Okay, thanks a lot for the help!

PoE was literally made by ex-blizz north employees.
So what if you played all the mmo games out there? It doesn’t mean you have reached a level that your judgement are absolute and we have to follow. All it shows is you are just a kid who spent too much time gaming and now rambling in forum how you hate this game you just played. What, did you leave the same note when you left RF online also?
From your TLDR essay, we can see you are a perfectionist who tries to completes everything. Got burned while trying to complete every content, bump into some game bugs and long grind and now before you are leaving, you left us a whining note how you got VICTIMIZED by IMC.
Dude, if you want to leave, the door is there. Please don’t leave your negativity or however constructive you want to position your essay as. All i see is just whining little kid who couldn’t even make a Pacman game. Your TLDR essay has nothing constructive other than you couldn’t have it in your perfectionist, immersive experience the way you want it.
By the way, can I have your items before you leave?
wtf you on about lol
it was made by a couple of dudes in New Zealand inside a garage
i think your mistaking PoE for Torchlight.
true at the beginning, but if you play the game at all you know how hard the devs work, insane amounts of content, in very short development cycles, the game draws in more people from outside its “d2” shell.
Perhaps I am, still the comparison gets on my nerves since they are two completely separate genres.
Can’t be worse than the RO/ToS comparison everyone throws around.
different genres but they both play alike using the same camera angle, the majority of time spent during both games is killing monsters, which is why its very easy to compare them.
both have flexible class systems, PoE takes it to the very extreme while ToS is far more subdued, but complicated enough to offer a good amount of variety
ToS has randomized stats on items now, which is borrowed from arpg’s, just another similarity.
i still kinda like this game because it plays so nice with controller, the music and combat animations are good, but its true its lost its sparkle.
just by returning you get overloaded with 14 day timelimit items that pressure you in making a decision when to use them. you get some kind of consumable that makes you one shot all monsters up to like… level50? thats real cute and all, but it completely sucks any challenge or excitement out of the game. just by playing 1 hour i have encountered more bugs than i had back in beta. graphical glitches everywhere, settings that revert itself randomly, quest tracker is randomly showing and hiding quests i dont even have in my questlog, which in result forces the quests i DO want to track off the screen.(the legendary card unlock quest just keeps randomly popping and going) the framerate performance is slightly better now for me, but once u pick up a bunch of quest items the game start microstuttering like crazy, a problem thats been there for like… ever!
another thing that triggers me since the launch of this game, is that quest markers have absolutely no consistency. you can have a quest with a giant circle on the map, but the objective is just interacting with a object within there. other times you get a very small circle, but the quest involves killing monsters that can be found troughout the whole map.
poor quest and item translation also makes it hard to get an idea of what it needs to be done.
just an example from quest: Information about Saugas(4). Objective: Lure the Saugas from the right side of Alkune Stairway. what am i suposed to make out of this objective? kiting monsters over some bridge or non-existent stairway? no… it was simply interacting with some tiny pebble.
they cant even do something as simple as explaining the fishing feature. it took me like 3 hours to find out how to grill a freakin fish because aparently it was obvious for the game designers to just straight up eat them while standing next to a campfire. so they took time to give everything beautiful animations, but for something like this they completely dropped the ball. and at the end of the day, i still dont know what the hell i am fishing for. just the hp/sp recovery on the silver fish?
sigh
I wish people didnt play with controller or keyboard, the ai is monkey level but people still make me sweat in all content since they can’t literally target enemies properly
@GadenRhoss now that kinda depends on the class now doesn’t it? if this is your main concern why the game disappoints you i think you’re doing just fine…
Quest log bugs if you have better quest addon.
All monsters die with 1-2 hit until level 200.
The stuttering when looting isnt there anymore, maybe you have a bugged addon from ages ago?
You can loot premium items with fishing.
hmm i think i just have map fog viewer and fpscounter remover, but you may be right.
the addon folder is empty, and i removed the other mod files from the data folder though.
ill try a fresh clean instal
edit: no luck there sadly, all the problems are still there
Yeah feedbacks doesn’t help right? I mean alot of changes IMC did was their own logic and thinking, not by players feedback right?
Right.
Why? It’s a fact. The last three big updates were released with 1 month interval between them. I don’t know (nor expect to) if they’ll continue releasing updates at that pace, but it’s how it has been in the recent months.
Taking a ■■■■ on a plate once a month doesn’t make you a chef, releasing a ■■■■ update once a month doesn’t make your game good. Updates continue to completely miss the mark on addressing the game’s real issues, it just does more of the same, except instead of releasing bigger updates less often they’re releasing smaller updates more often, which is actually a BAD strategy for bringing players back. If the game actually had a healthy playerbase it would be a good strategy for retention, but it doesn’t. They need to pull a FF14 to salvage this mess.
PoE is successful because it was and is feeding off the diablo 2 captive audience that was pissed off at diablo 3.
ToS is feeding off the RO/other old school MMO captive audience that was pissed off at RO2/current generation MMOs in general. The difference between it and PoE is that PoE actually managed to accurately capture what people enjoyed about Diablo, while ToS is a husk compared to its predecessors.
PoE was literally made by ex-blizz north employees.
No it wasn’t? However, ToS was literally created by the head of the company that made RO. So…
3.) I don’t have to play it for more than 1 hour a day(thanks saalus) and times I do play more than that I do for a reason (guild events, collections, pvp)
Soon I won’t even HAVE to play for an hour a day
How the ■■■■ is “I don’t even have to play the game” a reason a game is good lol.
You’ve been around long enough that you surely know I defended this game and said to give IMC a chance to save it for years. The fact is they continue to just keep doing the same thing, repeating the same mistakes that caused the player count to tank in the first place.
Yeah, yeah. Nothing good came with the recent updates. Nothing good is coming soon with what they announced in their magazine. Look, this is you:

Just stop torturing yourself and move on, it’s pretty clear you hate ToS for some reason and it’s not healthy for you to do things you hate. See ya.
you can like the game but dislike the way its run
and thats where the huge frustration(which you see as hate) comes from, squandered potential all over the place.
Not unplayable, but still with freezing issues. And it’s not my fault if you don’t have friends or a guild to play with. When I don’t like a game, I just don’t play it and find another thing to do. The MMO genre is dead already and I’m on this boat for more than 15 years already. Since there isn’t anything that appeals to me as much as this game and I still have my guild and friends playing with me, I guess I’ll keep bearing with the many flaws this game still has. And I’m not blind about the problems here unlike some people defending IMC in this thread.
Anyway, wasting time with something you don’t like is pretty dumb. I guess street worker isn’t that good, since you’re still around, eh? And look; opinions aren’t necessarily facts. It isn’t like if you don’t like it, it automatically is the worst thing out there. Sometimes, people hate ToS so much for some reason they overlook the same issues other games have, but love to ■■■■ on ToS. Like I said: just move on. Go play things you have fun with.
Because MMOs at end game start to become a chore. When all the content is on farm there is no reason to log on beyond dailies and pvp. The chore aspect of this game is minimal, so I can just play casually to farm up collections or titles for example.
This captive audience is significantly less compared to D2. Most people who care about RO just play on private servers :<
Diablo 2 was a phenomenon, a culture-defining game. RO was a niche korean animoo MMO.
wish you could vent about the game without being swarmed by the 30 people still pouring their life savings and free time into it

wish you could say anything good about the game without being swarmed by hordes of doomposters that pour all their free time into telling why they dislike the game and how everyone should do the same
