The reason why game is broken after Lvl 75

I’m wondering…
Was there an MMORPG that was so easy to level up in, you can reach max level by just
playing one hour a day ?
And if that game is still up and running ?
I think there should be a good balance between Grinding and Questing…
I think there should be more than one way to level up, So that we can cater to both the hardcore and casual kind.
That and maybe the EXP Curve isn’t too high but reasonable enough.

PSO2 comes to mind I guess…
On PSO2 there are a lot of ways to level up to max level for your current class so you can move on to another class to max level.

There are Client Orders (Quests) and they are repeatable some are 22hr and 1 week cooldown.

There are Daily Orders, Quests that change every day and can give EXP and Meseta.

There are times when a “Limited Quest” is available. you can meet and play with other players here for EXP and Rare Drops.

The Big EXP comes from Emergency Quests especially if it is Mine Base Defense 3 (Despair)

There are even EXP+25% and EXP+75% Boosters you can earn in game using items you obtained.
They also give out Tri-Boosters (EXP+Meseta+Rare Drop Boost) regularly.

Also there were various times where they adjusted the EXP Requirements for levels to be lower.

All in all it is both not too easy and not too hard to level up to max level on PSO2.
As for Tree of Savior I am about to hit level 75 so I will see if there is a sudden spike on the EXP Requirements.
Maybe on OBT they will add more ways you can level up your character.
Like more quests or repeatable quests with cooldowns…

Skipping tenet chapel grinding and not doing level 50 dungeon until level 60 is a guarantee to hit the wall at level 80. You re basically getting punished for skipping a dungeon because it’s freaking boring.

You get punished at level 80 for skipping some boring stuff at level 50. Honestly no matter how biased you can be it’s so ridiculous you re incredibly retarded if you can’t see the point or pretend to dodge it

And the story repeats itself many times at various level

… it takes like half a hour to do all 5 runs… Which puts you at 60. Past that with the current rates.

You say that like its a choice.

A party going for that dungeon needs a healer and 4 other dudes.

If you are say, an archer, you’ll get picked last. My archer hasn’t been in a single dungeon party simply because of the availability of other players. I even tried to start groups and people would leave immediately after they joined me.

My linker? Can’t even walk past the area without getting an invite.

Maybe I have an good idea, the developers could make so it’s kind of normal to face higher leveled monsters.
But for that, they need to reduce the penalty the player receives from facing tougher monsters, like attack and defense rates and other things.

That because if you try to face a 10 or 20 levels above monster, there is a high chance of your normal attack always dealing 1 of damage, while skills does full damage still.

What about this idea?

So to play this game people have to follow a strict TODO list so they can play normally.

You re getting the problem backward. This game has so many deadzone level where you basically have nothing to do. If you have no XP cards left to go through you re pretty much gonna suffer. You have to abuse high density area to lessen up the pain of empty level range you may encounter further ahead…

Actually the level 85 wall is funny since there is actually many maps to level up. But the grind is so boring there is absolutely no incensitive to farm those areas. Monsters drop nothing interesting and the grinding in this game is boring too.

They definitely need to remove that exp penalty for encouraging experienced players to mentor lower levels.

If you visit any low level dungeon right now, you are going to wait 4 hours to get a full group. And my group just did this with 4 players as there is NO ONE (no healer) doing the dungeon.

Pretty sure the game will die very soon with new player not able to advance.

If I am a new player, I want to quit now.

You know that CBT will end in 5 days right? The reason why there’s really few people creating new characters.

You know after 3 months of release, there will be very few people playing at the low level? The 200 level dungeon would be very challenging, as you cannot simply make a char in 5 days to help your friend for a dungeon run.

And down the line after 6 months or a year with no new players getting to higher level, I think there will be economic and other issue.

I agree with your statement and this has already happened in PSO2 SEA where a vast majority of players already quit after reaching the hard grind phase of the game because they could hardly find other people of the same level range due to the fact that majority are already very far away from it and it also takes a whole lotta effort to level up a new char to that range.

The game has some obvious grind walls. But I haven’t run into these feelings that the game is punishing. I think enough is going on with attributes, upgrading gear, crafting, dungeons, good grind spots ever few maps. Id like to see group party play possible on more maps. I dont know many maps that can handle more than a few full parties. It seems like earlier maps had lvl1-40 had the best mob density. I agree that the grind could be more fun. More monsters. More working(ideal) class combinations.

Why me, i don’t want to return to this thread. :frowning:

“In order to make a progression system engaging, you gotta reward the player for thinking through the strategic problem you’re presenting them, but you’ve also gotta give the player some way to backtrack if they’re not happy with their solution. This is why World of Warcraft allows you to re-spec you character for a small cost. This way, there’s still an incentive to think hard about the strategic problem of building your character, but you can’t completely ruin your own experience by making mistake”

Jesus christ, can someone please create a topic suggesting this? Like a “system restore point” in which you go back exactly the level/stats you were before switching classes? Having to start all the way from 0 due to a bad choice of class has been one of my biggest issues in this Beta

Exp aint that bad until you hit 160lvls or so. Being stuck with rank 5 class for so long is disheartening.

And I just reached rank 5 :X.

no, i mean yes, i can overkill like all other class, but i got a lot exp from dungeon (50, 90 and 130) saving a lot of my exp card and using them beetwen 80/90, 125/130 and now 170/175

Overkilling isn’t normal man. Most classes can’t get double xp reliably from overkills.
