell that equipment to get the token. Not to mention they only get 1 slot in the market place to sell, so they need to make sure their single item will actually sell, and then get less for it than a token-user due to the 30% tax (kinda like America’s crappy economic model of “trickle-down economics” where rich people are given tax breaks and the middle class gets effed.) Everything works against the F2P player.

The other issue with the tokens is that while it is mostly convenience-related and time-saving, that equates to winning in my opinion. The token allows you to run more quickly with more movespeed, letting you get from place to place more quickly (less significant). It allows you to sell more items on the market place for better profit (significant when we’re talking about ability to earn silver), and it allows you to run dungeons more often, which equates directly to one’s ability to find rare/useful/powerful items and equipment.

“But Hilsun,” I can hear some of you (most of you) saying, “Anyone can get a token, it just takes more time for F2P people, and that’s not P2W!”

Ok, you’re right F2P players can also obtain a token, but the only way a token can come into existence is paying real money, and I have a huuuge issue with that. It means that basic functions of the game are only accessible through paying real money, whether it’s you or someone else. Does IMC need money to function? Yes, yes it does. Does it need to offer such enormous perks to players, only obtainable through real-money in order to make that money? No, I would argue it does not.

Ultimately I don’t think they should market as “free to play” due to the significance of the benefits afforded those who pay. Wakfu did a similar thing, and I equally disagree with that model. The disparity between payers and free-players is far too significant to ignore.

For anyone who is saying “I’m a non-token user,” use a token and you’ll see why the difference is so immense. The ability to post 5 items on the market place instead of 1 ALONE is a HUGE boon to one’s ability to make silver. If you’re stuck relying on a single item at a time to sell before you can sell another item, you’re severely gimped, unfairly so, even without the extra 20% tax.

Token is still achieveable at the markets current state as a f2p player, refer to my post just above yours, and some others post above too.

I want to advice F2p’s to work for that token before it gets even harder.

Edit: because once f2p launches make sure to have your items ready for sale, because the new players will want them, aslong as you meet the supple and demand.

You will lose alot of potential income not having a token by then.
That income could supply f2p’s with more silver for more tokens.

But hey, some people rather scream “p2w” and do nothing about it.:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I’m not speaking for myself, since I’m here playing the game haha.
I imagine if I were a student, I would be too busy with school and surviving–with 4 hours to kill time playing a bit of ToS.

Well, my suggestion is to reduce the time to learn an attribute. Reducing it by 15 minutes wouldn’t be a terrible idea.

OP is either stupid or doesn’t know enough words to describe a system which offers ALL players the option to skip the time required to learn attributes by buying a token which is accessible by ALL players, F2P whores through silver and players who want to throw cash to the game.

TL;DR You can’t even use a lazy azss term such as Pay2Win properly, go accumulate more knowledge.

Nice try but most attributes that give actual power are already learned immidiately.

Ur right. IMC should just monetize their game the way very intrusive tablet games do.

Offer 0 support, and put ads everywhere.

That way the game will be truly f2p. like tablet games are.

I’m not a payer much of a player, and I’d like to contribute to this thread.

Excuse me but if, for example, I decide to buy a token, who says I will buy plenty others? You can see tokens as a non-bound monthly fee since it lasts 30 days. Moreover, you say people with more money IRL will be more powerful. Excuse me but, as long as I’m concerned, in real life, sadly, people with more money have more choices than people who don’t. Why would it be different on a game? (and I’m saying that as an unemployed one so don’t think I have a big full wallet).

When you start the game (and I’m talking about f2p players who won’t be very good at first cause they didn’t play for one to three months before the release) you have more or less enought money to buy an attribute, wait 30 min farming and then coming back to get another one with some gear. So the time limit can be helpful to them to force themselves to learn the game, what a shock!

And finally, who cares about some guys being stronger in PVE since gears already do that, and you can switch channel if someone prevent you to grind. Think about it, I have a 76 QS that I leveled with Monster Achievments to give it a try, I have all the time based attributes maxed out on him, from both QS and Archer class. Then, what’s left is instant anyway so it won’t be much of a difference.

The fact is, the difference will be important in PvP, and PvP in ToS is end game, not early. So you have plenty of time to max out your attribute while leveling and then being at the same “power” as the payers.

The only thing I see on those posts is “cry cry cry I have no money or don’t want to pay for a game I spend hours on so the others must have to pay for me * cry cry cry*” . I guess it will be around 10$/token, once a month, not mandatory if you don’t play this month… really? you are crying for 10$? The time you spent writting your thread would have paid this token with a low paid job. Get over it

f2p folks, more like f2p whores

People with NO TIME and NO MONEY shouldn’t be playing an MMO. MMO’s are time sinks.

Yeah I had 60 day tokens in reserve at that time. I was overseas with bad connection so I didn’t activate it.

THIS.

Also,

I hate dumb people like you. Why do you even exist? Nothing is p2w here as I bet many people have told you, but I guess people like you just love to see the world burn.

  1. Attributes have its limit.
  2. Everyone can max it out
  3. It doesn’t take YEARS to maxed out your attributes without the token benefit.
  4. You will still have to wait for silvers in order to maxed out your attributes.
  5. You don’t benefit much other than easier life on grinding.
  6. PvP? Everyone pvp at high level, at which point have all their attributes maxed. So your whining on p2w is pointless.
  7. ITEM WILL DO YOU MUCH BETTER THAN MAXED OUT ATTRIBUTES.

TL;DR,

GTFO from this game if all you do is hate on something that are irrelevant. Beside, I bet most of you whiners aren’t even in the 10% players bracket. Like wtf, all you guys do is whine.

You people didn’t want P2P so now deal with it. Just wait until the swarm of bots and gold sellers hit us once Early Access is over.
